  1. Rider of the year - Josh Auty, had the season of his life before his injuries Most impressive team - Workington Team rider of the season - Jake Allen (Scunny) One to watch - Jason Garrity Bulldog award (Best British rider) - Craig Cook Meeting of the season - Scunny vs Workington (KOC Final) or any of the 3 Scorpions v Sheffield meetings Surprise of the season - Workington Underperformers (Team) - Redcar Unluckiest rider - Lewi Kerr Newcomer of the season - Drew Kemp
  2. Come up with 2 possible teams for next season, wouldn't mind either Team 1 Auty (8.36) Josh Pickering (6.11) Steve Worrall (8.17) Jake Allen (7.37) Tero Aarnio (6.83) Connor Mountain (3.62) Anders Rowe (2.00) Total Averages 42.46 Team 2 Auty (8.36) Allen (7.37) Ryan Douglas (5.2) Steve Worrall (8.17) Nico Covatti (6.56) Nathan Greaves (4.09) Anders Rowe (2.00) Total Averages 41.75
  3. Defo wasn't meant to be for the Scorpions, didn't think 18 was enough but defo didn't expect to be demolished like we was. Congrats to the Comets, I personally hope you do the treble
  4. There was defo more than 500 there, wont be too far off 700 for sure
  5. Good luck tomorro Scunny lads, really cant see 18 points being enough, as worky are bloody epic round their own track.. go prove me wrong lads and bring the trophy home
  6. Well, what more can be said.. A fantastic meeting, a real shame it wasn't on BT Sport, but Tapes up videos was there filming it, a must have DVD for any speedway fan, that really was out the top drawer, along with the biggest crowd for speedway at the EWR for some time. Fair play to both sets of riders who put on a show, Scunny didn't have it as easy as we'd have liked although built up a handy lead, I think 20 points and the cup would have been Scunnys, 18 im not so sure. Its still all to race for on Thursday, good luck Scorpions
  7. Josh Auty 8.36 Dimitri Berge 5.03 Jake Allen 7.37 Todd Kurtz 5.91 Steve Worrall 8.17 Connor Mountain 3.57 Anders Rowe 2.00 TOT 40.41
  8. Personally I'd say Tero is the best choice of guest. He's been a superstar round the EWR this season and is a former Comet, so has to be booked for both legs, please Rob
  9. Advantage Scunny.. top team performance from the lads... Jake was awesome and fully deserved his paid max... 15 heats still left to go, but I quite fancy the Scorpions chances... theres a new fire in the bellys of the Scorpions and the Comets (hopefully) will find that out in the final
  10. The past 2 heat 15's at Scunny Heat15 Scunthorpe v Somerset (PL Playoff Final 2012) Josh Auty and Nick Morris v Jesper B Monberg and Richard Hall... Great team riding by Morris and Auty to give the Scorpions the league title with Hall on their tails for all 4 laps
  11. https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/other-sport/kyle-howarth-ready-scunthorpe-scorpions-2050997 Looks like Kyle Howarth could be at No.1 for Scunny if Josh isn't fit enough to ride
  12. Run down on this years team.. Steve Worrall - was brought in as a out-and-out number 1, got injured in the first meeting of the season.. Can see Stevie back next season with a point to prove. Stefan Nielsen - at the start of the season, by far our most consistant rider, good for 12 points a meeting then crashed in a premiership meeting, which unfortunatley cost us our season. Jason Garrity - the thrill merchant but injury prone... top lad, would like to see him back Jake Allen - my rider of the season, great lad, great rider especially around the ewr! Defo one to keep for 2019 Josh Auty - pretty much nailed on for 2019, is he really going anywhere else? Had by far his best season this year Gino Manzares - started the season by doing his job, but then had his confidence blowing crash in the SON, which ultimatley made him the rider that he is now, I cant see him back at the EWR next season Danny Phillips - can''t see young Danny been back next season.. Started of by doing his job, getting the odd 3rd here-and-there, but with all the injuries the pressure mounted on the lad and had gone backwards, shame as I really like the lad and consider him a mate.. Realistically can see the 3 J's and Steve back at the Scorpions, wouldn't mind seeing Stef back if we can get him back to how he was at the start of the season... Can almost see 2 changes in the reserve berth, would like to see Ryan Douglas back if his average would fit and a rider like Jordan Jenkins (although doesn't want to commit to a full season of Championship racing with his exams in April/May, maybe a mid season replacement?) or maybe even bring Josh Bailey back?
  13. Should be a relatively easy win for the comets, really really hope Im wrong
  14. And very happy to he helping such a great club
  15. Was just thinking the same myself montie, (i appreciate ive only done 1 stox this season) but comparing the speedway crowds to stox speedway have had double the crowd stox had last night
  16. For us at Scunny, cant really say we have too many highs, making the semis of the Championship Shield and KOC... Injuries for us have cost us this season, and has been the talk in the terraces of what could have happened if they all stayed fit... For the league in general it's pleasing to see teams like Berwick and Workington in the top, teams not normally up there battling for the playoffs. Its also amazing to see some up and coming riders like Drew Kemp coming up and doing so well in the league, looking forward to seeing riders like Anders Rowe, Jordan Jenkins, Tom Brennan etc come into the league in the next few years too
  17. Yeah he is a Scunny asset, most of us would love to see him back in scunny colours
