Rye House V Somerset Saturday 29/06/13
SCB replied to BossMan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I'll chip in here, pre-season I said Rye were rubbishe. They started well and had to admit I was probably a bit unfair. But since then Nelson and the reserves scoring has dropped back more to where it should be. Add int he loss of Garrity who was doing a lot more than I expected this season and now Allen and Rye House were always going to struggle now. I think they're actually doing sort of OK really taking into account pre-early season expectations (although if Len had built the team properly they would have been higher, no idea why he signed Lambert) and the injuries. -
I didn't say that, in fact I wouldn't say that. I was always made to feel welcome by most Workington fans - After Edinburgh and Rye House probably the most friendly fans anywhere. It just amused me how you all turned on each other when you lost
-
Funny lot Workington fans. I was up there once when Newport won. I was celebrating and some guy had a go, with that they all started having a go........... ............at each other!
-
So who was/is his dad then? For someone who has such a speedway background his use of terminology (or lack of) is terrible.
-
But surely if he's got 2 minutes to interview someone, in the same 2 minutes he could stand in front of the camera. i think thats the point/question being asked. Why does he stand behind the camera?

Really? Sky used to go to a studio. Eurosport give us the inane happy clapper guy who doesn't have a clue. Give me skys studio every time.

Who Should Be In Gb World Cup Team?

Worrall is the same in that respect. Seems to easily shoved out of the way IMO. Id; say Cook has a slight edge over Worrall at the moment but both are very similar riders. Good gaters, not the best at passing (but can) and a little too easily moved out of the way. Minor criticisms int he scheme of things though. -

Regarding the number 8, he could have only ridden in heat 3. The reserves rides would still have been blanks so it would have barely made a difference. -
As GP music goes, last night was terrible! The GPs are normally pretty good for their choice of music. Incidently, music from another era is not an issue, its when the whole night is music from another era or when you get a bit of relaxing easy listening. It needs to be upbeat all night.

Wasn't sure if he was going to ride this year as he was coming back from another injury. Crashed in Denmark about 6 weeks ago and picked up another big injury. I don't think it was just Reading fans he annoyed, he was inconsistent for every team he ever rode for, apart from his half a season at Newport where he was brilliant.
-
Almost certainly didn't as he averaged about 9.5 for Swindon from memory but only about 8 in the end for Oxford. I would check the year books but I have them packed away.

Somerset lost by 6. There were two 5-0s where if they had their reserve they would have got a point, so thats a 4 point loss. So there reserves needed to beat 3 opponents between them. Impossible? Anyway, it irrelevant, they didnt have them yet still got a point with only 4 riders. edit > But then somerset probably would have had TRs so maybe not. -
Charlie Gjedde may have been at number 1 in the averages for Swindon and Oxford in 2003. It's the only possible time I can think of.
-
7 days after completing the 4 home and 4 away. So as pointed out, next week. Incidentally, his PL only average up to last weekend was "only" 5.00 so he'll stay in reserve. With bonus points his average is nearly 7.
-
So to confirm, it's easier to be a number 1 in the EL as its got lots of PL riders than it is to be a number 1 in the PL which is exclusively PL riders? Loving the logic.

Ipswich V Glasgow . Premier League . 27-6-13
SCB replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Complain about the EL but ignore the fact the PL has a team like Glasgow so far out of it that it's embarrassing. Complain about missing riders while Ipswich had to use a junior for Hawkins. Complain about finances and ignore that more clubs have left the PL the last 5 seasons than have left the EL. Stopping kidding yourself the PL is in an amazing state. -

The SWC had always been excellent value for money. Always a brilliant meeting too -

It pains me to say it but no, he shouldn't be in. Woffy, Cook, Worrall and Bridger. Build for the future. That 4 will still beat the Americans (bear in mind Wells is pants at the NA anyway) and are all averaging 7.5+ with bonus points in the EL in their last 6 meetings. -

After tonight Harris should be ruled out! -
Watching the Sky meeting tonight my sister (whos is 23ish) asked me, "Why do speedway teams always play old music?" When 23 year olds think your music is too old you need to modernise it so you can get a few of them in! I did wonder if she'd be reading my posts on here LOL

How long to BSI need the stadium? A week? Then how long to put the pitch back down? Looking at the Galaxies fixtures int he past they have often had 2-3 week breaks at home so if the deal was right they'd surely take it? HA is correct. Ask a random Pole about speedway and they sometime know of Gollob but thats about it. Speedway in Poland is very regionalised, seems it's big int he speedway towns/cities but outside that, really no more than here. They get 2,000-10,000 for their league meetings, don't fool yourself into thinking thats a LOT of people, 3 or 4 times that would be a lot. -
£29 for a seat in the Millenium Stadium is not bad value at all.

Surely Knight was only ever a temp signing while the foreigners got new averages. We'll be told no but didn't anyone really think that once the foreigners got averages they'd get the sack? Hard decision lol.
