  1. That's half the problem. Havvy keeps defending Sarjeant's dodgy starts. At least he does on social media, don't know what he does behind closed doors. On this one occasion, he was innocent. I'm not sure how the ref justified excluding both Cov riders anyway. If it was an unsatisfactory start, then the race was over before Garrity did his torpedo impression. The right call IMO was to exclude Garrity and re-run with Sarjeant 15 metres back again. He'd have likely scored a point, that point still wouldn't have made a difference to the outcome, but would've given fans a lot less to be unhappy about. Biased refs are bad for the sport no matter what your club allegiance. Looks like this guy is to Coventry what Turnbull is to Poole.
  2. I'm a Poole fan, and I think Sarjeant is one of the worst offenders in the league when it comes to jump-starts. However, the ref made a bad call on that re-run. Sarjeant did not jump that start. Oh he jumped the first one, and I'm also pretty sure he rolled on the heat he won too (replay didn't show it from the angle I needed to see and I didn't care enough to rewind) but the ref called that exclusion wrong. I do agree however with his call on Garrity. NKI was brilliant tonight and Lindgren a great choice of guest. Plus this was a good result for Poole, so that's all good
  3. This is win win for me. If the Poole meeting is on, I'll be there and watch the Sky meeting when I get home. Or it's not and I watch the Sky meeting from home. Every forecast I've seen looks horrible though. I actually hope it's postponed to be honest. I can't think of a decent replacement for Gomolski at home, and while our guys don't mind riding in slop, I'd much rather watch a 15 heat meeting full of good racing in a couple weeks than a 10 heat meeting of tentative racing tomorrow.
  4. Some good racing tonight. I expected Ward to be impressive. Although I think the last ride showed how he's matured a bit, I think Darcy of old would've fallen for Nicki's tactic. Really impressed by Pawlicki, Max and MJJ tonight also. Looks like Indianerna had a good one also.
  5. The more I've read about the meeting, the more I understand Rosco. Why should Cook have been given 10 minutes for throwing his toys out of the pram? He shouldve been given 2 minutes like anyone else and excluded if he didn't make it, just like he was earlier. Anyone know why he was so stroppy? He seemed to be riding well.
  6. Looks like Sky picked the wrong meeting to cover this week, and that's from a Poole fan. Good job from the Aces, Bad job from the ref.
  7. So happy to see Dak doing what I know he's capable of. He seems much happier in second string. I just wonder if psychologically he puts too much pressure on himself at heat leader. Kacper is getting better and better at Wimborne Rd. If he raises his away game a little bit he'll be a weapon in the playoffs. I'd be disappointed if we changed the team now. We've rarely had a meeting where everyone was firing on all cylinders but whenever someone has been off, usually others have upped their game. I've said before but this 1-7 is capable of winning the league and I think they've all deserved the opportunity to prove it.
  8. Belle Vue have been our Kryptonite this year. Could be a close one.
  9. So next year Swindon gets Doyley back, we get Darcy back. And all's right in the world.
  10. Well I had fun. Saw some brilliant overtakes from Janowski, Starke and North. Gomolski had a good night. In fact everyone had a good night. Racing a bit one-sided, but then it should've been. If only we could perform nearly as well away as we've been performing at home.
  11. I like THJ, but I certainly wouldn't give up 2 of our current riders for him.
  12. It's the Elite League, it should have more elite riders in it. If the average restrictions were less strict, all teams would have access to more options. I agree with you that it would be a shame if it is average manipulation, but you'd also see less of that if the restrictions were relaxed. Admittedly I'm biased as I would like nothing more than us being able to get Ward without losing Holder or Magic. Mainly as I'm not sure I trust Ford to make Magic the priority he should be, but surely it's better for the league as a whole if it's not limited to 16 riders over 7? Although maybe finding more than 16 over 7 riders who actually want to race in the UK is a struggle, but that's its own problem.
  13. Not riding like this. We'd be lucky to take a point at this stage.
  14. Sad thing is, I actually want to believe this is what's happening!
  15. He's making a habit of it when he rides away for Poole. At all other times he's brilliant. I don't get it.
  16. If even Magic can't win heats, we're in trouble. Always hard to tell with only Twitter updates, but it seems like we're riding badly tonight.
  17. From what I could gather, Josh was understandably really shaken and unfortunately seemingly blaming himself for the accident. It is always horrible when something like this happens, and no matter what the result of this meeting, my thoughts (and I'm sure many other Speedway fans, regardless of club) are with Lewis Kerr and his family. I really can't see Josh being in a fit state to ride mentally. I think he needs a little time off and support. Under the circumstances, I'm sure the Aces will be fielding a replacement. As so many BV riders have a connection with the incident, postponing the meeting might be the fairest idea, if the scheduling allows for it.
  18. He did that on Wednesday as well, the only reason he didn't win a race. It's actually possibly my favourite thing about Darcy. He's got great track awareness and always looks out for his teammates. A skill that a lot of top riders don't have. Don't have to worry about any split loyalties tonight, rooting for a Robins win. For as long as you have Darcy, you're my second favourite team in the league.
  19. I wouldn't read too much into Gomolski's celebration. He loves showing off for the crowd, always has done. I've seen him racing around popping wheelies when everyone else was still doing practice starts at the beginning of the meeting. He doesn't need an excuse. Besides it was probably more of a celebration of his night as a whole. I've made my opinion of Dak elsewhere on here, it hasn't changed. All of our riders have had rough patches this year, all have bounced back. I see no reason why Dak can't do the same. He always gives 100% effort and he has talent, I have faith he'll come good. I honestly can't see how Matt Ford can improve the team under the current averages right now. He runs the risk of doing more harm than good imo
  20. I ran out of fingers and toes sorry. But bigger turnout than the finals last year by my eye. At the risk of sounding dumb, I don't follow, Peterborough? Was a more comfortable win than I expected, but fun night out, atmosphere was good. Aside from the shocking refereeing I have no complaints.
  21. Start delayed because Ward is so popular we can't get everyone in! I'm not joking! Weather is perfect, massive crowd this has the making of a great meeting.
  22. Right this moment, I'm at Wimborne Rd and it's beautiful. This being the Dorset coast however, that could change in a heartbeat.
  23. If Magic wants to race in the UK next year, Matt Ford would be crazy to let another club get him. Even if that means not having both of the Turbo Twins
  24. He's enjoying his time in Swindon no doubt, glad you guys are giving him a good time, but he's still talking about coming back to us in every article I read about him.
