  1. Puk and Bjerre are 3rd Woffy and Pawlicki are 6th Garrity and Sarj are 9th (correct!) Harris and andersen are actually number 1 - which is why it made me laugh when someone claimed they were a weak top that that will struggle this season Batch and Killer are 2nd Zagar and Nicholls don't make the top 10.
  2. Yeah, I think you should at least have a go at the placing - I'll be kind if you're at least close. Kerr and Rose don't even make the top 10 They're actually 11th It is heatleader pairs and reserves.
  3. Thats not what has been said recently. Now the league the riders parent club is in determines priority. This is why there some confusion about BSPA owned Danny King.
  4. Thing is, if Coventry did it you'd get, "Babs and Tom Morley from Tile Hill in Coventry are the 12th and 13th people to buy a season ticket this winter. They have been attending Brandon since 1962". Not really the image you want to portray
  5. This has been mentioned a few times now. I have to ask, why? What did he do?
  6. Funny that, as thats what I thought. In stead use the guy who replaced him at Redcar! Leicester are refusing to pay 30k for Doyle, if Doyles not worth 30k then Summers isn't worth 15k. So makes Redcars 25k seem OTT but then we all knew that
  7. Isn't Lawsons issue more than his family don't approve of his partner so he fell out with them and as his dad is involved at Workington he doesn't want to be there? Nothing to do with any professional differences. Jon Cook is certainly very marmite in the speedway World while the Workington promotion seem to be quite well liked from what I can tell.
  8. That was my guess too. Would be a tidy signing for them.
  9. I guess it's a fair point but do you know one of the best ways to get a high ranking on a search engine? Get your domain name right! .co.uk will get a higher thanking on google.co.uk than a .co domain will. As it is, after a few years of use I'm guessing most of the .co names have made it to the top of google now though. Why don't Sheffield use SheffieldTigers.co though?
  10. It's a joke. Someone hears about Coventry Speedway. They're hardly going to type coventryBEES.CO into their address bar. The Addresses should be coventrySPEEDWAY.CO.UK. So town/city/county name followed by the word speedway and .co.uk. I get the whole consistency thing but not to this extent. That said, there is nothing at all from stopping clubs buying these domains and pointing them at their websites anyway. But how many have? How many don't get the internet so have just happily accepted the BSI way. And there the issue. That was the directive, and someone at BSPA towers who can use Word and is the computer expert decided that meant domain names as they don't understand the terminology used.
  11. Create a facebook event for every meeting, invite all the fans. It pops up on a persons news feed, "Joe Bloggs is attending the Slough Vikings super invitational speedway meeting" - Joes friend clicks it to se what it's about.... WOW he thinks seeing all them photos of riders ridings sliding around a bike and crash. I'll go and see that, he clicks he's attending too. But no, speedway prefer to moan about social media. And when it does have stands like at the NEC bike show recently it has photos of Havvy and Garrity hunched over chatting, looking like they're doing a drug deal on a Middlesbrough council estate. Crashes are spectavular and grab people attention. Two guys having a chat, doesn't. Then on twitter you have a poster made up with " the Slough Vikings super invitational speedway meeting...." and a huge photo of a rider sliding the bike (not last years podium photo with profile pics of the riders - frankly most rider are ugly so won't attract anyone's attention!) and tell everyone that if they retweet it they'll go into a draw for free entry. Takes people 5 seconds to retweet it and if 250 people retweet it to there 200 followers you have just advertised for the price of one ticket to 40,000 people, easily.
  12. And how many non-Berwick fans do you think have signed up to the Berwick news letter on the off chance that in 2 years time they may want to read their news. Or how many local of Berwick who one day having seen the speedway on Sky from Berwick had signed up previously in case they one day heard about the sport? Now if everything was on a website, on twitter and on Facebook that local who had never heard of speedway could stick "Berwick Speedway" into Facebook twitter and google and find all sorts. But not so now as Berwick have it all hidden away. Madness. Also, logging onto a website? Thats the point, there should be no logging anything. click a link is the most they should have to do. A news letter take time, albeit maybe only a minute, to sign up for. Floating fans won't do that. But give someone a link to click on, people will do it.
  13. Which is more fuss than just putting the news on the clubs website for everyone to read. Then send people an email when the page is updated. It's a stupid idea that makes no sense what so ever. I'm willing to be convinced otherwise though.
  14. TBF, with his improvement to date it shouldn't be an issue. Anyone whos going to make it should only be looking at 2 or 3 season in the NL so to go reserve, second string and number 1 is the way to go. Decent NL average next season and a few PL bookings and looking to pick up a PL 1-7 place ASAP is not unrealistic. Luke is one of the real success stories of the Coventry Storm and it would be great if he could go from unknown and a 3 point NL rider to a Bees rider in the next few seasons - it really is great to be able to see a rider doing the business in the EL and being able to say, "I remember him as wobbler".
  15. Gutting. How will we cope. Does prove he's the mystery rider on the Swindon Link website though - which just means I'm even less bothered he's not riding over here with some of his stupid comments on there. Having a go at the fans and saying the fans have no right to an opinion - the hypocrite!
  16. Off topic I know but get to the beer factory at the top of Wenceslas Square. Pour your own beers and big screens around the room show how much each table has drunk leading to big cheers when one table over takes another. And take a rain coat to the GP. In rains ever Czech GP day. And when you leave the track after the GP get the tram in the wrong direction - it goes one stop up and turns around and comes back so it takes 5 minutes longer but it's better than queuing for 30 minutes to stand on the tram when you can sit and only spend 5 minutes longer on the tram! Prague is a great city, the speedway will honestly get in the way of a good night!
  17. I'll bet it's a full transfer. New money coming into the sport, splashing the cash, self proclaimed "Man City of speedway" - the old guard will show them whos boss and make them buy Summers this year - then probably force them to loan him out next year. Ask Sandhu and Frosts how it works! And Stuart Bamford too all them years ago.
  18. Exactly. It's quite simple, you can have fast or you can have reliable. The holy grail is fast and reliable but in reality, it doesn't exist. As soon as it's fast it's not going to be as reliable. And if this engine comes out and is reliable, someone will take away some of the reliability to make it faster at a cost, meaning you now have a faster bike that costs more. If you cold guarantee it would stay as standard then brilliant but it won't - someone will make it faster.
  19. Keeping it secretive so the rest of us can't read it? Silly idea.
  20. So Blobby was correct then! Owned by Allied according to the link! Mind you, the same link also claims in speedway terms they're Man City. Yeah, because Man City chose to compete in a very average tier of British football!
  21. I disagree. New promoter come in, splashing the cash. They'll be made to pay. Ask Sandhu and Frost how it works! Made to buy Nicholls and Batchelor but then made to loan out Hamill, Hancock and Batchelor when the boots on the other foot. The old boys will rinse what they can out of the new blood! Got to beat that ambition and drive ot of them ASAP or they may actually achieve something and make the old guard look like blithering idiots!
  22. If the new Glasgow management have encouraged Summers to ask for a transfer it would be cruel (thats the toned down word!) to now tell him, "no thanks, found someone better". Don't forget, you're playing with some-ones livelihood here! How would you like it if an employer told you to quit your job and then when you'd been replaced told you, "nah, changed our mind". Your promotion made the illegal approach knowing this could happen.
  23. That wasn't even Darcys best team riding last year. Riding inside/outside is the most basic of team riding. Dropping the bike on an opponent to get a team mate around or moving a rider wide to get a team mate up the inside is far better and more impressive- and as much as I dislike the obnoxious little oik he's good at doing just that and hen covering a team mate.
