  1. Maybe they were just practising for the KO Cup - a competition you might be familiar with, or maybe not if your team are no longer in it
  2. Remarkable honesty. As well as commendable. I agree with your comments about the system and I too favour the league being decided by the league table, but any change back to that format is for the future. Sheffield have played by the rules as they stand for the 2016 season and if you win in the Play-Off Final then you have every right to be anointed League Champions.
  3. Sorry to hear. Dislocations often involve ligament damage and possibly requiring surgery to correct in the long term. Best wishes for a full recovery.
  4. Your wild insinuations are misplaced and false. Reports show that Bradley was the architect of his own downfall (no pun intended).
  5. Yeah!! Although being in the 70's it'll be denounced by the resident blockhead, he can't remember as far back as 2011 so what chance has he got
  6. Blocked you say, on what grounds, there are none. If there were trophies for most idiotic posts of the year your posts would win them all no problem Yes mate, best leave smugness, arrogance and sheer stupidity to Edinburgh
  7. What an idiotic post. Your original post did not differentiate timeframe, it merely said winning trophies. The biggest trophy is the League and in regard to that trophy Glasgow have won it 3 times to the Rebels once ever. On the second biggest trophy, the KO Cup, Rebels are 3 to Glasgow's 2. So, on the two biggest trophies Glasgow are 5 to Rebels 4. The rest of the trophies are not so much secondary as tertiary, after firstly the League and secondly KO Cup. No wonder everybody detests the smugness of Edinburgh's stoopid supporters and their stoopid comments.
  8. Rebels have plenty of experience winning trophies? The Rebels have won the KO Cup three times but have won the league title..... only once ever!!! Compared with the Tigers whom have won the KO Cup twice and the league title..... 3 times!!! So if just on "winning trophies" the nod goes to Glasgow.
  9. According to my copy of the Speedway Star, issue dated 28th May 2016: "Heat 14: Barker, Anderson, Garcia, Nielsen, 58.4 (57-26)" The scorecard in the same issue of Speedway Star: GLASGOW 60 R. Lawson 3,3,3,2*,2 13+1 N. Lunna 1,1,3,1 6 R. Worrall 1,2*,2,3 8+1 B. Barker 3,3,0,3 9 A. Summers 3,2*,2,3,1* 11+3 F. Garcia X,3,3,1 7 D. Ayres 3,1,1,1 6 REDCAR 29 L. Bjerre X,R,1,0 1 J. Bukhave 2,1,2,0,0 5 Rider replacement - Hugh Skidmore J. Andersen 2,0,2,2,2,0 8 D. Bellego 2,2,1,3,1,3 12 S. Nielsen 2,0,1,0,0 3 L. Payne X,0,0,0 0 Hope that's of help Yeah, your hunch is correct, seems you just missed Michael's or Jim (MBE) line-up change notification.
  10. Well said that man. Seems to be derived from the abbreviated "could've", "should've", "might've" becoming misspelt as should "of" (doh!!) when it is "have". Other annoying spelling errors are the mis-use of the word "of" mis-spelt as "off", and vice versa. Same with the word "too" mis-spelt as "to" and vice versa. One of the worst offenders for these is Blobby Although The Scotsman's spelling is always pretty much perfect. Although at times just as incomprehensible. To be clear: if something is too (much, big, hot, cold, etc) then it is definitely spelt too - it is never "to" (Blobby please take note! ) And if you are travelling to a place it is definitely to - it is never "too" (again Blobby please take note) If something is of note or referring to say a (rider name) of Edinburgh, then it definitely of - it is never "off" as is sometimes incorrectly written. And if a meeting is cancelled due to rain then the meeting is off - it is never "of" (Blobby probably isn't paying attention cos that's probably what he did at school too, hence his atrocious spelling and might also explain his mis-comprehension of speedway rules. ) Maybe his response will make use of at least one of these examples by correctly utilising the word "off" !! Well, was only trying to help y'know, Blobby's spelling has been so bad for so long now, ah well "too" bad, but look forward "to" his reply.
  11. Sounds good, sorry can't be there. Although to be honest, I'd rather bang Heidi Klum. Apologies.
  12. To be fair, that is pretty much the complete opposite of what the Speedway Updates forum said (direct quote): "FANTASTIC FROM KEVIN DOOLAN TO COME AND JOIN THE BANDITS FANS IN THE CROWD. SOME SHEFFIELD RIDERS WON'T WALK AN EXTRA 20 YARDS TO WAVE TO THEIR FANS...." Read more: http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/16154/premier-league-riders-championship-sheffield#ixzz4JyjVsGHA
  13. Of course, Martin Scarisbrick! Think he also rode for Belle Vue. But what a top 4 of Joe Owen 11 point ave, Rod Hunter 10.50 point ave, Bobby Beaton 10.20 point ave, Alan Emerson 8 point ave. Nobody could compete with that. Happy days.
  14. Been done many times before. And with only effectively 4 man teams as well (e.g. Joe Owen 11 point ave, Rod Hunter 10.50 point ave, Bobby Beaton 10.20 point ave, Alan Emerson 8 point ave, didn't matter what the other 3 did, they usually steamrollered everybody else away from home, as did Arena Essex in 91 season with a colossal top 3/4)
  15. Not at all. If I may put an alternative view, the "problem" is not at Reserve as such, its Nike Lunna dropping into the Reserve berth being injured and few options to cover. The up side is the form and continuing development of one of the starting reserves, Garcia, but also tbf Danny has been a revelation being his first year at this level and he puts his heart and soul into riding for Glasgow. Very sad to hear Tyrtrax, puts other things into perspective too. The Beatons did so much for Glasgow speedway.
  16. TBF Lawson's away form tends to be ok, Summers more variable away from home. Auty obviously rode like a World Camp but away from home I've fond him to be dire and hardly score a point. I guess that's speedway, home advantage influences things that bit more than other sports. Possibly. But remember for the Play-offs the top 6 out of only 13 clubs (about half) qualify, and a team with a 100% home record and only a couple of away points usually lands above halfway in the table.
  17. Maybe planning for a harsh winter as a grit substitute to sell to Glasgow City Council, layering it on track also saves the Council storing it in one o' them giant igloo shacks.
  18. I guess might depend on whether lump sum payments to buy new gear are used for the intended purpose or to pay off your bookie
  19. I'm not local, but Livingston you say. For a pint and grub I would recommend Black Bull Inn, Mid Calder - I don't think they do rooms (I could be wrong). it is run by a Monarchs supporter and he is an all round good egg. If they don't do rooms they would surely be able to point you in the right direction and in Livingston and surrounding area there is the usual Premier Inn, Holiday Inn Express, etc. Hope that's of help.
  20. Now now, tut tut! No need to be abusive. Any time I've been I've only paid the entrance fee, nowt else. A total of £17.50 fer me then, or as a quid only worth 30p these days, just over a fiver.
