My Top 20 Riders On Current Form
Barrow Boy 2 replied to Barrow Boy 2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
My top 20 riders on current form are now as follows:- 01 (01) Freddie Lindgren-Wolves-1111 02 (03) Jason Doyle-Swindon-1110 03 (14) Jacob Thorsell-Wolves-1010 04 (08) Kenneth Bjerre-Belle Vue-1000 05 (05) Craig Cook-Belle Vue-990 06 (04) Nick Morris-Swindon-985 07 (07) Brady Kurtz-Poole- 984 08 (12) Chris Harris-Rye House-970 09 (---) Rory Schlein-Wolves-962 10 (02) Troy Batchelor-King's Lynn-937 11 (11) Hans Andersen-Poole-933 12 (06) Kim Nilsson-Leicester-930 13 (17) Josh Grajczonek-Somerset-925 14 (15) Robert Lambert-King's Lynn-920 15 (20) Sam Masters-Wolves-900 16 (16) Steve Worrall-Belle Vue-877 17 (09) Patrick Hougaard-Somerset-870 18 (13) Kyle Howarth-Wolves-820 19 (10) David Bellago-Swindon-810 20 (---) Chris Holder-King's Lynn-800 -
So much for Mr Lynch's pre season comments that we will just try and win all our home matches and just simply enjoy riding away. Wth this team of 6 BCL riders and only one BPL standard rider many more home defeats can only be expected. If crowd levels are to be maintained then something has to be done sooner rather than later. I see that starting the races are still proving a problem for the starting marshalls who I appreciate seem to be trying to line them up in accordance with the regulations by inviting then in in grid order. This however does not seem to be working does it.
-
Are we likely to have a full team for this one?
-
Do you mean 2 riders who started their careers in the BNL but not necessarily still there?
-
Don't all BPL teams have to have one British BNL rider at reserve?
-
A referee who is a very good friend of mine once told me that if he saw a rider move before he had completely pressed the starting button he would bring it back if said rider seemed to have gained an unfair advantage. So if no prior movement was detected and a rider guessed correctly he would not bring it back. How many times has a speedway commentator called it unsatisfactory because a rider anticipated. So what if he did. If he did not move before the referee hit the start button he should be allowed to continue.

I just think that he can't ride Leicester. Can't recall him doing any good in the past and when I heard that he had signed I said to anyone who was interested that he would struggle to be the heat leader required. When he signed he said he was delighted to become a Lion and he looked forward to having a good season. Practicing on the track is all well and good but having 3 other riders all seeking the best lines is not the same a flying around on your own.

Leicester V Wolves 15th May
Barrow Boy 2 replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
When I saw some of the predictions I had to smile. One of my fellow supporters asked me at the stadium if I thought Leicester would get 30 points. I replied yes but they wouldn't get 40. Totally predictable was this result for me. -
In last night's match against Wolves there were 11 riders out of the 14 who also ride in the lower leagues. I agree something needs doing to this rule. Perhaps a 2 D/U rider per team rule should be introduced. I would also like to see a rule which prevents certain international class World Cup Stars and Grand Prix Qualifiers from riding in the Championship.

Bees?

Peterborough Panthers 2017
Barrow Boy 2 replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The worrying thing is that Peterborough are only averaging 40.80 per meeting which is the 3rd lowest in the league with only Scunthorpe And Berwick being lower. The top team is Sheffield on 46.67 and the team in one place above Peterborough in 7th place is doing a clear 3 points per meeting better. -
I was given every assurance that what I said was factual by a well respected member of the new promotions team. If it is not true then so be it.

Now on Lions website Wolves are now coming on Monday next.
-
Yes but they were allowed facilities to cover them. Leicester will not be able to cover 2 missing heat leaders.

This season Leicester were all set to ride their home matches on Fridays and signed riders whose other commitments did not clash but along comes Mick Horton who convinces the powers that be that Coventry do intend to operate and insisted on keeping Fridays for himself. Lo and behold Leicester had to scrap all their plans and revert to Saturdays again. If they had been allowed to operate as intended then a better and more reliable team would have been formed. However the fixtures were duly drawn up with Leicester riding on Saturdays. This is why the BSPA should be asked for some help. It would help however if Leicester would consider changing their race night now that Coventry are not involved. Normal matches 50/50 prize money is usually in the region of £300.00. This time however it was £185.00 which is a fair reflection on the attendance i.e. around 62% of whatever the normal attendances are.
-
Leicester must now try to rearrange this fixture or seek to obtain some sort of special arrangement with the BSPA. It is not fair to expect many to attend such a farcial match. Don't clubs still get fined for fielding understrength teams now?
-
Weren't we promised a new more accurate set of averages from May 1st?
-
I think what might have upset some of the fans was because when interviewed he said that he would much rather be at the wedding.
-
Where's the confirmed Jan Graversen then?
-
The Lions' website has just announced that Cradley will be led by Ayres & Perry and that Graversen is riding for Leicester. We all knew this but what about the rest?
-
Any thoughts on the possible line ups for Saturday's Ivor Brown Trophy match?

But Leicester are not in the BCL
-
I have checked both BPL & BCL team declarations on the BSPAs web site and cannot see where Steve Boxall is listed Also on the BNL page the explanation of NEG states such riders are not eligible as a BNL guest which is understandable but where does it say they cannot ride in either of the 2 higher leagues? Confused BB
