Ok I see, as I understand it will be a clean slate so to speak with the end of season averages being used
-
Oliver Greenwood is on a 3.00 according to the latest issued averages so would be eligible http://www.speedwaygb.co/files/downloads/pl15_issue_35.pdf
-
It is only riders who haven't attained a PL average greater than 3.00, Clegg etc are not included
-
As I understand it they aren't National League 3 pointers they are Premier League 3 pointers who are available to ride National League, examples would be Greaves, Williamson, both Greenwoods, Wajknecht, Carr, Blacklock, Spiller, Perks, Morley, Stokes or Shanes - basically those who have't attained an official Premier League average
-
Thank you to all who attended last night's do, hope you all had a good time! For those who weren't there the winners of the various prizes were - Most exciting rider - Kenneth Hansen Special Contribution to Workington Speedway - Laura Morgan Most Bonus Points - Matty Wethers Most Heat 15 Appearances - Ricky Wells Most Rider of the Night Awards - Kenneth Hansen Most improved average - Ricky Wells News and Star Rider of the Year - Ricky Wells Rene also confirmed he wouldn't be riding in the UK next year, concentrating on the leagues, we would like to wish him all the best for the future and thank him for his commitment to Workington Speedway

I didn't want the Berwick 2016 thread to get to 100 pages before ours had started! Will hopefully have plenty of information to share on this thread as the close season moves on.
-
With our fixtures now finished earlier than we hoped we can start to look forward to the 2016 season. For those who aren't aware Ricky Wells and Kenneth Hansen are the first two names on the team sheet for 2016, who else will join them? Obviously a lot depends on the upcoming Premier League AGM as to what new rules are introduced but nothing wrong with a bit of speculating as other teams seem to be doing In the meantime Comets fans can also vote for a couple of End of Season awards by contacting the Supporters Club on this link https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=932934203446202&id=462739960465631&fref=nf

Spent the morning at the track, had a heavy shower but not much since, all will be ok as long as there are no further heavy prolonged showers this afternoon. Cookie will fancy a track record tonight, but so will Kenneth and Ricky... -

Team news - following his impressive showing last week Hynek Stichauer guests in place of Matty Wethers and it's R/R for Rusty. For Edinburgh it's R/R for the Longtracking Erik Riss and local lad Ryan Blacklock is in for Max Clegg who is in the British Under 19s There will also be the rider interviews and final NJL meeting following the main meeting where the Northside Stars can claim the league title with a win -
Apologies Ruffdiamond, I was answering HadrianDog's question Getting my Geordie's mixed up
-
I am in no way saying George English didn't try his upmost to get the best possible guest for Newcastle, of course he did, but it is not Kenneth's fault that 17 riders were unavailable. In my first statement I was answering Ruffdiamond's question as to 'how injured Kenneth was', and he was genuinely injured, he missed our meeting as well as yours. We published an article on our website on Wednesday night so by Thursday morning it will have been known he was unavailable, so it wasn't a 'fantasy statement', 36 hours should be enough in normal circumstances to find a guest, the fact that it wasn't is of course annoying. I share everyone's frustrations about the lack of available riders, I was assisting Jacko in finding a guest for Matty when he crashed riding for yourselves on Friday leaving us the prospect of using a mid ranking NL guest until Ashley Morris kindly changed his plans.
-
It's not fantasy at all, it's perfectly true that a day and a half should be enough to find another guest. The fact that there aren't enough riders or riders were unavailable is a different argument all together

That was one of the best meetings I've seen, full credit to the Glasgow team and fans for playing their part -
Kenneth crashed on Wednesday, he missed the Comets meeting on Thursday and your meeting on Friday in order to be as ready as he could be for Saturday, riding for his home team in front of his own fans. He had physio on Thursday and rested Friday. He came in after Heat 14 and said he couldn't do anymore but after a chat with Jacko he went out in 15 and did the business, he was and still is in a lot of discomfort. The Newcastle management will have known by Thursday morning at the latest that he wasn't available and had time to find someone else

MEETING TO OPENLY DISCUSS THE FUTURE OF WORKINGTON SPEEDWAY Workington Speedway would like to invite everyone who supports or follows or just cares about the Comets to attend an open forum meeting on Friday 4th September in the Waverley Hotel, Workington starting at 7pm. We must stress that no decisions have been made about anything relating to the Comets and the future and this meeting is to engage with fans on an open basis to proactively come up with a plan for the future. Please ensure as many fans are aware of this meeting so we can get as many people attending as possible. Thanks Laura

Originally that was the case, we were made aware at the start of the season and the fixture list was compiled accordingly. However when the stadium became available it still wasn't worthwhile agreeing a fixture when we have our top lads missing. Edinburgh have been offered dates but none of which were suitable due to their rider availability
-
Workington are not riding on the 22nd because Ricky is riding for Wolves, Kyle is riding for the Under 21s, Rusty is still injured and if the Danish final goes into its spare day then we would be without Rene as well. Don't think the home fans would appreciate us taking on the top team with 3 guests and R/R
