Great win for the team last night, shame for Tom won't be a birthday he will forget in a hurry. Jake knight was my man of the night but George was also as good. Adam is a cut above everyone. Can't wait for the Kent match. Have to say if you beat the best team in the league with only 5 riders I say Kent will be worried as I would. Charlie will be back Luke is doing ok and Tom may be back so for a change we can pick the best of the 3

Wow what a load of crap then, why not fine Jolly which we must all agree on as he was the person who called the meeting off. Which they have done well done that's makes sense. Don't award any points and let the match be rerun. Mildenhall riders will earn money so will the Cradley riders so they are winners what ever the outcome of the meeting. It's not fair on teams trying to get to the playoffs for Cradley to be awarded 4 points. Jolly would have rent and paramedics to pay so his cost of a mistake and a fine greater than the £250 but the real losers are the other members of the league. Peter Morrish and CVS are all linked together and CVS is promoter of Cradley and they are awarded 4 points with a better chance of promotion to the play offs more money in the pockets of those who deserve to get there. (by winning not being gifted points) Would not happen in the Pl or El what a joke. Buster chapman is really sorting speedway out this is the biggest mistake that effects the league. Corruption, or stupidity seems to come to mind as even us supporters agree the outcome is wrong. Get to grips and rerun the meeting don't let meetings be decided round a table eating lunch.

AE=14 GH=4 JK=11 GW=7 LH=3 TB=4 RR=6 Thats just the normal programme rides not sure what its adds up too lol let me check. 49 at a push but it can be done happy with my scores just hope it comes up that way. -
Just heard that Zac is not gonig to be there but i have looked on the Sommerset speedway page and seems they dont have a meeting on the Saturday so no reason he cant be there unless he is abroad racing but again not sure if what i heard was true. Think they have got a rule out now to stop that happening as they did with Dan Bewley and Belle Vue and Edinburgh. so if he has a PL place it will always come first over NL no matter what happens unless its rained off up North

Nothing to talk about now then -
Looks like Tom could be in longer if they decide to keep in him and run him till charlie is fit, I cant wait for the Weekend really looking forward to it, Charlie collarbone looks a big mess on the ITFIRST Twitter page. Hope the weather is good for the weekend.

I agree with you hunters but i also think that on his Birthday make a story that will draw a few more people, I think Harris will not get many points so i guess Tom will not get many either so nothing lost and nothing gained but a new young local lad back on the track as it was in the late 80s with Dugard, Tagg, Norris, Swain, Pitts, Masters, Grayling, Bruton, just to name a few. I think Tom will do ok and if not then they can look and see if he is going to get an average, say he does 3 meetings and his average is way under 3 points they might think about running some more meetings. Maybe, Might, is upto the management and team. Good Luck to Tom and his future as a speedway rider.

Good to see Adam back and also Perks so game on as i think we are going to need a few points lead to take to kings lynn but who knows whats going to happen its game on
-
Good Luck to Tom i will be there with my family to wish him well and to see his first race and a hard one too. Good Luck Tom

Good meeting last night pushed all the way again but the right result. Jake knight rode his heart out so did Powell. Look forward to having Adam and perks back in the side. Not worried about the planning application as I heard that way back in 2000 so it may never happen but if it does then worry about it then. Just enjoying speedway at Eastbourne.

Not a bad meeting last night. Was pushed close by a very weak side on paper but had some fight in them, Dugard seemed less than happy to be back and looked as if he had gone backwards. Powell looked better and safer. Harris seemed to have no fire in his belly jake knight was the master again keeping it going. Georgie wood very hot and cold. Crowd seemed to be as normal for NL due to the fact bottom of the table team. Impressed with Branford and Morley but the rest of rye house need a little help.

I think the best thing is for Gary to be fit and have a bike waiting for his return, then he can start the Season off in 2017 on good equipment and fit in the side.
-
Form what i have seen this year is that all the riders are still using the neck Braces the ones from last year have been returned and are being used, but i have to say Cottham didnt have one on when he crashed but maybe that was because he hadnt ridden for a bit and didnt want to get the feeling something was different, maybe a neck brace would have saved his collerbone? As for his bike i will be interested to see the photos and see how is coming along has anyone seen an update?

From what i can see that Eastbourne is run on a very tight budget as most of the NL tracks are, they are very lucky that a company like IT First have sponsored them but also the fact that the guy from the company takes and interest in the Club and he can hold a converstaion about speedway and not just the guy who has put the money in and walked away with lots of demands. It really does get to me that people who always ask sponsors to help a little bit more then again and again, We have it at our company where we sponsor events and it really does bite at me thinking that people can come along and ask for more because they are short of money or they need some more money. Why dont they put a note collection bucket in the Entrance and only notes and your be amazed what can be done with just that little bit extra cash for a rider that needs it, the only problem how do you pick a rider that needs more help then another? Going back to the team sponsor i think he has done a great job and the fact that he has opened the eyes to the way the management are working is for the best interest for the club.

