  1. The irony being that Pavlic failed to qualify in 2012 and nicked someone else place. Yet in 2013 did qualify but has had his place nicked by Danny King! You could equally argue that Harris, Nicholls and Kennett have had a chance and failed so don't deserve a wildcard. As pointed out, King got injured.
  2. It's obviously getting the right riders on the right track. Put 7 Seb Ulameks on Eastbournes track and they'd lose. Put 7 Lewis Bridger no there and they'd rarely if ever lose. As I said above, a few years ago I worked out teams away scores as a % of their away scores (or vice-versa) and found the same teams were top and bottom every year with only a few, generally minor changes. Suggests the track plays some part! Ok it PL and it's a few years old now but it proves a point.
  3. Totally flawed logic. A team loses every home meeting 44-46 and every away meeting 75-15. While another team wins every meeting, home and away 46-44, Who has more home track advantage? using your theory it's the team that won every meeting. To anyone else being able to score 44 at home yet never beat an opponent at home would give the crap team far more home track advantage. No idea how it stands this season but a few years ago when I calculated points scored away as a % of points scored at home the teams you expected come out top with regard to home track advantage consistently.
  4. Hopefully where ever it is, someone looks into it and it can be made to work. Though sadly, as I said originally, I think Cardiff or Newport are the sports only hope in South Wales and Im not sure either of them would work.
  5. Why not just have 4 more GPs and show them on tele like they do the others?
  6. I'm not so sure. It's foolish yes but I think he had at least half a point. Hindsight says he was right. Showed he was upset and didn't just accept it.
  7. But a rider can win every race apart from the 11 finals and be World Champ. Why should a final be worth more?
  8. Why did they give him gate 4?! fair play to Emil, come good when it mattered.
  9. The poor lads been pissing into the wind. A slightly better track and he'd have 11 or 12 points now.
  10. Yes, driving under the influencing, failing to stop, driving without a license and driving an unlicensed vehicle.
  11. Yes, we'll done. Picking out one post. NOBODY said he'd be in 2nd with 3 GPs to go so everyone failed.
  12. I'd estimate Ebbw Vale. Thats about them timings from Newport, Cardiff and Swansea. As mentioned on the thread about the track at the proposed race track (thats bene put on hold again now), the people of Ebbw Vale won't support a speedway team. They don't have any money. Newport failed, Cardiff is South Wales' only hope and the sport doesn't have a history there (not in living memory anyway)
  13. The British GP is in Wales. If the wildcard has to speak the local language I think 68 year old Myfanwy could get the chance next year on his bicycle.
  14. BSI will make it up like they did when thehy gave AJ the place the Ales Dryml should have had according to the rules.
  15. Looks to me like the rules dont take into account the fact a number 7 (by average) could be representing GB (the ACU) thus only a NL guest should be allowed.
  16. You're not meant to quote a whole post to say I agree but sod it. I agree. The issues with the sport are not the rules.
  17. Thanks guys. Really enjoyed this meeting. Been a few great races. Hoping for a home team 5-1 in the last race now as I'd back them to win by more than 10!
  18. Do reserves have to have a minimum number of rides?
  19. Lets be totally honest, extra point for the semis, extra point for the final, double points for the final. 5 points for the semis, 5 more for the final. It's all irrelevant. The top guys will still be the top guys, the bottom guys will still be the bottom guys. It might change the way some riders think and behave a little but the best 3 riders are still going to be the top 3 in the series. Fiddling for fiddling sake just seems a waste of time to me. Speedway is 3-2-1-0 points sport, leave it at that. Keep it simple. "How many points did he score in that race mate?" It'll always be "three" if he won it.
  20. I disagree. It meant on Saturday Tai just tried to beat Emil, he sort of "won" the GP as he top scored. He can be happy. Yet Puk got the win so he's happy. OK if it had been the other way around Puk would have been gutted but thats the joy of the GPs. I say leave it alone.
  21. You get more points for making the semi and the final by, amazingly, scoring the points to qualify! Leave it as it is, IMO it's perfect. Speedway is 3-2-1-0 and thats what the riders get in every heat. Why should the rider who scores 8 and make the semi and then comes last score 5 more than the guy who come 9th, scoring 8 points? Why not have extra points for finishing in the top 3? And the top 6? And the top 11? It's all pretty arbitrary.
  22. You will NEVER stop injuries. All you can do is try your best to limit them. Coventry were one of the first (the first?) to have an airfence to lead the way to some degree. Obviously that does mean that the Coventry air fence design is old now, issues are being found with it. Things do need to move on but it a bit unfair to have a go at Coventry about it. If a riders bike hits an airfence at speed the airfence will move or explode, there only so much that can be done.
