  1. Robert is a credit to sport and at this time GB'S BEST RIDER. He expressed rightly his views on track and referee decisions Tuesday which were poor to say the least.
  2. Very poor refereeing as others have said. Track also poor . Sheffield right to be aggrieved. Hopefully better tomorrow night.
  3. Agree he should be back in GP ASAP[.
  4. Emil surely should have been 3 times World Champion by now and is a tremendous Ambassitor for Speedway and not only brilliant rider but also one terrific human being. i remember coming back from Cardiff around 10 or so years ago and stopping off at the services on the M4 on the way back. There in restaurant on his own was Emil . i went over to speak to him ( he only spoke broken English then ) He was very friendly and down to earth guy. i asked for a selfie with him and he oblighed without hesitation. Nothing was too much trouble. You cannot but instantly like the guy. One Top Bloke. Hope he and others are back next year. Would be great to see Magic back and Duzzer here for starters.
  5. Agree with most of first post. A decent Premiership 8 + teams a must next year . Get top flight TO A 1 a priority and sport then is going back n right direction. Looks like Wolves nailed on for closure. If other two can continue and Glasgow - Poole - Oxford and Redcar ? included we have 10 teams. money a factor in this of course, can Sports Insure up the level next year one wonders. Promising news on Rye coming back to Championship next year. could Kent be brought back with effort ??
  6. Wembley would draw big crowd without doubt, lets hope it happens. Done with boring Cardiff and the rip off hotel prices which are jacked up for GP weekend !
  7. This really has been done to death now. The Steve Casey thing i have to agree with most and say it was was wrong. Surely all involved need to get together and sort this out for the good of PC's reputation and Belle Vue's and Speedway as a whole. You takes your pick who is right and wrong, maybe both are a bit of both. PC regardless is without doubt a Speedway and Belle Vue Legend, nothing will change that. Belle Vue conversely are and always have been a terrific Speedway club.
  8. 1 Sheffield 2 Ipswich 3 Belle Vue 4 Peterborough 5 Leicester 6 Kings Lynn 7 Wolverhampton
  9. This thread needs to be closed and matter now sorted out in private which would be best all round for everyone. P.C. has apologised, that surely needs to be end of it as far as social media is concerned.
  10. I can confirm that Posters for Hackney Speedway and rider shown with "TRAXCITEMENT MAKE IT A DATE FRIDAY AT 8 !! " WERE EVERYWHERE !!! Len Silver = Master Promoter - "GO HACKNEY !!" was another slogan used. The man was Hackney Speedway with a passion through and through and lived and breathed the club - He just has to be honoured for his service to Speedway. The Hackney fans loved his excuberance and showmanship and banter, worth the admission alone, with incredible racing and a race track prepared by Len unsurpassed
  11. I had pleasure of meeting Emil in the services on M4 coming back from Cardiff around 10 years ago. He stopped what he was doing and took time to speak to us and posed for pictures. He really is one top guy and would be brilliant to see him here. He surely should have won World Championship a number of times by now and a true World class rider. i live 2 hours from the Showground but would have to make the trip to see him. Hope the rumours are true. Would be amazing to see him round the showground and will dominate as did Crumpy and Sully back in the day.
  12. I think he was at Hackney too if i remember right
  13. Hi Guys, Iv'e read the book and it's an excellent read from a Speedway legend. First and most importantly of all let's not lose sight that PC has been a fantastic rider, World Champion, ambassitor for England, and for British Speedway and has helped massively in saving Belle Vue from oblivion. Converserly what Chris Morton and David Gordon did in bringing the NSS to Speedway was incredible and bottom line is they should be honoured for it. The current BV promotion have lead by example with brilliantly prepared and presented race track and The Mighty Aces are back as the were back in the day ( i first went to Hyde Road in 1970 and that speaks for itself ) Above are all known facts and few would argue with. Whether B.V. are being mean spirited here or riders are asking for unreasonable requests from them is not doing either any favours and shouldn't be debated here. The fans of Belle Vue and Speedway owe all parties above a great deal. What i and others have said earlier is they should come together and sort it out before the start of season. i am sure all Speedway fans would like to see that and to see both PC and Mort back at Belle Vue along with others who have graced club - They are it !!
  14. Bomber would have loved track . Event been in decline now for a few years from previous earlier years. Time to look at other possible major venues in UK to hold it.
  15. I am all for it . Haven't seen to many meetings there as based in the South but did see the 1985 WF there and ELRC in 1997. Racing was great. Wasn't the ELRC the last meeting staged there ? Agree track and all else needs to be absolutely right to stage a GP event . Maybe should have a crack at Olympic Stadium too in East End for a SGP.
  16. Feels like we have lost a mate. He was there on TV roaring on the Brits at every opportunity., Bomber at Cardiff i 2007 final . Woffy success in SGP , The SON last October. Just a few of them. RIP Nigel , condolences to the family. Kelvin must be in pieces.
  17. i went there once with Hackney for Halifax v Hackney in 1980. As a Hackney fan it was a brilliant night winning from i think 16 points down 38 - 39. Zenon Plech scored a paid five ride maximum for Hackney. The racing was incredible. We got there late and rushed into stadium for heat one and on back straight coming into bend 3. Kenny Carter flew into bend three and passed Finn Thompson on inside entry at high speed like he was in reverse. The place was spectacular. My stand out memory also was the very sporting Halifax fans who applauded us after meeting. i went to Bradford years later and visited stadium with rugby pitch now in place but remains of bends still in place. Went on the bends to have a look couldn't believe how bloody high the banking was ! Bradford also great, hope track comes back to sport.
  18. Sounds hopeful. Well done in all your efforts , keep it going and fingers crossed. Sure Saturday nights at Rye would be very well supported. Back in 2017 when speaking to fans there they seem to have come from far and wide and many from closed tracks. i'll be there for a start ! Really hope to see the Rocketrs back , first ever meeting as a kid. Rayleigh Weir 1969 Dingle Brown Geoffrey Maloney and so on
  19. Id definetely like a copy - Zuper Zenon - East End Legend !!
