  1. Yes and about time too - was at Leicester a few weeks ago and many people were asking why she was in the pits then - she was also seen in the pits at Wolverhampton in the tv match - always thought only mechanics were allowed in the pits during racing - obviously thinks the rule does not apply to her
  2. think it has to be a 'wind up post' - if its not then an evening of superb racing seems to be of little interest to them
  3. well said and things take time to get right but have every confidence that they will be sorted. This is the best year at Rye for a long time and long may it continue - I am not going to be specific but regarding one of the complaints by the original poster just remember there are 2 sides to every story - also well done to the BMR team at this weekend - not really into saloon cars but am trying to catch up with the sport
  4. Try going to Coventry stadium next Friday (June 3rd) - full programme of 1000cc sidecars plus supporting 500cc sidecar races. They held 2 meetings there last season and I think 4 are planned for this year. Four 1000cc outfits on the track at the same time - no problem but it does get a bit hectic at times
  5. hoping to go but not leaving till much later than usual as weather not looking good again
  6. many changes coming up with lots more work planned - everything good here this year
  7. I am 9 miles away - very cloudy but dry at present - can even see a little bit of sunshine
  8. just have to say as a neutral supporter last nights meeting was excellent - I don't watch elite league racing very often BUT last night was a great advert for it - i can not believe some of the negative posts I read about the elite league - bring it on I say
  9. website says 'track ok all systems go for tonight' - lets hope the weather does what it is supposed to
  10. Yes it was a really good meeting. There is lots of rubbish said about how bad the elite league is but it was a fine evenings racing with both teams really going for it.
  11. glad you enjoyed your visit - was good to see you again - perhaps we will see you again later in the year
  12. Was also very confusing at rye last sat when it was announced that tac rides were not allowed at all in this competition
  13. trouble is there may be a problem employing Aussie riders as I don't think their visa is transferable from one club to another
  14. If anyone is still not aware of who Guy Martin is watch ch4 on bank hol Monday next - he is attempting a new world speed record for riding on the wall of death - it is thought he is aiming for 80mph and it will be on a specially constructed extra large diameter wall as the standard size would make him too dizzy at that speed - this attempt is to be shown LIVE. Also heard last night as well as Guy being in the BMR sponsored flatrack team (bike already sorted) there is an even more famous road racing name who will be joining him (to be announced shortly - surely everyone has heard of him).
  15. just off on holiday - see you at p and p - if you have any spare time this weekend just go and look - you will be amazed and there is a lot more to come
  16. nothing of the sort just go and have a look - see you in 2 weeks
  17. for all the knockers on here please just wait till you actually go into the stadium before you pass comment. I walked round the track this pm it looks great - if I had spent as much money as has been spent on the track and seeing all the negative comments I would be a bit p***** off. The promotion may be new to speedway but they have been running a very successful 4 car team in the touring car champs for many years which is no mean feat. Everyone has been moaning for the past few seasons about the track, the team and dare I say it the team manager as well - yes there have been massive changes but isn't that what most people wanted!!!! I personally can not wait for the season to start - yes the team is not as strong as it could be but I can assure you there are some very good reasons for that - just bring it on and support the team when you consider some of the problems some clubs are having with their stadiums just be thankful that we still have one.
  18. totally agree must admit the fans do not know what has been going on but there have been so many problems that could not be discussed - yes give the new promotion a chance they certainly are spending a lot of money and really do have ambition
  19. see previous post go to Paradise park next Sunday - think you may find it has been very difficult to communicate what was going on due to all the planning problems
  20. work is well underway actually with a brand new safety fence being put in at present - there have been lots of planning problems but what work can go ahead is being done. People seem so negative about things but don't really understand the full story (far too long to put on here) and a lot of money is being spent - I think when the season starts people will be happier
