  1. McDonald was single. The courts found him not guilty. What did he do that was despicable?! You've focused on Evans here, done one has called McDonald despicable but nobody can tell me why, they prefer to tell me u have missed the point when they have made to a point that he cheated on his "girlfriend"(no such person exists). Having sex is NOT despicable. Accusing a man of rape when he didn't do it, now that's despicable. But she's free to live her luge and do as she likes. Seems a tad unfair to me.
  2. McDonald was single. Is not guilty of rape. So a single man had consensual sex with a single woman and some people consider it "despicable". I ask again, when did the people of the UK take a vow of chastity and/or become such prudes.
  3. TBF, If I had outgated Tom P Madsen I could roll around the kerb at 2mph and he's not going to pass me or my team mate too On the Woffy note though, some of young Pawlickis team riding with Tai last season was pretty good.
  4. People keep saying this. Why? What is despicable about sleeping with someone? I didn't realise everyone in the UK had taken a vow of chastity!
  5. Opps. Reading it I haven't It's a speedway discussion forum, I discuss speedway. So I'm not a blow smoke up everyones backside and say how great everything and evertone is is but I'm realistic. Where credit is deserved I give it. The basic rules of any forum are to stay on topic and to respond to the post and not the person. You have failed in both elements there. If you don't agree with my post, discuss it. So far you have been unable to point out how signing 3 off the 4 mentioned so far in any way tie in with the suggestion of local, young riders. Ok Dave Mason is local, Marc Owen is local and young but the other two really push it. 1 of Warwick, Johnson or Mason I get but signing teams pull of older riders in the NL is not the route to success - look at the NL the last few years and you'll see the teams that do well have young, improving rider in them. While Warwick and Mason will be that nice older, more experienced head to call on and help out, a team full of that sort of rider is doomed to failure. I wouldn't have made the statement if I couldn't back it up.
  6. Theo Pijper - Holland won the Longtrack team World Cup last year.
  7. So Ched decides next week, sod it, can't play football, have no qualifications, I'm off to work for McDonalds, they give him a job. As a famous person it will be in the papers that disgraced footballed Ched Evans is flipping burgers. Do the public have the right to get upset about that one too? So McDonalds then sack him, then what? He lives on benefits and we fund him until his dying day and he's punished for possibly 70 years? Great idea. Hes served his time, he should now be free to do whatever he wishes within the law. Nothing in the law stops him being a footballer.
  8. Why is it unnecessary? If someone posts what a great signing a rider is, is that unnecessary? Dave Mason has been getting worse for years, its hard a surprise at his age. When Eastbourne announced they were going NL they were going to bring in a load of up and coming youngsters. They have now signed Mason , Warwick and Johnson who have been riding for 20, 15 and 8 years respectively. Hardly what they were promised or what the NL is about is it? Oh as for unnecessary comments. Mine was referring to the Eastbourne Speedway team on a speedway discussion forum. You're was a personal attack that had nothing to do with speedway. Hypocritical or what?
  9. Is Britain really that prudish that anyone having sex with another person is "scumbag"? And since when did being a "scumbag" become a crime? And as pointed out, when you commit a crime you're given a punishment by the courts and once it's complete you're free to go about your life in the way the courts see fit. Here we have the public deciding what to do. Maybe we should start a campaign every time someone comes out of prison for them to be ostracised from society too.
  10. It gets worse for Eastbourne! No doubt he's a nice guy who chats to the fans though.
  11. It can be done though, and by "kids" too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dk_DduOh1rg
  12. To win a World Title at 19 suggests he's a talented motorcyclist and quick learner. Should be an ace signing.
  13. Where do you get that from? It was certainly not the case until the BSPA started to ignore the UKBA in recent years. It all started with Chris Kerr and nobody paid any attention to me when I said it would cause problems.
  14. But if he's only average 5 why would they want to bring him back on a 7 on the basis of a state final result.
  15. The biggest issue with Jake Allen isn't the 7 point average as he'll drop to something more sensible 8 meetings in (or be a super star, and get 7 so the World [well Berwick] is a good place) but the fact that if he does struggle a bit, and by the end of next season is still short of the 7 he won't be allowed back. Is the risk worth possibly only 2, not so great seasons?
  16. Starman, the man who on the political threas rants, moan and bitching about immigrants now complaining about some immigrants not being given an easy time off things. Oh the irony.
  17. The old, "nice guy" line. Don't they day nice guys finish last? Surely speedway riders are signed because they're good speedway riders. No nice guys. If I want friends I don't pay to go to a speedway meeting and I'm pretty sure most others don't. I've not connected on his being nice or not - he clearly is as nobody says different.
  18. I laughed when I read that. quitting his job to to score 3 points a meeting at £10 a point, so £30 a meeting for 20ish meetings means he's going to make £600 this year
  19. Only after she started her campaign. Without her and the furore caused in the press I doubt any of the sponsors would have felt the need to distance themselves.
  20. This is my issue. If the legal bods of this country want to bring in laws that prevent people doing certain jobs and then the courts want to, when sentencing people say they cannot return to that job then fine (well it's not as I think it's barmy) as everyone would be the say. But to pick out one man, all because (as it seems to me) one woman associated with his potential employer went off on one and had a media profile seems totally unfair to me. If I was in his shoes and someone in the office here went off on one like Charlie has done then nobody would take any notice of her as, AFAIK, I don't work with anyone with media contacts. He's lost out because of a militant woman and that, just isn't fair. Are there not laws that say you cannot treat an ex-offender differently? Some sort of rehabilitation act? How does this tie in with that?
  21. How long has he been around now? 7 or 8 seasons of NL racing and still only has a 6 point NL average. There just nothing there and for me he's proof if ever it exists that some clubs just sign 7 rider who fit into a point limit, not 7 riders will will improve and win you things.
  22. Zmarlik? LOL good rider but World Champion? Would do well to finish top 10. Vaculik is an odd one, he should be up there but he failed badly last time he was in the GP series and failed in last years SEC - I accept he'd probably be pushing top 8. The Lagutas, similar to Vaculik. And then Emil would obvioulsy be a challeneger. Don't get me wrong, I'd drop Harris, THJ, AJ, Batch and Hampel (yes! I know that a contentious one. I just don't rate him) for a few of them
  23. I remember a few years back being told he was the best of the 3 - Chris then went and won the World Championship = which is scary! Mind you, there's apparently a 3rd Sayfutdinov who is the same - better than both his brothers, or at least was tipped to be at one point.
  24. But people are rating Glasgow and Sarj aside, where are their points going to come from? Sometimes, solid with 1 guy stepping up is all you need. Might not make you top of the league but will get your into the play-offs and all you need is 2 riders to have a good month and you're laughing.
  25. I know it is just a one off but Sarj genuinely beat Scott Nicholls late on last season and was a threat at very least to the top draft riders (he beat Newman at Poole remember). He also started the season well, so it was not for 6 weeks. He started well then had a month of knocks in the NL and slowed a little (but still did well) before ending with a relative bang. He will get 4 with ease IMO and should be looking at nearer 6. Even on a bad day he generally score a couple of points though, his form was to plod steadily and then throw in a great ride.
