  1. You just have to know how to read a DaC post - I thought it was quite positive by his standards!
  2. Was nice of Pooles draft reserve to have one of his best meetings for the Bees.
  3. Where you getting that from? Not what I've heard.
  4. If Musliak can do that, what's the hanging around for?
  5. OK, most Poole fans. Especially starman!
  6. If the BSPA had any foresight they could have bought the rights for the GPs, EUs and U21s themselves.
  7. It's a "frustrated ride". So it always counts for maximum rides. It counts for averages is the rider is not replaced. But it doesn't count as minimum rides if the rider is replaced or for averages.
  8. I certainly hope it's all genuine. Because with betting on the sport becoming more and more widespread it could have serious implications that wouldn't be good for anyone! Imagine finding out you had bet on a rider who was throwing away points I guess you could then argue that if you have bet on Swindon to win the league, you expect them to do all they can to win the league and if that means "massaging figures" then it possibly needs to be done. I have no issue with some "massaging", if I was a team manager for a start I'd be telling all my riders that when the rider directly behind them is a draft rider, let him pass you to keep your average down. To me, thats just common sense. Team doesn't lose points but it keeps your average down. Unless of course the rider was a work permit rider, then I'd be making sure he got that first. So there should be some manipulation but I only see this as being akin to team riding (I remember once betting on Leigh Adams and the silly bugger sat behind David Ruud all race!!). I guess it's quite sad that I have become so cynical because I have seen teams do it in the past and that we all know Poole did it in 2009 and I think it was 2004 when they finished top of the league and then lost at Oxford and BV about 65-25!
  9. There was talk of a rule for 2008 that teams could only have 1 rider with an average over 8. So in one of Coventrys last meetings (maybe even last meeting), having already finished top of the league, Chris Harris had 2 EFs and then in heat 12 was well ahead before Danny King of Peterborough made up loads of ground. Bomber ended the season on an average 7.97 - that was convenient! edit> It was the last but one meeting. As against Eastbourne at home the next day Chris kept sitting behind his team mates. But in heat 12 Morten Risager (riding for Eastbourne) had an EF, so Chris had to come out in heat 15, despite having not been that good, and had to finish 3rd to get his average down. all very dodgy and as a fan paying good money to watch, very annoying! TBF, I imagine Swindon calculate their averages after every meeting so are able to compare them to the greensheets. If they find a discrepancy they'd question it with the BSPA - I just assume that one of us has made a mistake and move on.
  10. When Coventry/Harris fiddled at the end of 2007 I spoke out against it. It's not like I've condoned/defending my own team doing it. Unlike Poole fans I am able to see when my club is in the wrong and say so.
  11. Looking at the stats on the Swindon side then yes. But using my numbers then no. Weird how despite checking over and over I have different numbers to the official Swindon site!
  12. Hearing rumours that this result is being looked into. Seems I'm not the only one who is highly cynical!
  13. There are two types of number 8. The one NL teams have to declared in their 1-8. They seem totally pointless to me. When using R/R a team in any league can name a number 8 (who from memory do not have an average over 3 in that league) who can take any R/R rides (but no others) You do not in the NL, have to use your 1st type of number 8 as the 2nd kind and can use any rider as the 2nd type! Only in speedway eh?
  14. What I will say in the Brummies managers defence, a few years ago on a Sky meeting at Brandon, Middlo gave Renat Gafurov 8 rides, one of which was a 2 minute exclusion. But then Middlo is tactically inept so being as good/bad as Middlo is not really anything to be proud of.
  15. Just to confirm, the referees scorecard show that Adam Kirby was nominated for both heats 9 and 10 and missed the 2 minutes both times. Looks like the Brummies team manager cannot count to 8!!
  16. Maybe it's just time British speedway stopped being greedy and expecting 5 race nights and moved to Mon, Wed, Thurs and Fri. With GPs, GP qualifiers, SWC, Euros, U21 GPs, U21 qualifiers, U21 Euros, U21 SWC etc there not a lot of spare Saturdays left.
  17. 8 day rule says you can't guest twice. In an 8 team league an 8 day rule like it used to be would rule out half the league - your own team, the opposition, last weeks opposition, next weeks opposition. Thats 4 teams out of 8. You'd never be able to find a guest!
  18. I just can't imagine the Poles or Danes supporting Woffy or Holder ahead of their own riders. As well as yes, but not in stead of!
  19. It's not too difficult, as long as you know that R&B are team mate and W&Y are team mates. Scores would become 4-0, 3-1, 2-2, 1-3, 0-4 rather than 5-1, 4-2, 3-3, 2-4 and 1-5. It's actually a nice idea, would stop riders doing a Billy Janniro (sitting behind a team mate, scoring 3-6 point bonus points a meeting and being a 7 point man on a 4 point average) or riders like Ty Proctor failing to get a work permit due to scoring bonus points. The issue comes when newbies are trying to work out "did he beat his team mate there or an opponent".
  20. Brummies management being stupid then! D'oh.
  21. What heats had he commited the offenses in? Live updates doesn't mention them.
  22. I dont see the issue with the post questioning why Plymouth wailed to get a guest. It's shocking, unprofessional and not fair on fans or team members to NOT have a rider in to replace Benko. Are there really no 3 pointers within reasonable travelling distance of Newcastle?
