  1. Yeah, the fog off was Lund and Coles. So 2005. Heat 1 Zorro went down the back straight and into the fog leading, then Lund and Coles come out of the fog and Zorro next come back out of it Apparently he had an engine failure. Things got no worse all night in terms of fog but amazingly at heat 10 they had to call it off!
  2. You could argue that anyone scoring 21 in a GP and failing to make the top 8 where 2 top 8 contentors like Ward and Iversen are going to miss out due to injury/suspensions then he's really not good enough as it makes him about 11th at best! As it is, I fully expect him to finish top 8, possibly even nick 6th off Holder.
  3. It's an odd one. As much as I think Batch is a bit of a twit I've quite liked watching him in the GPs - so I hope he stays in. Certainly more entertaining than AJ and Freddie.
  4. Well, friends in high places eh?! Yes it's the same guy. And i know you'll \argue he's not truly independent but what do you suggest, someone with zero speedway knowledge being SCB chairman? There no such thing as being truly independent, we just have to trust that Tony is a honest and professional man. As the mayor of Rugby until very recently you would hope this is the case.
  5. Any chance of a US GP piggy backing onto this in the next few seasons? Also seems really odd to have a NZ GP for years and when that ends have an Aus one. The two should have been done together.
  6. I think someone is taking the piss now. Probably Darcy from the top of the diving board
  7. It's all in the thread about the meeting in question in the NL section. It doesn't need dragging up again for more, "he did this" followed by, "yeah but he did much worse......".
  8. Now let's move on. The SCB have IMO got it right, let's hope the 3 lads have learnt from it and can ALL go in to bigger and better things. All clearly very talented.
  9. Because we beat Poole, when we shouldn't have done. The other two were not such big shocks by play-off time. As for what happens if Thursday is off, the rules make no mention of such a scenario.
  10. Even I can't knock this latest news. Awesome stuff
  11. Its really not. It's a nasty place full of nasty people who hate discussion more than on here.
  12. I love Garrity. I think the GB wildcard next year would be great for him. He probably score 0, FX, 3, FX, F or similar. But full time wildcard? Not yet. I'd love to see him at Cardiff though How many FTR have beat a heat leader this season? Garrity did it twice in one heat at BV 2 weeks ago. He's also beat a couple of others. Lamberts good and I'm not knocking him or comparing two but because Lambert is good doesn't mean Garrity can't be. We need to see Garrity as wildcard and Lambert as first reserve at Cardiff. To hell with top non-GP rider as Cook or Nicholls will get it. What a waste of time. Could you imagine the Poles letting Protasiewicz or similar have a GP wildcard? edit - saying that, Miedzinski has had a few wild cards.
  13. When I was learning to drive nobody was paying to watch me do it. So thats a silly comment. As for the suggestion that NL riders are comparable to GP riders. Pull the other one. In any sport, you get bigger attendance at the higher level. I can think of no exception. Why do you think this is? It's ok saying that the GP rider of the future are in the NL (and I remember Woffys NL debut at Newport. And Watching Bomber riding for St Austell) but for every Woffy or Bomber theres 100s of Steve Austins, Dave Minnalls, Nick Malletts etc. A first timer at a NL meeting is one hell of a risk IMO. Like Shadders, maybe I'm ignorant but having watched ~100 CL/NL meeting over the year I think I've watched enough of them to comment.
  14. How has what Mick has done any different to what Rick had done and Colin and Mick before them? They've all failed to make Peterborough viable.
  15. Apparently it was a meeting prior to that at Kent. But either tell us or say nothing. Rumours and tittle tattle are bad.
  16. The rules say you are tested for alcohol at a meeting. Not while you're out on track during a race. I'd love to see the tester race around testing them mid-heat! Had Darcy signed into the meeting? If so, not a leg to stand on - you could say legless, as it seems he was the night before!
  17. Lets look at his GP and GP qualifier history 2007 he finished 9th losing a run-off with the guys in 7th and 8th so without wildcards would have probably got a place. 2008 he finished 13. Yeah. I'll chose to ignore this season, it doesn't suit my argument 2009 he finished 5th in the challenge so 2nd reserve bur Freddie was 1st reserve and he finished 9th in the series. Without wildcards Bomber would have probably qualified. 2010 he finished joint 5th (technically 6th on count back - why no count back in 2007 though?) in the World. 2011 he finished 11th. Didn't do the qualifiers. Yeah. Not good BUT the following season the Poles limited GP riders and Hans Andersen who finished 14th in the qualifiers got in! Bombers 11th in the GP series trumps that 2012 he finished 12. Messed up the qualis but didnt get back in the year after. 2013 he finished 5th in the qualifier. Without wildcards that would probably be enough. As it was 2 riders quit and one rider qualified twice so he got in. 2014 he finished 3rd in the qualis and made it. So in all them season only twice would he have not qualified, 2009 (based on 2008 results) and 2012 (based on '11) but 2012 was a bit of a farce anyway. So by all means, discount his wildcards but then he qualified more times than he failed. Still not a great record but not as bad as some think.
  18. People said that a few years ago. He's still going! So what? If the top 15 riders in the World are in the GP series then they should stay. What you're saying is even if you are 9th to 15th in the World you should be kicked out to be replaced by 16th to 22nd in the World. Great World Championship that would be!
  19. Why the hell do Kent keep referring to James Sarjeant as controversial? One incident and they've mentioned it numerous times now, at least try and be original
  20. I dont see how he could have insisted. What if, the entire Edinburgh team had agree to go to Church on Sunday so were not available? Could they still have been made to go? Or what if the whole team were riding in Poland no Sunday? Surely if a meeting is already programmed it's tough.
  21. Why two Swedes? GB dropped down to one rider despite having the GP with the highest attendance. We only got back to two riders as they qualified. Let the Swedes have 1 rider, let AJ and Freddie fight for it next weekend. Then get some decent rider in who will make a difference, not rider who are in because of some silly numbers game.
