  1. You are correct They provide a medic & track curator when they run their own training schools because they have to, i was referring to private track hire days , The club will provide them if you wish but that is at extra cost it doesn’t eat into The Bates profit from the track hire.
  2. You don’t need to have the inside info on the finances of Leicester to know they make money from Leicester. They pay a flat yearly fee for lease of the stadium for 25 years regardless if its used once or a hundred times a year. They have council permission to use the track 7 days a week for practise but not allowed to run events on weekdays until after 6pm & anytime on weekends. With the above in mind they hire the track out at No cost to the Bates no medics or track curator those cost extra so there is great profit from track hire & bear in mind this happens a minimum once a week where the track is hired. The crowds at Leicester are down there is no denying that but I would still say they are better then most tracks I have been to this year & certainly more then was at Somerset last night. The Berwick crowd was low purely because it was a late arranged Sunday match on Fathers day I know a good few that didn’t go for both reasons .
  3. What a total & utter b****it post. The scoreboard at Leicester is an old scoreboard that doesn’t even work. & if i am not mistaken there is a scoreboard at Sheffield on the back-straight ? The gantry would still be at Sheffield now but the stadium insisted it had to come down when Sheffield got extra dog meetings. So they had a choice bring it to Leicester or scrap it ? It’s post like these from uninformed people that post things to suit their agenda that drive fellow supporters & promotors away. well it appears those who would criticise if they didn't score more then 50 points & don’t attend if they lose & all round criticise the family that saved your club, talk about biting the hand that feeds you. To the Sheffield group of fans that told me last Sunday the club is better off without the Bates You may have your wish now because it looks like The Bates are going god help the next person who comes in & have to run it as a business instead of for the love of it like Marc, Damien & Paul do.
  4. Highly unlikely . The Bates family make good money from Leicester speedway through training schools, private track hire , 2 teams bringing attendance money in which are to a decent level.
  5. It depends which forecast you go with because BBC have it down & cloudy & 25% chance of rain which isn’t that high.
  6. Good performance on a poor track gate and go racing until heat 14 when both Tigers riders passed Connor Mountain. A point away from home is all we require. There was a couple & their daughter wearing red lions hat & t shirt wearing glasses on bend 4 at the back i have lost my bank card if this was you could you message me to let me know if you seen it on the floor when you left ?
  7. Gates will open at 2:30pm . £12 Adults , £10 Concessions & under 16’s free. Programme cost is £2 good quality programme similar to the Lions programmes but scaled down to 15 pages.
  8. This makes no sense at all. Belle Vue without their 2 heat leaders & the Warsaw GP on tv. They wonder why crowds dwindle in speedway. Crazy decisions like running this match where the opposition will have 2 guests. Can’t understand why Belle Vue agreed to this match in the first place. I urge the Leicester promotion to do the correct thing & rearrange this fixture when we can have 2 full teams.
  9. Got to say I thought tonights meeting was brilliant i think the light showers helped prepare a perfect consistent track for the riders to produce some good close racing. Thank you to the Eastbourne team for finally giving the Leicester public a competitive meeting to watch & but for the final 3 heats it was close.
  10. Here lays the issue. Because we have Lions & Cubs this season there is literally no spare Saturdays available. Even when there are gaps in the fixtures & neither team are riding on a Saturday there is a reason for it , usually we can’t get a full team so then you jeopardise losing the match.
  11. May aswell call it off now then. Forecasts are final.
  12. One thing that we do have that's far superior to Leicester and that's a race track! We will see far moreentertaining/competitive speedway throughout the season....and that's what I pay my money for ! At no point did i mention about the racing or quality of it . But what I will say is having been to Redcar, Leicester, Sheffield , Belle Vue & Wolves over the weekend there was just as much passing at Leicester as all the others apart from Belle Vue. Stewart has done wonders over the winter with the track & you can really race on it this season if you are brave enough to put the bike in the dirt. The Sheffield meeting was dire & it was criminal they didn’t water during the interval in 20 + degree heat.
  13. It’s a very early call off for a local derby match it could have been left until 2/3pm without any hinderance to riders or fans. All the forecasts I can see say scattered showers light/ Moderate. Basically saying the slightest chance of rain & meetings are off at Birmingham. I think this is called a tactical call off with Ryan Douglas declaring himself fit to race David Mason/ Lawrence Rogers felt Leicester would be too strong & another home loss would be disastrous for their fans. Team changes to make Birmingham more competitive coming soon watch this space.