Kings Lynn in the second round of the Cup, I think but not 100% right but only league matches count on an average, guest bookings, KO Cup and Play Offs dont count also bonus points dont count on an average. So looking at it if i was the club i run Tom in the harder meetings as i think he will try harder then Harris and run him for 3 meetings Birmingham, Kent, Mildenhall, so he does not get an average, then run him on KO Cup matches and Play Offs if they reach them. But thats only my thinking. have to watch this space to find out whats going on. So he could have as many as 10 matches plus youth rounds plus any other international meeting he has lined up

Kl Young Stars -v- Cradley 07.06.16

Richard Andrews from Eastbourne is free as i dont think he can still be injured, As i just read Nick Phillips has gone to the IOW after his injury, Shelby Rutherford is not at Buxton, Spiller Boys or you have have to have a reshuffle with a few riders taken its toll and rebuild as others have done this year. Matt Sauly is free so there is a few out there. -
Good news about Nick, i think the track at Eastbourne didnt do him any favors the same as the track does to charlie powell (CP), but the way CP went in our last meeting i think he might have just cracked it, Harris needs one of those smoke bombs so that people can watch him go round as he is so far behind at the moment people will rember he is in the same race. How many meetings before ATOM BOMB TOM can have a skid in the main team, accroding to the fixture list its 3 meetings i can wait hopefully it will be another step forward for the club to have an up and coming youth rider, same as Coventry and Kings Lynn have done in the last few weeks.

Shades you make me smile, if you was to run a club and it lost money every week and you loved speedway as Bob Dugards does why would you not put your hand in your pocket and continue? oh he did. Then came a the crunch either you loose anohther 75k or you close or you get someone to run it at a lower level. so where do you start? Chance thats been taken? NL how many people do you need to make it pay and how many people will come to watch? and as there is no TV money from sky at the NL level so the change is who ever runs the project of NL has to fund it out there own pocket. Shades would you take the chance? I dont think so, but we are lucky that the 2nd and 3rd generation run Eastbourne at the moment and lets see how they do who knows it may go to PL or go to one big League as it did in the year 2000? but one thing you can count on is that there is speedway at Eastbourne again thanks to the Hard work of the team and the backroom staff that work hard to allow us to watch it.
-
i think i know 99% how its run and you know 1% of how its run, . we see what happens next year as i have sent waco a message then we see who is blowing smoke out the wrong end and i know its not me.
-
Powell is better then Smith if he stays on, Harris is better then smith if he can make a start, jack PB is better then all of them. so its going to be quite a fair meeting for both sets of reserves, I think its going to be a great match and could go either way. Perks seems to have his bike problems sorted at last so a few points from him and wood, cant really call it as Zac wont want to mix it as he wont want to get hurt as he is doing the WTC at the weekend both sides have had injury problems so lets hope its going to be a safe meeting for both teams. Real tough meeting for both sides its going to be very close.

Raiders V Eastbourne Mon 31 St May Approx 4-30 Pm
mrscambelt replied to waco's topic in National League Speedway
Shads i think you need to step back as youre rose tinted glases have a crack in them, as gas bloke said 150 supports from Eastbourne came up to support Eastbourne so take that away from the 600 people in the stand then you only have 450 people for the redcar match which is not a great crowd for a PL match. thats the facts of it not enought bums on seats -
The problem is that the riders in the Nl are not good enough to ride the track when its as you say bald? a slick track is a track that has no dirt on it, the blue or black "BLUE GROVE" which appears at Rye hourse and Mildenhall is due to the rubber off the rear tyres scrubbing off the tyre and being placed on the track this makes it harder to turn because rubber on rubber gives you more grip and the riders go straight ahead then onto the dirt thats on the outside and then turn the bike around and crash. Then you have somone water the blue groove means the water sits on the rubber a bit like a wet pair of trainers on a tiled floor. This then makes it harder for the NL riders. So as i said give the NL riders the better track to start off with, then the track wont be wrecked as much by the 15 heats by the NL riders would be the same as the doing 6-8 heats on the PL team. Then let the the PL team with the better riders race the track.
-
But if you was sensible about it look at it this way. Run the NL meeting first as the track would not have got pulled to bits by the NL riders as much. Then the Recar team would have more time to get to Rye House and people could do what they needed to do and run the meeting later for the PL, run the NL meeting at 2pm and the second meeting at 7pm under lights as i am sure it looks better, Grab the money from the Nl meeting as thats done and dusted then empty the staduim for the PL match and the local people would still come for the night meeting when the track would have been much better. Branford would have some more confidence for the PL match with Morley ready to hit Recar or any other team if needed, sometimes you have to look at it another way to make it work. This is my opinion its not misguided because its all fact and it can work just depends if people are willing to make it change. Open the eyes of the ones that cant see the full distance. Speedway needs to drag in as many people as it can. something needs to change before it all goes wrong. Just another way of looking at it. The other way about it as well that Rye house would have lost the first meeting but would have won the PL meeting and everyone at the end of the night would be talking about winning and not how bad the team was. Always plan to finish on a High, and i think i know that of Eastbourne dont finish on a high they make sure that something special always happens so you talk about the postive not the negative, Eastbournes only agenda is to keep speedway alive.
