  1. Well they're wrong on line three. The conversion rate has never been 1.6 so if this is the expert proof that says the rate is now 1.4 excuse me if I file it under, "doesn't know what they're talking about" Also the bollocks about, "I don't like using the word drop as it indicates a different level and standard between the 2 leagues" - erm, if there was no drop there would be no need for a conversion rate. FFS, sometimes the human race makes me want to top myself as I don't want to live in a World with people like this.
  2. Clearly pissed if they're throwing money at Summers and Smith
  3. I'm not sure what relevance that has to this thread though tbf.
  4. You're wrong. The figure was 0.60 So a 6 point EL rider is 6 / 0.60 = 10.00 So a 10 point PL rider is 10 * 0.60 = 6.00 Using 1.6 you get 10 / 1.6 = 6.25 Or 6 *1.6 = 9.6 Or lets take 1.4. So you think you can do it old school 0.40 then? So Hansens 5.5 / 0.4 = 13.75!! It was just co-incidence that divide by 0.6 and multiple the opposite by 1.6 was similar.
  5. It never was 1.6. It was 0.6 Thats Why I'm not getting the 1.4. It used to be 0.5 then it become 0.6 why would they now invert it and make it 1.4 when it would make more sense to make it 0.7? I think someone has ballsed up.
  6. You can't get 7.7 without an obscure conversion rate. I know the BSPA are mad but I can't see them making the conversion rate 0.7143! They might have made the rate 0.7 do he'd be 7.86.
  7. Agreed. It looks solid, won't pick up a woodspoon but it's not that good. You don't win anything with two 3 pointers in reserve. Especially if one of them is Perry who really is only a 3 pointer, Sarj could get 5 this season tbf.
  8. I think they have got this wrong. What odds they have done something stupid like take the 0.6 conversion rate off 2 and 1.4 and somehow worked it out that way? Poor signing. Has too many bad meetings to be a decent heat leader. Will probably score big points a few times but will score too many 4s, 5s and 6s
  9. You don't get 8 points from a TR. You get 3 points. With a tac sub you replace two riders who are going to score 1 with 2 riders who score 5, that's 4 more for you and 4 less for you opponents so a swing of 8 points.
  10. Graversen has been here about 6 years now, every season it stated he'll be a trump card at reserve, every season he ends on between 4 and 4.5. He'll do as he always does.
  11. Anyone dropping points to stop a TR is a moron. A TR is 3 extra points. Dropping a point means you drop a point and the opposition gain a points thus a 2 point difference. Just go out and win, it's not worth messing about for he sake of a single point.
  12. Couldn't stand him at the time but it's hard to see past Carl Stonehewer.
  13. Influence yes, but even MPs have to stick to the laws of the land. they can lobby for them to be changed but thats unlikely to be quick enough for speedway riders.
  14. I'd say an average with bonus points is a far better guide. Surely the number 1 who scores 2 bonus points a meeting because he sits behind and helps his team mate is a better number 1 than the rider who averages the same without bonus points but constantly leaves his team mate to fend for himself.
  15. But doesn't Terry still part own Swindon? So any sponsor he finds he's surely going it direct towards Swindon and not the "Elite League" and who could blame him.
  16. Decent signing in Nikolaj IMO. Noticed his name pop up a few times and he caught my eye on a couple of videos I've seen online. If he can get 6.5, Jason can continue his improvement, Boxall can come good after a yera back to settle back in, Kasper Lykke seems to be on an upward trajectory too. Not league winners but certainly not going to be losing at home every week. Mind you, I had you down as going to do alight last year :/
  17. TBF, he's been corrected 3 times now. But I do agree, he does seem to be a magnet for mocking/stick - even if he can be a little annoying. He never seems to rise to it though.
  18. British ice hockey has a proper sponsor. Rapid Solicitors - the people that sponsor Leicester. There in lies the a problem, why when David Helmsey was sitting down with the nice people at Rapid Solicitors (or Mick Horton and Mr Buildbase etc etc) would he say, "nah, don't sponsor Leicester, sponsor the whole league in stead". Who is out looking for league sponsorship? As the BSPA is all the individual clubs, so anyone out talking to sponsors will want to keep them for themselves.
  19. In 2014 there was no back door. He qualified by rights. I accept 2013 was a bit (ahem!) dodgy. And its not a "season of GP embarrassments". He qualified, whats embarrassing is none of the other riders int he World (aside from the 10 who qualified) could do anything about it. If he was so bad they would have done, right? What my stats show is he often finished 6-9th in a GP series or as one of the two reserves. So if there was no such thing as a wildcard and instead the top 10 GP riders qualified and the top 5 from the qualifiers then he'd have qualified more times than not. The wildcards were given to him as it would have been unfair to give someone who had not performed as well as him in the GPs or the qualifiers a place.
  20. Fair enough. So Lawson possibly, even probably can continue to ride PL.
  21. Can't double up if your EL average is over 6 apparently - not seen it officially anywhere but it seems to have upset a few riders in twitter.
  22. Lawson has signed for Lakeside and can't double up. If Grajczonek wants to ride EL he can't double up either.
  23. To think when Tim Stone signed Tony for the 2003 season we all questioned if he'd gone mad as he was old and not one for the future. 12 season on he plans to continue riding!
  24. What if a rider walks upto the tapes with a pooper scooper? AKA "does a Tai"? TBH, as I see it, the riders have 2 minutes to be ready to race. If they're not ready then exclude then, as happened in the Coventry vs Swindon meeting this season.
  25. I diagrees, even Cradley and Mildenhall - two of the bigger/better stand alone teams tend to go with youth and bring riders on. How many 30+ riders have raced for either club in the last 5 seasons? How many 25+ riders even?
