hope NBJ is ok after his crash last night (looked awful) - good job it happened late in the meeting - if NBJ was out earlier on we would have lost by 10 points (no other reserve cover to speak of) we were lucky last night but will come unstuck on this soon - most teams in the league this year seem to have concentrated on getting 2 good reserves in place (shows why Poole sacked James S who wasn't riding that badly for them but have improved their reserve power)
-
well said Rob I have no interest in stock cars etc but do admire the way their meetings are run (I have been a few times to take grandchildren) fully agree with you about the state of speedway - the fans have been saying the same thing for years but nobody listened but now I fear it is too late. At Rye we do at least have a promotion who do listen and talk to the fans we just need a few more like them within the sport.

Various places - top of both bends ok also in the pits stand (old temp one) the replacement stand including refs box was not completely built but there will be good viewing from there. As I said after watching for a while I just got used to the viewing - we had similar viewing probs when air fences were first introduced but accept them as the norm now.
-
correct it is the scb - inspection was last thurs and guess the licence was issued - no sight lines for riders are blocked BUT just had a thought a fallen rider prob now wont be able to look up and see where his partner is and wont know whether to get the race stopped.
-
sorry mate way out of order - don't know where you work or what you do or (what your employer thinks of you etc) why the hell do you want to know everything about everybody? - its not censorship - I don't want to know what you are paid etc why do you want to know about everyone else?
-
know exactly what you mean - the practice was not an official p and p but just a session that happens most Sundays for all speedway riders (amateur and pro) - everyone will be able to see but may have to stand in a different place than usual - remember all the fuss about people not being able to see when air fences were introduced at all tracks - they are just accepted now

All I can say is well done BMR - so many problems now for speedway - any club that owns its own stadium has to now find ways of keeping a steady income no stadium can survive only being used 16 times in a year. The tv money is now virtually non-existent so what do stadium owners do? I was watching practice at the track last Sunday and yes I did find it a bit odd watching but I moved to somewhere where I could see properly and after a few minutes I did not really notice the new track as I could see a full lap perfectly well. The mx track hopefully will bring in extra income and keep speedway going because I can assure everyone that speedway still runs at a loss despite the larger crowd. In a way the mx track has already served its purpose as a new sponsor has come along because of it. I still think we have a very good team (perhaps other riders could have been used and everyone always knows best about who should be riding for us) - I know many avenues were explored to put a team together (it is so easy to say we should have ???? in the team etc BUT QUITE RIGHTLY many of the reasons why certain riders are not here are not made public but it does not mean that they were not considered ). I for one will be there supporting our 7 riders as long as speedway exists at Rye - I also guess the track inspection by the BSPA was passed on Thursday as I am sure the website was updated after it. So BRING IT ON lets hope for a good successful and very safe season for all the riders of all the clubs.

Well said unfortunately not everything that happens (and the reasons for them) can be posted on here but yes fully agree that if one talks to Steve you will always get a straight answer to a question. Don't know why there is such a great problem with there being no p and p - think the answer is obvious (but this is my guess) firstly the track was in no fit state because of the weather and when it was fit to ride on all of the riders were not available at the same time because of doubling up with other clubs - many of the team are already racing - still never mind I for one am looking forward to a good seasons racing at one of the best tracks in the country for close racing (only my view) - lets all hope for a safe and maybe a successful season

seems it is a positive move for the club - (not a useless one)

2018 Celebration of Speedway
startline sid replied to Dave Stummings's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
fully agree - usual story though why complain if anyone doesn't like it then simply don't go . -
Far too sensible thing to do - just can not believe some of the decisions ( 1 rider over 8 points) - they seem to want to self destruct the sport
-
guess you can't elaborate on that statement - hope your info is correct
-
I am sure they would gladly love to announce the last rider but perhaps they are not allowed to yet !!! 36.url
-
Seems to be the general rumour -. (Scotty apparently tweeted that we would all like the last signing) Hope you are well
-
think you must have missed the news post on the website on Oct 4th. Think we do have a seventh rider and there are so many hints around that most people seem to know who it is but I think politics have come into play (don't think it is anything to do with Max Cleggs average either
-
sorry Chris how many other clubs post regularly over the Winter to say what exactly they are doing on a daily basis? Why should they - guess why no gp riders are signed is the stupid rule about only one rider with over 8 point average (I very much doubt we voted for that rule either). Don't feel the team is too bad either but time will tell - all I remember at the end of last season many people I spoke wanted the same team but that was never possible because of the averages.
-
guess same thing as well
-
it wont be Ricky Wells (sadly) as he has already posted he is looking for a team place somewhere this season
-
Good to see yet another positive post
-
yes fully agree well done BMR and I think we all know that what ever they do it will be for the good of the club
-
fully agree years ago my kids always went to midweek away matches (oxford Crayford etc) - the proviso was that they had to get up and go to school the next day - what was the outcome?? - well now 40 years on they still go to speedway (and take their own children as well) - don't see the problem myself if anyone is determined and organised enough they can always fit things in (the reverse side is the children I used to know who did swimming training 5 days a week at 6am - no problem).
-
agree prob will be KK but there will ALSO be a gp rider as KK IS NOT ONE.
