Because he's a soft touch? Easy to manipulate? Easy to ignore? Do you really think that Middlo was able to do anything for Crumpy? Plus he was hardly likely to say, "Middlo is a tool with the tactical noose of a dog turd and the talent spotting abilities of a blind death and dumb Eskimo" is he? It's all well and good that all these riders want to ride for Middlo but do what if he always fails Bd under achieved?! I'd prefer a manager that no rider wants to ride for but gets the best out of his riders.

Swc Perfect Rules - Any Ideas?
SCB replied to krompa's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Just have a reserve who can have 5 rides max. Any rider, can take any 5 rides. All teams would have the same chance to name their number 1 as reserve and use him whenever they like. The reserve can't have a tac ride or a joker though, so maybe having your best rider at reserve is not a good idea..... -
They were still 150/1 after about heat 10 as I put a £1 on them as by then I decided just about anything could happen.

Swc 2014 - Any Idea Where?
SCB replied to krompa's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Has to be in Sweden or the UK as embarrassingly both have to qualify. -

World Cup Race Off - 18th July 2013
SCB replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
By Middlos standards he did an ok job tonight. The riders let him down, every one of them. How many lasts has Tai had in the GPs? That last was pretty big in the scheme of things. Why is Doyle and Woodward could step it up couldn't Bridger and Barker? Even I think Middlo was pissing in the wind! Let's start again, at the bottom. Let have a test series against the Swedes, the Russians, the Latvians. Frankly the Germans, Finns and Norweigans. idiot clashing with EL, Poland, Sweden etc. We need to get our riders riding abroad. Get rid of doubling up after a season it's not helping. It's allowed Barker and Cook to be complaisant. As for Havvy. HaHaHa. Rob Lyon and Phil Morris. -
Bet365 are offering Harris +2 vs Lebedev. Shame you can only get 2/5 now. Wish I'd seen that earlier. Harris only has to beat the Latvians, Lebedev has to beat the Brits.

If Harris had gone out and won that race then what? Bearing in mind we had Bomber and Woffy in the next two anyway it could have changed things. Leaving in Ed was basically saying, "nope, no point, we're going home" Then what about putting Bomber in heat 20 against 2 riders who had failed to score, Kennett or Cook should have been in that heat. Whats the point of having 3rd pick for the nominated heats if you're not going to use it to your advantage? By then pointless maybe? Or would Cook scoring 2 more points have done good things for him? -

Using 2013 EL averages (the only league all 4 ride in), Grajozonek can't evenr average 1 for Poole, Tungate is 4.54, Summers 4.63 and North 4.75. He 's the best of that lot you suggested should replace him. North is marginally ahead but he made the GP qualifiers unlike the rest and didn't do too bad in them. He also has the advantage of a few years over those listed too. As pointed out, irrelevant anyway, they have gone with Woodward. -

AFAIK they don't but I don't see the issue, he'd have had his 1st, 4th and 5th rides. He was taken out of his 2nd and should have been taken out of his 3rd. -

As it is, they've gone with Woodward but there is no way that Tungate, Summers (who I am quite a fan of) or Grazjonek should be in ahead of him! -
You've been able to pay by card at Rye House for about 10 years now.

Well Done Middlo on that tactical change. Better? He was doing his bloody job FFS! Finally get a tactical joker rider, it's only take a decade! But yes, it was right, IMO it was 100% spot on. So much so that I posted on facebook during the heat before it had to happen. BUT why was Kennett kept in his next ride? 7 down, we could have/should have put Harris down. Why wait until we were about 10 down to put him in? Claw back the points ASAP. Again, I said this on facebook as the meeting was happening and not with hindsight. I don't remember any issues that season tbf. He also made a superb call to give Norris and Barker a chance in 2003. And yes, having he correct licensing is kind of a big deal. -

Now this was a huge improvement on the last post. Posts like this are interesting and helpful to us fans. They allow us to know whats going on and allows us to share your frustration. More of this and less of the, "oh FFS it's the fans again" that we normally get and I think you'd be suprised and how happier the fans would be. -

It's say it's a pretty important part. But do you want more reasons? I'm happy to repeat them for the 50th time if you like? Time after time he played the joker on a rider in the heat. Time after time he played the joker on Scott Nicholls who failed every year. What about the time he claimed, "I'm giving youth a chance", days before sacking Simon Stead and going with Chris Louis who failed spectaculary? What about having been given the best team in the league 3 times (2010, 2012 and 2013) he messed up the play-offs when it come down to it and this season has failed from day 1? What about having been given a poor team in 2009 could do nothing with it? So I'll ask Shale Shakers question again, Do you really think that Middlo has handled and "Managed" the team well? And I'll add my own bit to it, what has/does Middlo do that makes him worthy of the job? -

Dakota North will struggle to score any more that 2 or 3 surely? He will have the beating of Manzares (assuming USA dont use a tac vs North as that wouold be the obvious race) Thats GBs chance to pounce. If GB can score 2nd in them races thats 8-10 points the Aussies have to find elsewhere. Lewis and Ben need to be told, "take what you have on the back straight", no fighting for a futile 1st against Hancock when North is at the back. Any points off Ward are a bonus and then we just need to make sure we match Troy and Doyley and frank, Jason isn't a star rider is he? If Ben can fly from the start while Jason make starts like Sunday then thats 3 passes needed to see Jason score more than him. Ive convinced myself we can win it, am I mad? Realistic? Or does nobody know yet? -

Bearing in mind, he has even got the paperwork to do the job so has to do the job through Phil Morris. It's like being a delivery driver but not having a driving license! -

Even Jason Doyle? Damn! I was hoping he wasn't This meeting is going to be really close. I think it's between us and the Aussies for the win but think that us or the Aussies could finish 3rd. The race off will be closer/better than the final IMO. Hopefully Middlo is on the same flight! -

Fair enough, I always thought NI riders had a choice of GB or Ireland. Bit messed up if you ask me! They're cheering for GB in the Olympics, have out flag and then when it comes to motor racing we're the enemy! -
Who Should Be In Gb World Cup Team?
SCB replied to bri1966's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Craig Cook is in his 5th season. By Bridgers 5th season he was an EL heat leader. Cook is good but Bridger had done more at season 5 than Cook has TBF. Both are immense talents, it's just nice to be arguing over who to leave out! -

Gets found out against class opposition like Kennett. It's where Barker excels, he can raise his game more than any other EL Brit IMO. Barker and Bridger won't be shoved around unlike Kennett, King, Cook and Worrall. -

S/he is right. Barker and Cook are averaging 0 in Sweden and Poland. Only way to compare is using EL and PL averages. In 2013 Cook is averaging more in both leagues. Can't be much in it rolling either.
