  1. This one is simple. A rider who moves into the EL can move back to the PL the following season on his old PL average. Just because a few simpletons don't get it doesn't make it confusing, or hard or anything else bad. Speedway doesn't have many rules, what it has is people who chose to ignore them or people who make mistakes. That then leads to confusion. Now you could put an independent person in charge, let them make all the rules but if a club reads the rule book and make a singing based on it and then find out they read the rule wrong, what has changed from now?
  2. If I have something that I want, and I'm happy with it and then someone else wants it, I'm going to want paying a lot of money for it, higher than the going rate for such an item. How is this any different? He was hardly going to say 8k was he in case Berwick said yes!
  3. So Kus has signed for Redcar, Berwick wanted him and have got arsey because Redcar quite rightly demanded a fee for him as he is allowed to do. Berwick are 100% wrong here. Redcar are right.
  4. Lee Trigger is doing a lot of swooping according to that article! Someone buy the a thesaurus FFS! I bet Simota wishes he was a has been, as by definition you have to have been, he never was :/
  5. BECUS WE ALL HATE POOLE!! So, all them years I complained about Chris Kerr and his seemingly dodgy work permits and averages, I was right! He shouldn't have been over here on them averages.
  6. See Taylorj, thats how it's done. Hansen at 1 is, IMO, a massive fail. A confidence rider, who ended the season with no confidence, set to lead your team. you need your number 1 to believe he can beat any rider, and when he doesn't know it was a blip and he'll win the next one. You don't get that with Kenneth. He's either really good or really bad, thats tolerable from second strings, not from the guy you expect to be scoring close to 25% of your points - he got 80% of his points beating the draft riders last season, he'll be a 6.5 rider at best IMO but he'll have a few great scores along the way, just expect a few 3s and 4s too. Bach will do as Bach has always done, not the worst signing as your second heatleader. Wells, now I really don't get him, very talented, saw that in his first season over here despite the 2 point EL average and the 6+ EL average. Howarth, I quite like him but the EL is his priority as we saw last season and he's not put his PL average up in 3 seasons now. I'm not convinced that Palm Toft is the amazing signing some think, his PL guest bookings last year saw him average what he had done in the PL for the 3 seasons before that, not a bad signing by any means but half a point improvement is not going to turn you into league winners. As for Campton, only seen him ride no video but I'm not a fan, 2 seasons over here and can't average 5, meh. As for Barrett, not improved in 3 seasons over here, a good meeting at Workington doesn't make him a decent rider, seems to be capable of big scores but has more poor scores than bad. Then you're about a point under the limit. Don't forget that Kyle score more than Kenneth and Palm Toft last season in the EL, so to expect them to outscore his 6.5 PL average is a little naive IMO. As a team, it just doesn't excite, I don't see where the big points will come from - Hansen is a poor signing and I don't see where the slack will be taken up. I was more amazed that for the first time in about 10 years Workington had not signed a team that looked like winners!
  7. It's a discussion forum, for discussion and opinion. I am using it in the correct way, it's you who doesn't seem to grasp the basic concept.
  8. Every year Workington build decent team but fail to perform. This year they have build a shocking team so at least the fans won't be left disapointed by a team that promised so much.
  9. Aussies come in on a 5, have done for years. Where does 7 come from? The only reason Kurtz should have been a 7 (and hindsight says it was about right!) is because he had foreign league experience, AFAIK Jack Holder has not raced in any leagues.
  10. 3 pages of people arguing over a rule that exists. Yet when a club actually breaks a rule, most people ignore it and call one or two of us who point it out trouble makers and tell us to get over it.
  11. Talk of Lambert doubling up, he still doesn't have a previous PL average so unless the rules are changed then he can't.
  12. Doesn't work like that. Change of profession will mean a new work permit. I assume he'll be riding in a state final somewhere and finish top 4. I remember when riders use to ride in the Tasmanian state final as it was so easy anyone could finish top 4
  13. Well that signing alone has possibly just won Sheffield the league. And probably gained them a 30k asset.
  14. Lee Richardson George/Jiri Stancl Joonas Kylmakorpi (you used this one before!) Greg Hancock Jack Young Brian Andersen Rick Miller Nigel Boocock Sergei Darkin
  15. And as some rider will prefer being on the inside and some on the outside thats going to be down to preference. Nicolai Klindt for instance is crap off gate 1 so probably prefer to be off gate 1 in an easier heat.
  16. Hang on, are you me? Because I'd answer the same. So we've not decided speedway fans are stubborn, miserable and dull, under 60s males who don't drive Fords, like watching pointless and couldn't care less about the Bill.
  17. Even cynical old me had a chuckle. Even I think it's going to happen now, will need to wait for it to be complete before deciding if it's what we were promised though.
  18. 1. It's a web forum - not a professional service. 2. I don't write website content for that reason. If people are going to claim something is great, expect feedback when it's not. Some of Mad Web Designs stuff use to be terrible - I have just checked out their website and they're getting there now tbf to them. And if we're going to be pedantic, you have a question mark at the end of your second sentence, it required a full stop or even an exclamation mark as it's not a question.
  19. No idea where you get the idea it's the higher average - as I'm pretty sure thats never been the case, I knew that Werner went EL with Eastbourne in 2001 and averaged 5.5 but dropped back to the PL in 2002 with Rye House on his old PL average of 8, not 11. And just because a speedway clubs thinks something doesn't make it right. As a collective they have some seriously wacky ideas, so as individual clubs they'll be even worse
  20. Jake Allen certainly seems to be one of the good young Aussies, rather than one of the "well he must be good, listen to that accent" Aussies. Should be a tidy signing.
  21. Amazed we didnt see more of this. Was done purely so Lakeside had fall on his services. I'd like to see Coventry do something similar with Lynn for Joe Jacobs after Lynn were prevented form signing either of their two assets in the EL draft.
