Wolves V Swindon 22nd May
Sidney the robin replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I disagree on Gappmaier in the scheme of things his creditable four points really helped us get a point i could not see Grondal scoring 4 points not at Wolves anyway. -

Kings Lynn V Rye House 24/5/17
Sidney the robin replied to tellboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This is a match where for me we will actually see where King's Lynn are at the moment they really impressed me last week at the Abbey. This meeting looks routine but it could be a banana skin for the home team but i think maybe a ten point home win if Porsing can up his game and Holder can improve to his proper level Lynn look promising. -

This Wolves side looks very formidable, even young Greaves chipping in with points in all leagues now and Riss/Schlien being astute signings to.With Swindon i really want them to do well awkward really but in the back of our minds most Budgie fans know there has to be changes. An easy home win a massive home advantage damage limitation for the Budgies. -
Tatum and Doncaster were two who went full time in a tough BL and both went on to be very good riders.Like you never a fan of Tatum to be honest, see him ride the pairs with Carter and he blossomed after that and was superb on the longtrack. In that era i rated Eviits (he underachieved) and later on Louis/Loram both terrific riders.

Nick going really well now getting momentum,Dany whether we keep him or not looked promising on Thursday and he is an interesting rider for the future.
-
You really do put a great case across, and you did see alot of Todd but most of it is of what he COULD of done.😀 Billy out of all the American riders i saw along with Hancock never really did anything for me.They both had superb careers though Ricko i was not a fan and me personally would not put him anywhere near Mauger/Fundin again it is just my personnal preference.Nicki P well he has really overachieved the pantomine villain who has been great box office for years and his record stands up well.Again along with Crump junior and Olsen for me Pedersen is not close to those two and even though Gollob only won one title i rate him higher than Pedersen.

Your post i can certainly agree with WK !!! 😜 and identify with Lee if we are all honest he was a nightmare a great rider though and my overall feeling of Lee was he really buggered up his career.Great rider though and 83 and other years Lee beat Nielsen/Erik quite often and had a great head/head record and he defeated Carter who was mega talented at that time quite regularly.🤓
-
WK Lee how dare you 🤓Kennett was one i was not a lover of good rider and really he would of been great at the Abbey he had a great record there.Olsen was one of my heroes and is certainly one of the best riders i have ever seen but it is your opinion WK and i respect that and that is what the forum is about.😜

Was thinking about some of the riders over the years who never really did anything for me personally but still achieved great things.Riders who come to mind for me personally were Rickardsson, Hamill,Jessup,N.Pedersen, Bo.Petersen,Bastable,Hancock,Niemi,Ulamek,Wiltshire, again i will stress most of those mentioned achieved great things.

Belle Vue V Swindon Friday 19th May
Sidney the robin replied to STEPHEN 333's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Great point for the Robins really pleased with that Bjerre is going great guns at the moment fair play to him for sticking at it over the years.Bjerre in a way is like Doyley both have had horrendous injuries over the years but both must be mentally tough to have overcome them.Bjerre also has always had great kit so this superb Belle Vue track really suits him i believe he has a chance of getting back in the GP series again this year. -
Doyle really looked quick last night and in one race he even looked to take it easy and young Lambert made in roads on him.For Doyle he looks like he has a real crack at being WC this year i really hope so great to see him ride most weeks. For Lynn Rose has really kicked on come on alot looks comfortable in the top 5 i really hope he enjoys his British Final debut and gets in the mix young Bailey who have time for you had to feel for him.
-
It just shows you how hard the championship is and now the two leagues are closer together than they have ever been.
-
A frustrating night really, riders tried really hard to race but there seemed nothing in that surface no drive at all.BWD in one race rode his b... off tried everything to pass but there was no grip at all.Saying that the track looked quite smooth, Kings Lynn did a great job and if Holder can raise his game look a dangerous team.Swindon there has to be changes and it wont be easy to be able to improve the team that much. Was talking to a mate last night and we were saying what if Belle Vue rested Jack Smith and brought in Tungate on a low average they would then be very formidable.
-
Bellego i can remember him having a reasonable year at Sheffied and people were commenting then how good he could be.Last year he had a good year so it is not that much of a surprise but he has looked mighty quick but most of us agree he has overachieved so far this year.
-
A really nice morning here, hopefully the weather will hold up we had alot of rain yesterday where i am about 3 miles from the track.Kings Lynn could be very dangerous tonight, Huckenbeck for me is the key along with the talented Lambert.Lambert has not always gone great at the Abbey so he needs to be on it and Batchelor who knows what version turns up tonight i think a Budgies win by about 8.

Autrey Could He Have Been World Champion In 1979.?
Sidney the robin replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Years Gone By
Autrey certainly had his best year BL wise in 79 and apart from say four riders was miles ahead of the rest .Also Autrey before he came over in 73 he had quite a good record on some of the big tracks where's some Americans had not so i would have to disagree that he was only good on the narrower tracks. -
It is a shame speedi that people bother you that much!!!! you dont need to block anybody just dont read there posts end of.

Orion is one of the people on here that i actually have no idea what he likes or dislikes. He generally wants confrontation and is never positive on any issue a crying shame really.
