  1. If non Polish riders sign for British clubs they should be made to honour that agreement and if they then get offered rides in Poland that will affect there British engagements and insist on going then they should be banned from British speedway . Its time the BSPA got tough with the Polish authorities and let them know that we are not going to be messed about just to suit there needs. No rider is bigger than any club side and they should be seriously made to understand this whoever the rider is. Come on BSPA do your job that's what you are there for don't be put off or frightened by the Polish dictatorship . Show them that you have some bottle for once.
  2. Mick Horton is not Peterborough based he resides in Market Deeping which is between 15 to 20 miles outside of Peterborough and it is classed as in Lincolnshire although it has a PE postcode . With his luck and judgement I think he's making the correct decision to get out of the promoting side of the sport, anybody who would want to spend £200,000 on a venture that had a max lifespan of only 3 years is not in there right mind. but it doesn't surprise me he's got his fingers burnt once again.
  3. Maybe it's stuck in the usual Manchester approach traffic jam is this wonderful stadium, that's why nobody can find it not even google earth. Just as well it only holds 6000 people.
  4. I wouldn't be surprised if they amalgamate the two leagues in 2018 and divide them in two divisions , north and south.
  5. Rick Frost was the person to bail out Panthers when Colin Horton got into financial difficulties after taking over from Mick Horton ,and when Rick decided to pull out of promoting he rented the lease to Mick Horton who took out a 2 year deal but midway through the 1st season Ged Rathbone came on board and bailed him out. and at the end of the season Horton said he would not continue for a second season.
  6. And twice we were on the verge of closing down when he was in charge. As for his entry to the showground meetings , he can do that because he's a BSPA member. There was an issue with air fence panels which seemed to find there way to Coventry amongst several other things that still rankles with Panthers supporters
  7. We don't want anything to do with Horton at Peterborough, been there done that and had to pick up the pieces manually and financially . Anyway how many Bees supporters would travel as I couldn't see many Panthers fans going to swell the crowd for anything that involves Horton as he's not welcome at Peterborough.
  8. I honestly don't know , it was ages ago when I wrote that quote , it seems like history now and long gone.
  9. Agree with your comments I can't see anyway for the Bees ever moving back to Brandon and would be surprised if they last the season out at Leicester sadly.
  10. Arsenal overachieved last night then didn't they.
  11. Not a fours lover myself either , much prefer league or cup racing format ,but I shall miss it anyway as I fly out to Australia on family visit/holiday on the 4th.August for 16 days .
  12. How about 2groups of 5 over 10 heats each team to miss out on 2 races with 4 riders in each race for semi finals and then a 16 heat final between winners and runners up from semi finals.
  13. Showground did it in the world cup a few years ago and I certainly wouldn't want to see it again , I like to see riders being able to race and not being impeded by other riders intentional or unintentional. Maybe ok on grasstrack but not in speedway.
  14. Yes it could have been something to build on having an annual 2 day festival , after the initial year then improvements could have been made to build up a successful pilgrimage for speedway die hards.
  15. As far as I am aware the showground is unavailable for a 2 day event for speedway this year.
  16. Question for Bee's fans, does anybody know when Brandon estates were established ,sounds to me that it is very recent and well covered over with it being registered in the Channel Islands smacks as being very suspicious as to it's authenticity.
  17. If your team is Newcastle or Ipswich that would be a pretty raw deal . In the70's if your #1 or any of the top 5 were out injured R/R was the only option unless they were on international duty then a guest was allowed.
  18. I am not against the idea as I am all for youngsters coming through the system but there is a danger about weakening the product too much which has to be taken into account . Perhaps all reserves should be 2 pointers only maybe a better idea . Can you imagine if for instance Robert Lambert or Steve Worrall got seriously injured early on and was out for the rest of the season would supporters be happy with a 2 pointer replacing him.
  19. Get real nobody suggested they were did they.
  20. And long may it continue it would also be nice to see 1 or 2 Scottish riders break into the championship at some stage , like always used to be .
  21. Wrong Glasgow are a Scottish based team without a Scottish born rider .
  22. You actually think it will prosper with no supporters , no riders , no promoters and no stadiums , your having a laugh you must come from planet janet , or maybe you should see your doctor and get your tablets changed.
  23. I'm not so sure on the Peterborough collection I could be wrong but I have no recollection of it on the net or in the local press but as I don't do facebook or twitter I can't be certain of who's pocket that money went in.
  24. I don't do facebook unfortunately, (Jeremy Kyle warned me against it)
