  1. We could always fly them into Cardiff airport and we could all congregate there, as the airport is not too big it would be easier to fill it up as well and it would look better on Sky
  2. Well team GB is the oldest, the Swedes cannot be older, can they? I would imagine age wise it Team GB, Sweden, Denmark, Poland(4 riders under 22?).
  3. Does anyone know anything about Marcin? Age, exprience, how highly rated is he? The name rings a bell (does he have a brother?) but I can honestly say I know nothing about him, apart from the fact he's Polish!
  4. Top 5 riders in the EL? Adams, Crump, TRick, Loram and Norris. 2 of them are not even in the meeting so team GB have 2 of the best 3 riders in the meeting for a start. THe number 5's? Havvy, solid 8.5 rider this season, Sweden have crash and burn Lindback who is riding at a similar level, the Danes have Puk who is only a 5.50 rider (as much as I like him, he is no Havvy or Lindback and will not score as well as them) and the Poles have Kolodziej and Kasprzak. The way I see it, Team GB have the best top 2, the best bottom rider and a strong middle order, making them THE team to beat. I think they'll do it, but only just. Havvy vs Lindback is where Havvys experience comes in, he won't make the silly mistakes and take out other riders or go through the tapes, he know how to control the nerves and it will be a telling factor. andy moore, yeah, if they're 4th they're England
  5. Viktor is the translator but as Millard(?) got it wrong (AGAIN!!!) and called him manager a few times at Eastbourne some people have been confussed (Millard has that affect!). I'm still smile when I think of some of the moves and comments and best bits from this meeting, the last week has really made me fall in love with the sport again, Wato wining the chase and now the SWC has been great, let hope for a great end to it all tommorow with a Team GB win, I really can't wait.
  6. Sit back, take a deep breathe, read th thread again in the way it is intended. I know I was having a laugh, it's all a bit of fun.
  7. In Poland, the track is owned by the club, they can have a say (or after all you can't hire a track and change it if you dont have permission), the same in Denmark (Olsen owned the track for the final) yet BS Group own Poole Speedway so what say does anyone have in it? Only the BS Groups people and the BSI people, I can't see the BS Group people being bothered so it's down to BSI, who just happen to have a Dane as the man who calls the shots!!!!!!!
  8. Hindsight? Did Neil have to nomite when he'd use his Jokers ebfore the meeting? Hell no! He cocked up.
  9. Yeah, it should be in Australia so the Australians can get there, strewth, Poole is a few thousand miles away, it's just not fair
  10. I disagree Tomcat, the slightly tipsy Kelvin was not quite as sit on the fence as normal. I sa get his totally drunk for the final and put him in the commentary box with Johno
  11. Cheating? Ha! Wrong? Yes but thats not Neil or the Australians fault, it's BSI's fault. I hate double points full stop, they're a joke, unless a rider earns it by comming from the back.
  12. My sister asked, "Is 'idiot on Sky' drunk?" not having seen this thread, so theres another who thought he'd had one too many. (the 'idiot on sky' is Kelvin BTW, a sort of pet name;))
  13. Where do you start? Jonsson I guess, I love wathing him tonight, why can't he be like that when I see him at Coventry. He had me looking though the gap in my fingers, he was scarey yet great to watch, 2 superb out of this World rides, one to fit in a gap that was not a gap and one to hit the air fence ride up the fence and then re-take the lead, WAH! Gollob, the legend returns, give the guy a real track (not a one off) and see what you get? How happy was he? He tried his best to speak English and if he did not know a word he gave it a good go, he was great, he's so much better to watch these days with his smiles and cheering attitude than he was when he was going through his man of mystery stage, so pleased Poland are though to the final, just for Tomasz. I could go on for ever, I'll just end by saying WOW!!!
  14. To be fair Sir L, I don't think Kevin Doolan is the future or the present, harsh maybe? But then how many rider ever get to SWC standard? Not many! Where as the likes of McGowan and Schlein are the future (in Schlein case I think he's the present too TBH, I have had him in for Johno at Eatsbourne and then had Johno back in tonight). Where as Wato, Parker, Boyce, Schlein are probably the now riders. As I said, Schlein is the man. So it seems Neil is not the greatest manager on the planet, he was ok when he did not have to make the tac changes in the past but now he has to do a bit of work, he got it all wrong. AGAIN!! To balance things a little, he has got the TR rules sussed this year, Newport have often got there 6 point from them, fair play to him, prehaps he is better suited to not having to having to make changes, just stick to giving a rider double points, mind you, it got that wrong tonight!!
  15. I'd use the top Aussie in the PL, Craig Watson over Jason Lyons. TBH, I'd actually use Schlein first and if not then McGowan then Wato. Lyons would only ride as a last resort.
  16. Seems he has had a tipple or two with Streety earlier in the day.
  17. Heat 13, "crash and burn" Lindback(0), Kolodziej(3), Topinka(4) Sullivan(0). Now the whole world and it's dog knew that this was as easy an heat Australia will EVER EVER get, so why the ££££ing hell didn't "Senial" Street put Crumpy out as a joker? Whats he waiting for? Heat 25 when it's too late and Gollob and Karlsson are out!!!!!! Newport have to put up with this every week!!! Don't get me wrong, the guy IS a legend (a real one too) but he is just not capable of being a speedway manager any more.
  18. He's bloody dirty, that 2 rides now where he has wiped out riders. 3 if you count the Adams incident but tht was just him being out of control.
  19. I understand you Pete, I guess you mean like they use on world-speedway.org, it seems some people don't understand it though, people got confussed when I used that format on my website a few years ago
  20. You can have all the generators you like, if the lights go out, they need to warm up. It happened at Reading last season, luckily the dog lights were adequite enough.
  21. I said the same when he come on tele, I assume you mean the guy who apeared from the right for about 20 seconds
  22. The way they rode in the last 6-7 heats and they way they celebrated, anyone would swear they were World Champions. It was great to see one of the lesser nations actually do something, even if there was a bit of luck involved in some heats. I really believe right now that we can win it, I think it's going to be really close and it might go down to the fact one team will drop 6 point back and use a joker while another team never finds themselves 6 point down, yet I can see Swede, GB and Denmark all scoring pretty similar points, I can't see there being any more than 8 points between the 3 teams. The Aussie might also just steal, again, because of the Joker and being able to use it when other cannot.
  23. As the people who know me will confirm, I'm a Joe Screen fan but I actually think that Joe/Neil have got this spot on, Gary is better at Poole, and I know it's a very philosophical way to look at it but it's not nessercarilly a case of Joe's not good enough but more a case of Gary is probably better. I have to agree with this one. Thanks Joe for some great entertainment last night (Mr Entertainment of the meeting?) but good luck to Gary who will be getting my support as much as the rest of the team and as much as Joe did earlier this week.
  24. Bloody hell, they really are leading the way, you name it and it seems the Danes have done it!!