  14. A really good meeting . Some good team riding & passing in most races. Seems Stewart has managed to get some consistency in the surface, I fear for Scunthorpe on the road they have a very long tail end. Only downside from tonight is i didn’t have the courage to ask the attractive young female Scunthorpe fan in the Grey hat on bend 1 for her number :-(
  15. Practise till the cows come home you ask any rider they will tell you that you only get your race head & fitness back when you come to the tapes with 3 other riders trying to earn some money. So that fact Josh has/hasn’t been practising & Ryan has been riding in Aus doesn’t fill me with any more optimism.
  16. Not wanting to be negative but after the positive start to team building i am now fearful for the side we are building. It is a HUGE risk signing Josh Bates after the injuries he has had. Then to sign Ryan Douglas who has always struggled at BP & not ridden for a year . Both are going need time to settle into the swing of things but in speedway you don’t get that time the club will need instant results if they are serious about challanging for silverware
  17. I think its going to be Sarjeant & Mountain. Both club assets & both on the right sort of average for the lower end of the side.
  18. I have just gone on his effective average 1/10/18. But if he isn’t doing Championship in 2019 then i would take Proctor 6.96 or Barker 7.05 again effective averages 1/10/18.
  19. I fully support the drop down to Championship. I for one really struggled to make Monday’s . I found myself attending more Coventry meetings then Lions. I am going for a team of : 1. Richie Worrall (8.00) 2. James Sarjeant (4.16) 3. Nikolaj B Jakobsen (6.58) 4. Josh Bates (6.54) 5. Nikolai Klindt (6.94) 6. Connor Mountain (3.57) 7. Jordan Jenkins (2.00) Total 37.79 Worrall - Highly impressive in British semi @ Leicester & always seems to like riding at BP Sarjeant- Did a solid enough job in 2018 before getting the chop, a club asset & on a cheap average. B Jakobsen- Sensational in 2018 when guesting for Leicester & already a fans favourite also could it be a indication that he will now live & work along aside David Howe who is based in Leicester ? Bates- Made it clear his intentions that he wants to be with Leicester in 2019 when he would surely have known they planned to drop down. Klindt- Former Lions captain & fans favourite, On a steal of an average , he made it clear he wanted to join Leicester instead of Poole in 2018 & also fairly local track for him. Mountain- Watching him for Coventry at BP his improvement was massive & by the end of the season he was scoring well in the Premiership for Leicester, also a recently signed club asset makes him a certainty for 2019. Jenkins- Someone who impressed me during 2018 when he rode for Mildenhall & also guesting at BP during Coventry meetings. Someone i expect to double down to NL again but deserves his chance in the Championship.
  20. No that is incorrect. Buster will solely run Leicester Rob Lyon is running Kings Lynn although it is still Buster's money & Stadium Buster will have nothing to do with Belle Vue he is merely trying to broker a deal on behalf of the sport as chairman with a consortium who are interested in running speedway in Belle Vue.
  21. Info i am hearing is: Buster Chapman has agreed to take the club over & is currently working with DH on a schdule for track improvments. Nothing has been announced regarding Buster's take over because he is working around the clock as BSPA chairman to ensure Belle Vue run in 2017 so has little time to be dealing with press , media & fans forum's while working with Belle Vue ,Leicester is a club ready to run with staff & track ready to race if time runs out for changes to the track Belle Vue have nothing but a track at this time. The Leicester team building has started & i am lead to believe Oliver Allen is in charge of team building & will be the new team manager. No riders will be revealed until after the Kings Lynn fans forum where Buster wants to assure Lynn fans although he now runs Leicester he is still committed to Kings Lynn & the Norfolk Arena. All of the above seems quite reasonable & just a case of sitting back , relaxing & let Buster work his magic at Leicester & hopefully Belle Vue too. As the saying goes good things come to those who wait
  22. All the best to Lakeside fans hopefully something can be organised sooner rather then later for all your fans .
  23. Can you hurry up & name your team then everyone else can sign their teams up from your left overs
  24. Looking for an honest answer here. Realistically will your new stadium be finished & open come July ? I think it is a huge gamble to give a new track am FIM event so close to building completion date. That track could have a number of issues like BV did which would be a disaster for FIM , SCB & Swindon .
