  1. Think you need to remember it's not just British riders doubling up To get progression riders need to commit to a higher level to make room in the league below for the next crop to move up. The way things are there is too big a gap in ability between NL and PL but virtually nothing between PL and EL. Protecting PL No.7s heat 4 ride, but moving them to the main body when average allows is as much a backward step as letting EDRs go into the main body without having first changed the heat format, to at least allow them to achieve a true average, not one gained by only riding against fellow reserves and second strings. That said, I believe that the EDR system has helped riders develop, unfortunately it hasn't evolved to let more in year on year.
  2. Has he been asked? Can they afford him? Does it fit with his grasstrack/longtrack commitments?
  3. Didn't notice Josh riding particularly wide after that though, each time he tried a pass it was always up the inside. Guys like Josh and Ben can ride this sort of track as they ride full gas all the time and can power through the deep stuff, probably why Josh couldn't make a pass when on the slick inside.
  4. Even if there are other teams with a Brit good enough to move up, would you really want them to if it was your team, after all it's actually handicapping the team as he will no longer get his 'easy' rides and is restricted to 4/5 rides. Going to make the trip down for this one as it should be a decent match.
  5. My apologies, for the assumption of you're team choice. Makes no odds who's at reserve for panthers then if Perry was able to up his starting average by that amount.
  6. Sorry, as well as being tied to their first two rides in the meeting, I was under the impression that they were similar to the edrs and were tied to the no.7 race jacket for the season. So what position in the team is your original 3 pointer riding at?? Think there's something fishy going on here!
  7. Notice you've got Holub listed at 7, how is he eligible to ride national league?
  8. Perhaps if your on such good terms with Stewart you should put it to him about listening to his own riders, perhaps then they may start listening to him. How long before another rider loses confidence because of his team management style, not a fan of Barker, but you could clearly see how much he enjoyed today now the pressure is off him, don't believe for a second he was on different equipment today to that he's used previously. Time will tell its own story on that one. Just hope history does not repeat itself too often. Regarding the track, heard a training day scheduled for saturday was cancelled, obviously in order to prepare a heavy track for today, as there is no way inexperienced riders would have coped with it, the juniors there today after the match were stopping after 2-3 laps.
  9. Why would you start a thread without having all the facts to hand? Oh sorry just noticed how one sided this post was, no mention of Glasgow being without Worral if Cook was riding for Belle Vue, but irrelevant really as it doesn't apply anyway. The eight day rule on guests was swept under the carpet a few seasons ago, or gets overlooked when needs suit. Sorry, please excuse my ignorance here, can someone explain this reserve pairing, isn't one supposed to be a three pointer? Think Lambert is well beyond that level.
  10. Bit of over confidence there guys, still, really shouldn't underestimate anyone, managed the win anyway, probably made for a better match with the tighter scoreline.
  11. Seems to also prove Glasgows third heat leader is really Ritchie Worral, even if as some say barker has upped his average
  12. BUT we could have barker at reserve by then and IF he was on form and IF he got a seven ride maximum, BUT the rest of the team were crap that night then MAYBE we could still win or MAYBE we'd get beat. What exactly is the point of this speculation? Glasgow got a point, Newcastle missed out on a point that's just the way it goes, it's just your luck:-IFS BUTS and MAYBES.
  13. The problem is getting to the play offs, Barkers lack of points is imo putting too much pressure on Luna and Garcia, and I think it's showing with Luna. This situation needs properly handled, if machinery is the problem, I'm sure this could be remedied by the promotion providing him with the right equipment for the job. If it continues, he's probably going to get more injuries trying to score points on substandard equipment. If the problem is not psychological, then it could be soon, as we all know this is a confidence sport and riders must have faith in their equipment, in order to have confidence to "race" not just ride the bike Not everyone is the same, some can handle pressure better than others, hope the promotion have learnt this and treat him the correct way.
  14. Should consider himself lucky he's not FrenchWould rather see a return of Andre Compton, know he's more likely to actually achieve his average away from home, and could probably match barkers scoring at Ashfield.
  15. Not really surprised, these are business men running this not a charity, definitely no sentiment in business you know, haven't you noticed every penny is required, one of the Facenas at the front gate today where the 50/50 tickets were being sold, telling people the draw was for £500, and yet when it came to drawing it, it was announced as £420. Maybe they gave Jim the other £80.
  16. Can only see a home win in this one, possibly by a slightly higher amount than at Glasgow. Think much will depend on Newcastle's guests and which Kus and Barker turn up
  17. Can see the reasoning behind it being so that the supporters see the best available riders and don't feel they're only getting to see a three man race.Seems a pity that such a good afternoons racing is being left to one side due to a rule which may be to the benefit of every team in the league if they require to use the facility, please don't have a short memory
  18. Really???? Says who? Fancy a wager? This is more likely Sarj should have been no where near a rider of Barkers reputed quality.
  19. Aye right. Absolutely correct, high time riders made a commitment to one team and stuck to it, you will never get a natural progression if riders don't fully commit to stepping up. Let's face it Cookie:- keeping his options open as he would have slammed the pl door firmly shut had he not ridden in it this year, Davey Watt, average lowering to open a door to double down?? I know, in relative terms these guys have short careers but is all this doubling, doing the sport in general any good, naturally if teams are given the choice they will pick the best available, even if not permanent/full time. The elite league have stuffed up as well, they should have reverted to the old heat formula, before letting edr's have real averages, who thought this through????
  20. Wish I had your faith, need him to hit the highs away from home sooner rather than later, need a few away wins at places other teams will find difficult, not the places everyone in the top half of the league win at.
  21. If Palovaara has got his gating gloves with him, you might not miss Worral too badly, he's got a decent record round the dale too.(Theo needs to remember to bring his gating gloves too).
  22. Hope the real Tigers of Glasgow show up tonight and put on a good show, looks a petty tough match for them though, have a feeling words will have been said after last nights performance, let's see how they respond?
  23. Yes he has, could come in in place of Jye at any time and move Clegg to main body of team Take it you mean his passport
