True. But start of season averages are previous seasons October averages. Unless they are assessed, or you are a brit with a % reduction. As for it being a weaker product I'm not so sure it is that much weaker. Lower points limit yes, but 2.00 minimum assessed instead of 3.00 means that most teams built to a near 41.00 limit. Ipswich & us built to a near 42.00 if the minimum assessed was still 3.00. The premiership is weaker I agree, but several championship heat leaders are also premiership heat leaders. It is worth noting that Danny is one of the most improved 2.00 men this year before his injury. only Redcar's Ellis Perks is higher yet people were suggesting he should be replaced.

A good shout for the pairs now. Especially since Robert is available. Excellent chance of the fours. I still think we have a half decent chance in the KO Cup over two legs. As for the league, well I'm not really sure I want to win that. A promotion relegation playoff with (for example) Rye House or Somerset who have by the end of the season decided the premiership is not for them and want to drop back down to the championship. Remember promotion and relegation is COMPULSORY this year. So you could have two teams trying there best NOT to win over two legs. And if we do win promotion it'll be bye bye Newcastle speedway..

????? Start of season 2015 :- 7.12; 2016:- 7.05; 2017:- 7.69; current :- 8.00. Quite a reduction NOT for some one who peaked a long time ago. His average has never been higher to my knowledge. Maybe he isn't improving as quick as Lewis is at the moment, but I think you'll find Lewis's improvement will slow down when it get's to 8 ish (as they all do). Tom Owen once said of a young Nigel Crabtree "He won't be an overnight sensation, he'll improve a little bit each year, but once he gets there he'll be there for quite a while". How right he was.

Sort of. Not for Steve or Robert as they've only had three away meetings (or Ben). New averages for the others effective from next weekend. Not sure if it's Sunday or Monday. Make no difference tho. The other three have all increased there averages so we are now nearer 41.00, and after Scunthorpe away it'll be even higher, the only change (possibly) being Steve switching places with Robert.

You want to replace the busy Robert Lambert ( who has no fixture clashes with kings lynn) with the even busier Brady Kurtz (who will no doubt have fixture clashes with Poole and Poland. Nice one. Unfortunately if they are on German licenses they will probably come in on a 4.00 and/or ride in the National League to come in on a 2.0 (which Robert did for KL National League team.) Even tho he was riding in Germany he was living in England. I get the impression these guys live in Germany. There's a difference.

Do you seriously want to bring Liam Carr in on a 3.00 when his actual average is 1.8?? true he was in the main body of the team but he was still getting beat by other team reserves, including our Danny before he got injured. You would certainly have to seriously weaken the top 5 to accommodate him and weaken the team overall. It's pointless replacing someone scoring 9 or 10 with a stronger reserve and a weak second string (Lewis would have to move up into 3rd heatleader role) and a stronger reserve if they only score 7 or 8 between them. Which is what would happen most of the time.

Sorry. Poor memory regarding names on my part. But same principle.

Yes i agree he's not dedicated. That's why he's flying back on Sunday (when he doesn't have to) to ride unlike Jack Holder who isn't (for Peterborough). Granted Holder is in Italy not Sweden but it's the same track that Robert rode at in last year's U21's and he got back comfortably for the match against Plymouth unlike Bradley Wilson-Dean (for Plymouth) who chose to ride in Poland. That's why they had to use Connor Coles at No.1. Riders in FIM meetings are allowed to miss any domestic meeting the next day if they wish. Robert has NEVER, to my knowledge, taken that option since he signed for Newcastle. As an aside I don't think there are any fixture clashes with Kings Lynn.

