  1. If a rider in the championship has missed a season or more in the NDL, but has had a NDL average within the last 5 seasons, then they go back into the NDL on their last NDL average, UNLESS when their current Championship average is doubled and it’s higher than that last NDL average, within the last 5 seasons, then that rider will return to the NDL on the higher of the 2 averages. Jake Mulford’s current championship average when doubled is lower than his last NDL average in 2024, hence why Jake is on an 8.67 average in the NDL in 2026. I can’t make it any more clearer than that!
  2. 4.37 - 2.5% = 4.26 ( his 2026 Championship starting average ), which when doubled is 8.52. Jake last appeared for Middlesbrough in the NDL in 2024, with an average of 8.67. This average of 8.67 is higher than his 2026 Championship average, when doubled. So because the 8.67 is the higher of the 2, Jake's NDL average is the one he last had in 2024. Hope that clears that one up.
  3. Jacob Clouting 7.03 NDL 4.18 NDT Senna Summers 7.11 NDL 5.58 NDT Vinnie Foord 7.73 NDL 9.17 NDT William Cairns 10.78 NDL 9.56 NDT Ace Pijper 9.86 NDL 7.38 NDT Ashton Vale 6.38 NDL 4.44 NDT Ben Trigger 9.06 NDL 8.30 NDT Luke Harrison 9.68 NDL 7.89 NDT
  4. Owen’s chance will come. Keep believing. He’s had a little taster now of what it’s all about. Though this year the NDL is going to be much stronger. Hopefully we’ll get to see Owen riding in the NJL at least this year.
  5. Why don’t you contact me and speak to me. But then again, you obviously don’t want to hear the truth. Where this is coming from I don’t know? I can assure you, that King’s Lynn did NOT vote for the 42 limit. Believe what you want, but it’s the truth. One club mentioned a 42 limit and 3 other clubs thought, yes that’s a good idea, but they never looked at the bigger picture. yes had it been a 40 point limit, Jake would have been at number 1. So who would you have put in if not Simon? Who is AVAILABLE who I could have put in instead ?
  6. AH. Once he marries Hayley he’ll have that Passport 😂
  7. Simon Lambert hasn’t stopped these riders from riding. I contacted Mark Parker back on January 18th and he told me he doesn’t want to ride in 2026. I already have my 2 reserves in Kenzie COSSEY and Ollie BINNS, who are both making their first full season debuts in the NDL and BOTH are British riders and always lived in the UK. You’ll have to ask the northern based clubs why they haven’t given team places to Liam Greens, Laylen Richardson, Owen Booth and Billy Budd. Maybe Greens didn’t want a team spot? I know he’s always busy helping the Pijper brothers these days. With respect to Booth and Richardson, they are not yet ready for NDL racing. That’s not saying they never will be, but they need to be winning races regularly in the NJL and Amateur meetings first, before clubs will look at giving them a start in a declared 1-7. Both great lads to deal with, but clubs look at things like this before they offer a regular team spot to riders coming through. Both are still young and have time yet to be knocking on the door for a regular team spot. Billy Budd impressed me last season when I seen him race a couple of times for the Colts at the back end of the season. Unfortunately I wasn’t in a position to offer him a team spot in the end.
  8. Who are these riders who are going to miss out ?
  9. It’s no cop out at all. Had we not of brought Simon in to this team it was highly likely there would not have been a young stars team in 2026. Simon will be a fantastic rider coach. Even Jake Mulford will learn more from Simon. I like to have a rider coach in my teams whenever it’s been possible. In 2007 at Redcar I had Mark ‘buzz’ Burrows and in 2015 at Buxton I had Tony Atkin. 2 great captains and rider coaches. Every team should have one at this level, for the younger ones to learn from.
  10. Can you tell me, which ‘young’ rider is losing out on a team place because of Simon ? All the other heat leaders have either decided not to compete in the NDL in 2026 or they’ve already got team spots. There was no way I was going to run with just one heat leader, 3 second strings and 3 reserves, especially when all the other clubs have 3 heat leaders and a couple of teams 4 heat leaders. We wouldn’t have been able to compete had we not have brought Simon and Jake in. I’m sure no one wanted to see the league reduced even further and also this way we can still give rides to 5 other riders over the season and 2 of those are starting their first full seasons at NDL level. So let’s look at the positives.
  11. I can 100% assure you that Lynn did not push for a 42 limit. Don’t know where you got that from. Lynn were 1 of 2 clubs who voted against the higher limit. The higher 42 limit nearly had the league down to only 5 clubs. We lost a full team and didn’t have a clue where we were going to get any Heat leaders from, as they’ve either decided not to race NDL in 2026 or they have managed to fit into the other 5 teams because of the higher limit. Believe me, we came very close to not having a team in the NDL in 2026. Simon Lambert and Jake Mulford coming in has made sure we can come back to the tapes for another season at this level.
  12. Middlesbrough were never involved in anything like that and certainly not at Long Eaton.
  13. I was at this meeting. It was Heat 2 of Coventry v Middlesbrough in the BSPA/Inter League KOC Cup in 1992. One of the Coventry riders was excluded for falling and the 2 Middlesbrough riders got excluded, all in separate reruns. Then like you said, Rick Miller pulled wheelies for most of the 4 laps and he never realised his exclusion light had come on at the time. Its the only 0-0 I've ever since in watching Speedway since 1976.
  14. Hi Guys Thank you for your feedback regarding the Draw for the NDL KOC. Yes I agree, it should have been much better than it came across and believe me, it won’t happen like that again! I can only apologise to those that weren’t happy with the draw. It was something that hadn’t been done before and there was teething problems and light quality problems. At the last minute I was told we could only go on air live for 2 mins, which totally threw a Spanner in the works and I mean last minute! I had just done a 10 minute interview with Redcar Promoter and an ex rider of this league, Jitendra Duffill, which many may of enjoyed listening to and some not. That interview was meant to go out just before the live draw and it was timed so that it would, but then with only having 2 mins in the end, it was only the draw itself that was shown live, which was a shame really. This really needs looking in to for next year and WILL be done more professionally. I was left embarrassed with the way it came across, but at least the draw was seen live. A lot of room for an improvement next year! I except all feedback, whether it’s positive or negative. We can’t improve on things if we don’t listen and take on board the negative comments as well. I will be in attendance regular at all the NDL tracks this coming season and I’m very happy to listen to feedback regarding this league, whether it’s from Fans, Riders, Promoters, Sponsors etc. If you see me next season, come and say hello and give me your thoughts and suggestions on this league. I know I’m never going to please everyone, but I hope to please the Majority! Best Wishes to you and which ever team you Support in 2019 and let’s hope it’s a good season ahead. Best Regards Jason Pipe NDL CO-ORDINATOR
