  1. Don't know why you're asking the question, bet you know the answer
  2. Yes shambolic but I'm not sure why your suggesting the referee had some part in this. Jack Thomas came out in correct blue helmet colour well on time and lined up at right gate, gate 2. Sarjeant came out late also with blue helmet colour. Someone runs across centre green, don't know who but wearing tigers colours so presumably a pit member of some sort and rips off jacks helmet cover and replaces it with a red one. al this with the clock ticking down to zero. Thomas wearing the red colour then gets told to move to gate 4 and sarjeant goes into gate 2. by now the 2minute clock has expired and the ref has no option to disqualify both as they had wrong helmet colours and in the wrong gate position. A pity jack is just a young lad as a more experienced rider would have told the guy changing his colour where to go. And to compound the farce Jack is the one that gets taken out of the race. So sarjeant makes mistake , pit staf make mistake in changing Jack's cover then team manager basically shafts jack. I hope the promotion/team manger/sarjeant or whoever compensates Jack because at least he would have earned something from the race by getting the third place point!
  3. Enjoyed tonight. Took a few heats for us to get going but after that we looked good. Harris and Worrall seemed to have shaken off there bike problems and for Sheffield Wright was excellent. Main talking point heat 14, what was that all about?
  4. So how did it go and was the crowd better due to this extra attraction. Genuine question nothing more....
  5. Whats that got to do with this thread. Start a new topic or post it in Glasgow 2018
  6. in addition to the ones I suggested? Ok, how about having a 3 week break in your initial fixture list; who thinks that is a good way to attract and retain a crowd . as another poster pointed out you will be playing catch up and could even be out of the competition before you've really got started, which is sad cos on paper you are better than Berwick and Edinburgh and with our tentative start to the season you would likely beat us on Saturday. But hey I'm not really bothered when the match takes place but when it does I hope you get the crowd you deserve
  7. No idea if Glasgow was invited or not. All I'm saying is that they are willing to come this Saturday. Would have thought with workys problems they would want a meeting ASAP. There riders will want to earn some money, the promotion will want to remind there fans that speedway exists and that the problems reported on here by jenga and co have been solved. Throw in the fact that the Tigers haven't clicked yet gives you a great opportunity to win and qualify for the next stage. You also can rely on a big travelling support as we don't have a home match. If you prefer to run it when the group has already been decided and therefore no travelling support, then that is up to you
  8. It doesn't matter what Glasgow can do/ They would be eligible for a guest and the way Chris and Richie have ridden so far a guest would probably not make us any worse. A bit like charles wright guesting for you and helping you beat Edinburgh
  9. maybe the BSPA should take your advice - clearly well thought through - and declare the Worky v Edinburgh result void, as you used Charles Wright (guest) and Bradley Wilson-Dean (guest).
  10. ok, but he did become world u-21 champion in 1993 and appeared in the Grand Prix from 1996-2001 finishing 6th in 1999. Not many Englishmen have achieve that, particularly in recent years.
  11. Tell who to go and multiply. Bspa or Glasgow Lots of posters suggest that the lack of fixtures is a joke, no one wants to come and race Workington, and we'll never get the shield finished. Glasgow seems to have agreed to come so why not run a match. I'm sure a guest would be allowed for any rider if they are racing in Poland or official fixture
  12. What ultimately happened to Joe Screen - he retired after an excellent career where he entertained 1000s of people here and abroad.
  13. Well Jose has done it on a good few occasions, it's called class
  14. Potential answers - Lots of riders buy new equipment each year, can result in problems; not able to test due to all tracks being 5 feet under water; tuners inundated by riders not happy with their engine. As Bagpuss says happens every year. From a Glasgow point of view our two best riders not scoring to their full potential and we are doing ok Could be scary for some poor team when they all fire on the same day!
  15. Think a few people might have decided not to attend because of the rain in the Glasgow area. They missed a good meeting, as others have said and the track staff actually had to water the track. Also well done to them they had obviuously prepared the track for the forecast rain and there approach worked a treat. Pity we don't have a meeting next weekend but already looking forward to the visit of Sheffield.
  16. Hope the track staff have kept an eye on the weather forecast as it keeps changing. with the warm sunny weather yesterday the track will need watering and with a heavy shower forecast c lunchtime that should do the trick. met office saying it should be dry from 2-c5pm . So hopefully we'll be treated to a good aftenoons racing
  17. I'm glad the track is always well prepared at Armadale otherwise goodness knows what might have happened
  18. Have to agree, looks as if promoters aren't taking this competition seriously otherwise we'd have dates for the Worky rain-offs. Whats the point in having spare dates in the fixture list if they are not used. can see the final being run in October!
  19. An easy win for the Monarchs. Glasgow have suffered lots of engine problems and aren't clicking as a unit. And surely a bit of poetic licence when you say riders 'like' the place. I honestly don't know anyone that likes it Monarchs by 10.
  20. There's been lots and lots of rain offs in the UK and now it's to hot - love it
  21. Paul accepting a one off booking as a guest has got nothing to do with whether he is getting more money at Glasgow. Its the start of the season if you can't pay your guests after the meeting you are in deep doodoo so why not add to his income. Chris Harris expressing disappointment that Edinburgh speedway postponed a meeting at the last minute is a lot different from what you said. There is enough misinformation going around without you adding to it
  22. Are you sure it was more wonga or was it the knowledge they would get paid what they were due and on time. And pray explain what Chris has been saying about the long drive
  23. They've posted photos on official Facebook page. Track looks OK and no more rain forecast so they seem confident it will be on
