  1. Dont forget we've got to come back to you in the League too
  2. Hopefully the Scorpions will be tougher opposition than Newcastle!! Sheffield to win this meeting against us, BUT Scunny to take a championship shield point
  3. Should be a cracker of a meeting, really looking forward to it
  4. Guys - just a quick one.. Im doing a Grand National Sweepstake for our injured super skipper Stevie.. £2 a go - 40 tickets... £30 to the winner, £15 second and £10 third. All the rest of the money goes to Stevie. Pop and see me on the scaffold stand during the meeting or when im going round with young Jack (mascot) doing his collection.
  5. What, like your boys are home and away next week #Feelthesting
  6. Line ups im guessing will be like this: Scorpions - Guest or R/R, Stef, Josh, Jake, Jase, Danny boy and Gino Newcastle - Lindgren, Tero, Rose, Wethers, Robson, Wilko, Morris Scorpions should win this comfortably, although predicting big scores from Wilko and Tero
  7. Good win by the Scorpions boys, gunna miss Stevie, and I send my best wishes for a speedy recovery. Stef did well in his rides. We saw the 'Josh of old' which was really good to see, Jake got going after his first 2 rides.. Jason, full max, what more to be said.. Reserves, was really impressed, Danny, coming back from a broken back did really well and Gino did quite well considering he hasn't raced properly over here for more than 2 years
  8. Weather looks set Teams ready Lets get ready to rumbleeeee Scorpions by 10 methinks
  9. So, after the cancellation of the Edinburgh match, the Redcar Bears will be the first to come into the Scorpions den for 2018. Fingers crossed the weathers on our side, as it'll be the first team action (I believe) for both sides. For the Scorpions side, im very much looking forward to seeing our newbie Gino in action, I've read how grateful he is for the Scorpions giving him a team place and really hope he can deliver the goods for us. Im looking forward to seeing Stevie back in a Scunny jacket after 7 years too and hopefully will be the number 1 we've needed for some time. For the Bears team, im only really looking forward to seeing Jordan Stewart, who Rob did have pencelled in, until Redcar came along and snapped his signature.. Fingers crossed for a cracking meeting, the first of 2018 weather permitting
  10. Osdal boy.. I know the meeting happens on april fools day but its too early for them jokes atm
  11. With having the kids afterwards, id say it was normal double header admission (as shown on poster)
  12. Quite looking forward to this.. id guess expected line ups are Scorpions - Steve, Jake, Josh, Stefan, Jason, Gino, Danny Edinburgh - Wells, Ruml, M Riss, Andersson, E Riss, Williamson, Pickering. First prediction of the season i'll go for a Scorpions 47-43 win
  13. Personally would swap Allen and Nielsen round, but dont suppose it matters too much
  14. Many Thanks Mr Blobby and Gazc.. thread now set up, going for a Glasgow win of 15.. Good luck to Lewi Kerr
  15. Does anyone know the 2 teams riding order please? Only asking so I can set the updates up tonight rather than rushing around after work tomorrow
  16. Does anyone have any of the 2006 and 2007 Boston v Scunthorpe meetings on DVD that they'd be willing to sell or know of any companies that may have filmed the meetings. Many thanks Scunny Dan
  17. Very average team you have compared to last year... Howarth not a proper number 1 imo, bjerre heat leader at best, bates not gunna get better sticking at sheff, kurtz wont improve much, wright's past his best.. only 2 in your team thats likely to improve are shanes and smith
  18. Something tells me, we wont have to wait much longer, got a feeling something may be announced at Meet the Riders on Friday night
  19. Newcastle asset but not part of their plans for this season, hope hes a Scorpion this season
  20. Snowed off, cant expect people to travel in the weather we've had here
  21. Would really really like to see Danny Phillips, good reports coming from him from the training camp at IOW, and an ex Saint. Its awesome to see our young kids come up to become Scorpions (Ash Birks, Steve Worrall to name a couple)... I think it may be a different rider though
  22. So according to the Scunthorpe Telegraph, Rob has narrowed the choice for the No 7 down to 3 - Danny Phillips, Ryan Kinsley and David Wallinger.. Personally I'd quite like to see Phillips or Kinsley, however Star says that Wallinger is the likely candidate. I cant fault his dedication to want to ride for Scunny, but cant see him improving realistically. Kinsley rides our track rather well and think he could become a regular heat 2 winner around the EWR.
