The 2 clubs that took the pot of gold were Kings Lynn and Birmingham so are you suggesting that Birmingham are own by Buster Chapman as well as Kings Lynn. Not particularly keen on the bloke myself can still picture him going round the showground in the seventies trying to ride a speedway bike he was very much crap then.

Is Oxford a viable stadium these ,could it be used seeing as it closed down when Mick Horton was the last promoter there would anyone want speedway back at Cowley under his control and would the hardcore Coventry supporters be willing to travel there . If it was viable why hasn't any would be promoter taken a chance with it.

You have remember this is not a sportsground , it is a showground and speedway may bring in regular income throughout the season but compared to what revenue the landlords get from the speedway it is only chicken feed to what they get from the various shows that take place, hence speedway is the poor relations.

If Buster thinks it's a good idea Coventry riding on another track , let them ride at Kings Lynn.

They will need them to get there two main sponsors name titles printed on them.

Anyone know if it's been done yet and how long would it benefit speedway before it gets knackered up by other events on the showground.

Even if they did give twelve months notice regarding fixtures and showground management took it on board it would make little difference for getting first with the booking because as soon as another party came in wanting to book a date for a lucrative show they would tell speedway this date is no longer available it's been done on more than one occasion in the past. Can you please tell me what club would try to arrange fixtures when they wouldn't know what league they would be in or what other clubs they would be facing or probably still have to agree a lease not knowing whether they would have to pay increase charges for stadium rental.

The showground management will tell the Peterborough speedway what dates are available , they are the landlords and if they say speedway will not race on any given date that is final. So Crazy b what are you suggesting.

Showground management want the speedway but on there terms. Speedway are the poor relations as far as showground management are concerned. So it's take it on there terms or not at all.

Yes they do, it is entirely up to the showground management as to which dates they will allow speedway . Panthers management have to adhere to what dates are given to them. When certain showground events take place even if it is a weekday event there is no guarantee that they will allow speedway on the sunday either side of the event. That is the biggest problem with the showground ,it might be a nice venue but speedway fixtures have to be fitted in to suit showground management unfortunately. I would love it if they could find a piece of land and build our own circuit but I can't see that happening anytime soon.

Good luck to Coventry and I hope they get some good news and carry on , it would be a shame to lose them with such circumstances that have been going on behind the scenes, and now a word for Mick Horton , if you find yourself out on your ar5e at Coventry when the dust has settled please don't try and worm your way back to the showground, we' don't want you back.

Shame on all those who seem to be putting down these lads who rode the Australian championships , these lads are coming 12,000 miles to entertain you so the least you can do is give the boys a chance and it would be nice if the knockers welcomed them instead of ridiculing them, give them some encouragement, the same kind of encouragement I hope all those national league 2 pointers are going to get. If you don't it begs the question why do you go to speedway meetings.

I suppose that's better than keep bumping in to things, A and E are busy enough as it is.

What about peddle cycles , they should have to be insured as well, then maybe they would be more careful and more respectful to other road users and pedestrians.