Belle Vue V Swindon Friday 19th May
leander replied to STEPHEN 333's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
See #19. he was NOT a Belle Vue asset when he signed for Newcastle. he was a BSPA asset as Morton & Co.'s license was anulled. IF Belle Vue have reaquired the assets from BSPA then Regulations clearly state "Further transfers will NOT have any effect on rider priority". He should be at Newcastle. It is Vatcher's decision a SCB manager to say he will ride at Belle Vue. Not the BSPA. He didn't even have the courtesy to tell the Newcastle promotion. -
Edinburgh V Newcastle Ch 19/5/17 @ 7.30 Pm
leander replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
6.4 If a Promotion ceases to operate, and/or the SCB order an Annulment, riders on that Promotion's Retained List shall revert to the BSPA and transfers take place as per Art 6.2.2. Chris Morton & co.'s license was annulled therefore rider assets reverted to the BSPA. Steve Worrall was a BSPA assett when signed by Newcastle 16. FIXTURES, MATCH AVERAGES and GENERAL RULES The authority of the SCB and BSPA extends over all Meetings listed on the Official BSPA produced and maintained Fixture List. Changes, including Fixture re-stagings must be approved by the BSPA and no Meeting may be staged unless on the Fixture List. 16.1 Fixtures shall take priority as follows: FIM SGP, SWC, SGP Qualifying Meetings, FIM U21 World Speedway Championship Meetings, FIM Europe U21 Championship, British Championships (Senior, Junior), BSPA Shared and Fee Events, Official Competitions: 1. SGB Premiership; 2. SGB Championship; 3. National Development League. NB. Non-Official Competitions have no priority over any of the above. A Rider must be released to take part in a higher priority Meeting, unless he is “Doubling Up”, in which case the priority for a clash of Official Meetings is as follows: - a) The Original Fixture if there is a clash with a re-arranged Fixture 1 st priority to the owner of the rider c) 2 nd priority to the previous season club d) 3 rd priority to the league in which the owner club is a member. 16.1.2 A Transfer during the Season does not change this priority. "a" doesn't apply. "b" doesn't apply as he was owned by the BSPA NOT Belle Vue "c" does. he rode for Newcastle last year. Granted he also rode for Belle Vue but NOT the current Belle Vue Promotion Company. If Belle Vue re aquired the former assets from BSPA then 16.1.2 applies. For this season he is classed as a BSPA asset. Therefore the rules state he should be at Edinburgh, not what Dictator Vatcher says. -
Belle Vue V Swindon Friday 19th May
leander replied to STEPHEN 333's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He was a Belle Vue asset last season but when last year's promotion had their license annulled then ALL Belle Vue rider Assets transfer to the BSPA according to the regulations. Therefore when he signed for Newcastle he was a BSPA asset, NOT a Belle Vue asset. I don't know whether your current promotion have aquired the Belle Vue assets back or not, but even if they have the regulations state subsequent transfers within the current season period have no bearing on priority. The criteria for priority states that owning promotion come 1st (in this case BSPA) so that doesn't count, Last year's team/ promotion 2nd. He rode for Newcastle last year, and, yes while he did ride for Belle Vue, it was not with the current promotion company. Therefore Newcastle get priority this season. Rider assets are owned by "promoting company's". A few year's ago the Sheffield promotion bought a whole load of rider assets from the BSPA following the folding of a club ( I can't for the life of me remember who it was), but they consequently had a huge asset base as a result. Most of them have probably retired now tho. -
Can we? I thought if you had two riders on same average you had to nominate order until greensheets dictate otherwise. You can use a suitable (averagewise) championship guest for a number 6 but only a NL guest for a no.7, unless that's changed from last year. Your no. 7 has to be lowest average rider as Heat 4 is still a protected race for your no 7.
-
Yes Danny will be a 2.00 as he won't have ridden enough matches for it to change (currently 3.50 believe it or not). Danny is listed as our no. 7 so it's unattached National league riders who come in on a 2.00. You'd be surprised how few they are. A lot of national league riders with championship level experience don't qualify. It's not going to be much different after the greensheet averages kick in. I would suspect all our top 5 averages will increase so putting us over the limit. Might as well trial 1 or 2 with guest bookings to see how they perform before making a hurried change. The only other option is to perform major surgery on the top 5. The irritating thing is Liam Carr's actual average is 1.8ish whereas because he has previously had a championship average over 3. his greensheet average is 3.00. I reckon he would have been the best option available if we could have got him on a 2. Even though he's had a poor season so far.

At 1st glance yes. But since they were at Redcar on thursday they were at home on the Saturday ( their reserve day). I assume they didn't want to go a week without a home fixture and/or have two fixtures at home in one week.

Glasgow V Newcastle Championship 8th April 2017
leander replied to dantodan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
SCB Regs for 2017 state: 16.1 A Rider must be released to take part in a higher priority Meeting, unless he is “Doubling Up”, in which case the priority for a clash of Official Meetings is as follows: - a) The Original Fixture if there is a clash with a re-arranged Fixture 1st priority to the owner of the rider c) 2nd priority to the previous season club d) 3rd priority to the league in which the owner club is a member. 16.1.2 A Transfer during the Season does not change this priority. Since last year's Belle Vue promotion were effectively stripped of their Licence then SCB Reg:- 6.4 If a Promotion ceases to operate, and/or the SCB order an Annulment, riders on that Promotion's Retained List shall revert to the BSPA and transfers take place as per Art 6.2.2. Therefore Belle Vue's rider assets transferred into BSPA membership. So when Newcastle signed Steve Worrall for 2017 he did not belong to Belle Vue he belonged to BSPA. Hence a and b do not apply. I don't know if Belle Vue have re-aquired the assets back from BSPA or not but even if they had it is a transfer to the NEW promotion and 16.1.2 applies. Therefore Newcastle get priority in 2017 as c) he rode for Newcastle last year NOT the CURRENT Belle Vue promotion. -

Only going by what he told me when he signed for Newcastle last year. He said he was glad Glasgow didn't recall him back. They could only take preference over Newcastle last year if he was their asset, as he finished the 2015 season with Newcastle -

Glasgow V Newcastle Championship 8th April 2017
leander replied to dantodan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
True (sort of). With Belle Vue in limbo this winter their assets switched to the BSPA. When Steve signed for Newcastle this year Steve didn't officially belong to Belle Vue ( I assume the same applies to Worky with Craig Cook). Therefore Newcastle have PRIORITY this season with any fixture clashes. I think that must be the reason, anyway Newcastle come first unless we have to rearrange any fixture which clashes with a Belle Vue date already in the calendar. -
I suspect most damage was done with the rain during the week. They apparently spent Saturday morning pumping water off the track. Whilst it was dry and sunny for the afternoon a rugby match meant' that they were unable to do any more work on the track until after 17:00, which is when the rain started again. And it was heavy rain for at least 45 minutes. It stopped just a I was leaving at 17:55. If they'd had a decent week then maybe they could have done something with it. but on an already soft track they was no chance. Bend 1 was apparently underwater again.

I'll be surprised if he is (and disappointed). his British official fixtures take precedence over his polish commitments. Despite this being "only" a challenge match, the polish fixtures are only challenge matches as well so they don't have official precedence either. If it were a polish league fixture then that would have been different.

Never subscribed to BT and never will. had enough problems with there phone service. An overpriced minority sports channel in my opinion. Bad move by BSPA if they had a choice. so much for trying to attract new people to the sport. I can't see BT's viewing figures matching those for sky.
