  1. That's not really fair. New fans should be encouraged. The sport is in dire need of thousands, ok then hundreds, of folk attending. The current crop are all too rapidly errrrr dying out.
  2. Yep easy enough to understand. So come and join the very exciting sport and as Steve says "ignore all the faff".........sadly though I don't think newbies join this forum.
  3. So Mr. New Speedway Fan......hope you had a good Christmas. I bet you are very keen to see your first speedway action. It's late February, as you know, and the wheels will be spinning very soon...wow bet the excitement is difficult to control. So what's in store for you?...Well the top Division (Premiership) is still, as you were informed months ago, based on 5 teams - yes just 5 with lots of talk about Northampton making it up to a mind blowing six participants, but that could be a load of cobblers. But if true 6 teams in one league must have you aching to see your first speedway. If you want more variety of teams the Championship can offer you the choice of a massive 9 teams - be warned though a few riders will be competing in both divisions it's a speedway thing. No other sport offers such double dealings. Anyway before the season starts teams will be sorting out how they can be made up via the well loved 'averages' system. If you are keen enough to read this forum you will seen very many budding Einstiens or Newtons doing the maths to aid their team make ups. Hope you understand this ' averages' stuff it's supposed to stop any one team dominating the season. No sorry I can't explain much more on that issue. So anyway roll on to tapes up my friend, bet your even more excited after reading this. Choose which team is local enough to support and get your £25 ready....oh and bring a friend. Happy Speedway.
  4. So how have they survived ?. Even getting back into 'Superleague' ?....It must make the Halifax Panthers and Featherstone Rovers fans livid. But maybe Halifax can revive speedway to counteract the loss of their RL club?.
  5. When you see stocks at Odsal on youtube there doesn't seem anything like 10k watching Neil.
  6. Although the toilets can be difficult to exit from 😆
  7. White City took Oxford Rebels licence in season 1976 - and most of Oxfords team.
  8. I think carp must be an error? Not too sure re faces ?
  9. Don't think either of them are now available.
  10. Hopefully a 'best pairs' meeting can be arranged.
  11. Think that's a massive off relevance post mate.....oh and they've won a darned sight more than 5 games for sure.?????
  12. Joined Comets from Sheffield second team (Sheffield Cubs) in 1970 - fans at Workington loved him.
  13. I remember same happening two years ago...we waited and waited, then got Vissing - who eventually went missing.
  14. Oh dear so sad to read this. Bob was my first ever speedway hero when as a Comet in 1970 he used to thrill the large Derwent Park crowds with his overtaking skill. RIP Bob forever remembered.
  15. Yeah Jim Bowen came. Ian was a proper speedway promoter. Unlike too many around the sport nowadays.
  16. And Ken Dodd visited Worky too...............did he?..........no......Doddy !🤣
