  1. Im confused, the only change Coventry have made is to replace a rider who has quit. Who is this 10 point rider who has been sacked?
  2. Moggo signed on 11 and averaged 7. If Andre dies the same he'll be about 4.
  3. Can someone confirm Tony Atkin has retired? Or not as the case may be. Thanks.
  4. TBF, had you got young Lambert you'd have not been complaining Boxalls average is pretty fair, wasn't that long ago he was an 8 point PL rider, 4 point EL rider and lloking like making it as a decent EL rider until he basically threw it all away. As for Ellis, there not a lot that can be done about a young rider who bursts on to the scene really, he's a freak and an anomaly. always uses current averages. so if you go up to, for arguments sake 50, and your 3 point rider has become a 9 pointer, you can replace him with another 9 pointer.
  5. People are saying drop the price from £17 to £10 is a 70% drops in costs but if 60% of your costs are rent and insurance, you're not going to get it under £10 though are you? Even if the riders ride for nothing. to some extent, I feel for the BSPA here in that it might just be impossible. On the other hand, if 90% of the cost is the riders and the riders are spending 50% of their earnings on engine tuners, theres an obvious cost cutting route there.
  6. He's owned by Coventry. The issue with taking Adam and him lowering his average is you can't be sure he'll be back next year, he doesn't exactly hang around at clubs.
  7. What a come back, the only times Edinburgh lead on aggregate were after heat 5 today and then after heat 14 and 15. Looks like young Fricke become a bit of a hero in heat 14.
  8. I feel old now then and I'm only 28 I think he looks a mess but you're probably right, he's probably pretty cool to most youngsters. But speedway will still try and market him to grannies and claim it's a family sport whne they should be playing on the extreme sport, riding with broken collar bones (and arms in Nickis case), the dirt, the noise and the tattoos.
  9. How often do 30-something rider come out of retirement and come back better than before? Just doesn't happen.
  10. I made a mistake and acknowledged that. your 3-400 is still not true though is it? the league average is 220. If you're ignoring the Conference (which is non-league football and it £17ish) then 300 is an excessive figure. and are we really going to take tips from sports teams attracting 300 on a good day?
  11. Oh heck! 300-400 is still higher than average for North League Div 1 anyway. And if we're talking 3-400 then every EL and PL teams beats that and I'm guessing all NL teams do, Buxton may struggle but thats about it. So hardly prove the point that this £8 gets the crowds flocking in! It's a poor example.
  12. The weakened arm is irrelevant. Otherwise you could argue would he have scored a few more points fully fit? Yeah, I tell you what, we'll add 5 to his score last night. if Nicki could not handle that nudge due to his fitness thats his problem. He played that situation. He didnt throw it down when KK did knock him as he knew there were 2 riders behind him and he may be throwing away 2 points so it wasn't worth it, had it been for 3rd he'd have been on the floor waving at the referee before he'd come to a stop!
  13. Newport County was about £17 this season too. As for crowds of 3-4000 in the Northern League, I think you're bending the truth again. Whitley Bay averaged 492 while Jarrow couldn't muster 100 most games! The average attendance for the North League Div 1 was 226! the highest was 2200 for the game that more of less clinched Darlington the league title as they were playing the team that come second towards the end of the season. Only 4 non-league clubs managed to hit your lowest estimate of 3000 last season with any consistency while another 9 managed ti at least once. If you want to compare prices, try season tickets. Leicester City works out at £17 a game for an adult and under 10s are free. I think it was WBA charged £20ish for a kids season ticket but for every game they attended they got £1 back so actually, a kids season ticket, was free as log as they went to every game - very clever as obviously mum and/or dad had to pay to get in anyway. What about Premiership family tickets? 2 adults and 2 kids can go and watch Cardiff City for £40! How much does it costs for the same at a EL speedway meeting? If you're willing to pay up front or go as a family, Premiership football (admittedly Cardiff City) is cheaper than EL speedway at some tracks where it costs about £42-45 for the family and about £16.50 a meeting on a season ticket.
  14. Teh filler/catch up guy is rubbish. He can even read names off a bit of paper or off a screen. Seriously Eurosport, dump him. It's funny though, the only bit Eurosport do themselves is that filler guy and he's rubbish and people thank Eurosport for the coverage. Please, get rid of him!
  15. And i'm off out to rape and murder a few people, all so I can comment on murderers and rapists. We've all seen enough speedway and enough of Nicki to know that when it suits he is a master at throwing the bike down for a re-run. Its always when he's att he back too, never when he's risking losing a point. I love watching Nicki, I have a lot fo respect for the guy, he has balls of steel but my God he is bloody annoying to watch, ok he's not half as dirty as he once was but now he tries to get others excluded. Certainly knows how to add to a meeting, Never a dull moment when he's around. And to score as he has done with his arm as it is shows what an amazing speedway rider he is, maybe someone should break Gollob and Lindbacks arms/shoulders if it has this effect!
  16. If you improve over the limit then you can only change like-for-like. If you drop under it then you can change any riders to get back up to the limit.
  17. That video is bad? LOL Its what the sport needs more of, people having a laugh and enjoying themselves!
  18. Fair play to Tai, 3rd place with a broken collarbone and it all looking bad at the interval. He dug deep and pulled it out of the bag.
  19. So Woffy, Kennett, King, Cook in that order. Followed by Stead Harris and Worrall. Kennett sucks at big tracks and in the SWC while Worrall scored an 18 point maximum at Lynn this week - the only Brit other than Woffy to score an EL max in 2013. Harris is the 4th best rider at Lynn over the last 3 seasons and Danny King doesn't have a bad record there. Kennett is below Stead and Worrall.
  20. Because Worrall and Cook can't do much worse than King and Kennett can they? And if they do well, it may just get them an offer from Sweden or Poland. Nothing to lose, plenty to gain.
  21. Fair point. Last time I went to Ipswich the track was much improved. Luckily, I think most people got the point I was making.
  22. If you're not using Harris, you can't use Barker. It's Auty if you're hoping for the future (but I think it's futile - he'll never been more than a 6 point EL rider) or King on current form.
  23. I have another money saving piece of advice for him. Just have 2 tyres between the whole team, after all, theres only ever 2 out on track at any one time.
