Belle Vue v Leicester 20/8/18
Sidney the robin replied to Rob B's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Ask Freddie Flange that question Pinny ? my opinion of Auty is that he has always been a favourite of mine.He is a entertertainer and at his best ask the Scunny fans he can be brilliant certainly around Scunny but his Achilles heel is his gating always has been. Also i think if the league goes to one big league with a full season his average will be a lot higher he showed at Belle Vue/Somerset he can still mix it at PL level. -

The continuing decline of Speedway

He does not see the same meeting's as most of us he is Stevie Wonder in disguise.!!!! -
Would you carry on supporting Somerset Gresh if Swindon closed ? or would you just give up.I know it is a long shot but the only other option might be Oxford for us Swindon fans still a glimmer of hope there.

Loved Hitchy and his dive bombing antics he is one of my all time favourite Budgies.

NO WORD FROM THE BSPA
Sidney the robin replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
No problem with that forget the big hitters and get a team together that each can afford i like the idea of one big league. It can work let's get teams where the fans can identify with the riders again just like we used to but the main objective is to make speedway an enjoyable night out again. -
Not to worried about this year, but i am very worried about the Robins long term i cant see there being a future i am expecting the worse. If so that could be it for me Speedway wise can't see me being ass... to go to Somerset everyweek we shall see.

I would differ with the poor crowds considering they have held up quite well especially with it being World Cup year that was a bloody nuisance. Also with the uncertainty surrounding the club thing's could of been worse Lee Kilby doing a great job doing his best to push the club forward commercially.

Here come the . . . CZECHS - your memories?
Sidney the robin replied to TonyMac's topic in Backtrack Magazine
Zdenek Kudrna RIP was a really exciting rider he rode in a 1979 double header at the Abbey for Exeter on a dark dismal October/November?? night the conditions were awful but he gave everything.Jiri Stancl i believe was a class act and if he had rode in Britain more regularly he would of been an even better rider Toni Kasper (jnr) RIP was my favourite all time Czech's a really classy rider. -
Is that a serious question? as long as we have a team i will be happy.

The Wolves track before the changes i can remember it being a decent track now it is the biggest homer in the PL by a mile.Lakeside/Eastie used to also have home advantage i think those two tracks have improved thank god Belle Vue now have the British Final a proper racetrack. -

You take great delight in knocking Auty Steve, i don't know why he is averaging nearly a point more than your man Howarth in the PL.If the leagues did get together Auty would average more because some of the tracks in the PL are dreadful naming Swindon in amongst them you can't race for toffee.Swindon,Poole,Wolves ( a real homer massive home advantage) Leicester, are truly poor tracks now gate and go.In the PL you have a few tracks you can at least race on Scunthorpe/Somerset/Belle Vue(the best),.tracks easily the best in the U.K. -
The ROLL of HONOUR says otherwise i am proud of Briggo being World Champion and now Doyley and Jason has more title's left in him yet.

Race for the Top 4
Sidney the robin replied to ReadingRacer2017's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I hope i am wrong and that we can sneak a point at Poole and beat Poole/Belle Vue at home but really Swindon don't deserve to make the play/offs.Away we have been awful and with that top five we have we should of collected more points on the road.On the serious side the worrying thing is there has been no comments from the club on the future of the club and in my book that just is not good anough. -

People who can gate like Madsen and Cook always have a chance of having good careers and both have.Madsen probably is not far of getting in the GP series and has been in good form generally all year. -
So Geoff you missed Briggo's first four wins in the BLRC but you were lucky to see him from 1969 onwards. That is a massive regret of mine that i never see him race at that great Hyde Rd circuit i did go there quite a few times from 1975 onwards though which was great my favourite meeting there was the wet 1983 BLRC Lee got his act together beat Nielsen in a run off for a rostrum place Erik won it.

Freddie he is better than Berge and Riss, Berge is a talent but really inconsistent over a period also i do have a lot of time for Riss as well.
