  1. Agree with that. Add TJ with his 3.78 away average and it's looking like the same old already. We will suffer away in the engine room dept again by the look of it so far. TJ said himself this week it's easy to set the bike up at the AFA, and he knows he has to do better away, but this will be his 4th season and things ain't improving away from home. I know I keep banging on about it, but if I can see it.... Buster can't have no ambition to win anything...again At home 16 HT wins and 12 second places. Away 2 HT wins and 7 second places. He's a nice bloke, but nice don't win you the league sometimes...
  2. The 43.97 does flatter the Stars unfortunately. The top 6 riders averaged only 33 away from home. Lynn's engine room were really poor and, and Buster signs 2 of the worst culprits Home Lewis and TJ 14.11 Away 7.78 .. (TJ 7.71 home and 3.78 away. Lewis 6.40 Home and 4.00 away. Some of that at reserve). Wish them well, but it doesn't scream ambition to me. Oh well on the the next one
  3. I see Ander's Dad knows his stuff having been on the spanners for Zagar and others. He has 6 good Ashtech motors as well, and they don't come cheap. He must have some good backing and equipment. That's a big help this day and age., but of course as we all know, he has to ride the bikes, and he is inexperienced. With his Dad spannering for him, he will be able to keep a close eye on him, and no doubt advising him. It's probably is a season early, but as long as he has a sensible head on his shoulders and a good team around him, who are honest with him and won't let him go on to long like Jack Smith did, if he does find it to hard, I don't think it will do him any harm to give it a go as long as he realises he is very young and if he isn't enjoying it, take a step back from the PL, it's not the end of the world, gain a bit more experience and try again in a season or two. Wish the young man all the best for 2020 season and beyond. Will be keeping an eye out to see how he's doing.
  4. I think PK is a good second string at best, a 7 ish average. Killer has a bad year as far as I can see by reading posts. If offered reasonable money, might give it a go. Do you mean Greg as in Hancock?. I would be surprised with his wifes health and the fact hes 50 and must be a millionaire?. Riding in the wet and cold on indifferent tracks, and traveling.
  5. I doubt that team will pick up many points on the road. TJ and Lewis had the biggest differences in their home and away averages last season. Unless …
  6. Seen that, and Lewis the first declared. Hope i'm wrong..
  7. Buster owns the place. Must make thinks a lot easier and cheaper. Plus the stadium gets used for other things.
  8. "We will try and go one better next season" that's what gets me. That's what was said after topping the league and only loosing in the play off through late injuries to NKI and MPT. We also had the best away record in the league in 2018 as well. What we got was 2nd from bottom and probably the worst away record in the league. After 50 odd years of trying to win the top flight, it was great to see the Stars do so well. I know it's early doors yet and on 5.43 Lewis could well be in the 1-5. Erik, TJ, Lewis, and MPT averaged 18.44 between the 4 of them away from the AFA in 2019, and 29.12 at home. Lets hope Buster's calculator is working as it should. Still looking forward to the next reveal, hoping for some changes that will improve things on the road
  9. Your right about TJ. Nice bloke, and good to watch around the AFA, but needs pastures new. I know you not really interested, but if you take a look at these stats, I think you will be surprised, and see where some of us Stars fans are coming from.. Home 7.71 Away 3.78 1st 16 1st 2 2nd 12 2nd 7 3rd 9 3rd 14 4th 3 4th 11 Home and away is like night and day At the end of last season the team manager said something on the lines of " it's no good having riders that can score a maximum at home and hardly anything away". We shall see.
  10. Agree Tel. Must be at reserve for me too. With an average of 5.43 after the 2.5% reduction he would be the senior reserve. Or could well be in the 1-5 with that average, depending on the others signed. Nice to have a local rider, but we can't have many more with such a big gap in home any away performances if we want to make the play offs. Home 6.40 Away 4.00. 1st 15 1st 8 2nd 13 2nd 5 3rd 17 3rd 13 4th 7 4th 18 As you say ,he needs to improve his away form. IF we do get the 3 most want back.... Robert, Cookie and Erik, add Lewis to that and you are left with 15.27 for the other 3 riders.
  11. You beat me to it. Daniel.. Couldn't of put it better myself With riders names being bandied about , Lynn riders ain't being mentioned by anyone. That gets me thinking.. I realise Buster has probably got most of the team sorted, but the lack of last years team being mention elsewhere makes me wonder.
  12. With the lack of Lynn's 2019 team being announced elsewhere, not sure if it bodes well in the second string department. Surley not same old with a change to get to 42.50 Sheffield and Swindon look to be setting the pace Is Buster loosing money at Peterborough going to affect the Stars again
  13. Nope. But you can take your pick, as long it ain't Lambo,Cook or Riss. Realistically there won't be 4 changes so expect another one from your team in the side.
  14. Not bad that Baggy. I would like Charles Wright, but as said I think he's sorted. If there was a choice I would have Toby over MPT, harsh on MPT, but Toby is on a bargain average I think. Probably Hans over Lawson if he is not Peterborough bound.
  15. Well, i'll welcome any title for the Stars.. We seem to be unbeatable in that department, unfortunately
  16. Would be a great signing for any team on a 5.79 average. Given a injury free season, Hans should put a point on that without to much trouble. You suffered last season through his injury so it would only be right that you benefit from his low average next season.
  17. Riders will tune anything to get an advantage. All the work is done in the cylinder head and camshaft. The modern top riders speedway bike puts out around 75-78 bhp at the crank @ silly revs, 13500+ rpm ish, which is silly revs for a single cylinder 4 stroke. Hence they need work after 30 miles. 800cc is huge for a single, and would weigh more, but in mild/ standard state of tune that might last 80 races or so ( 80 miles) might put out around 65 bhp.. Which is plenty really, but riders will always have work done to increase power for big tracks, and to change where the engine puts out it's power. Sealed engine is the only way to stop this I think. The thing is, when you make an engine that can go a long time before work, it's an engine that goes off the boil ( for competition use) after a while due to a loss of compression. While on the road 3 of 4 bhp would be hard to notice for most. On a speedway track, it's huge.
  18. Bump for Shovvy. You should of sponsored them if they meant that much to you Shovvy. You said you had £1m turnover in the art trade, a season or two ago. That and the £50k TV deal should of kept Poole in the Prem. Feel for some Poole fans on here, and wish you the best in the CL.
  19. Pretty sure they do. If correct, making Ellis 6.33, Perks 3.48 , leaving room for a 4 pointer at No. 6, if Rosco can find another gem.
  20. He was great at home, but his averaged dropped by 4 points away. Home 7.71 Away 3.78. That's huge. The biggest gap in the league I would of thought. As you know the Stars got nothing on the road last season. A few changes are needed if we want a play off place. We need to pick points up on the road in 2020. I'm not saying change the whole team, but Lynn's engine room needs to be better next season if they are serious about winning things. We had to many flying around the AFA, but poor away. Not picking on any one rider, but a few stats...... Last places...…... Home TJ 3 ...….. Away 11 Erik 1...…. Away 10 MPT 3..... Away11 Lewis 7...... Away 18
  21. I thought it was all British riders get it. Someone will be along to confirm either way I guess. With 2.5% reduction for King …. 25.95, leaving 16.55 Without … 26.12, leaving 16.38
