Very poor performance by Wolves. The track was awful - dry and dusty from the start with no real dirt on it - not helped by the fact that the Poole riders had been practicing on it in the afternoon. OK it was the same for both teams but the fact that Poole had had their practice and had the chance to adapt their set ups to the track played into their advantage. That being said the Wolves riders didn't seem able to work out that the elementary task for the evening was to make the gate.

Good performance from the Wolves Top 4 - not so good by the reserves - expected Clegg to push Klindt a bit more than he did. Probably the best ever performance around Monmore for Klindt. Shanes looks a great little rider - quite steady and very stylish - learnt quickly what lines to ride. Andersen guilty in Heat 15 of trying to block the Wolves riders rather than riding his own line - maybe would have done better if he had concentrated on that. Kurtz threw points away left right and centre - maybe he would be better concentrating on improving his riding than squabbling on Twitter as he has a tendency to do.
-
The three riders you are suggesting as replacements have very poor form around Monmore compared to the riders already in the squad so your suggestion that we would win the league with them in the squad is off the mark. Adam seems to have turned his back on Poland as he is riding on an ACU licence rather than a Polish one.

Especially as it is a 6pm start

BSPA site this morning saying that Masters has been signed by Edinburgh as a full asset. It does beg the question that if he was available to be signed why didn't Wolves sign him?
-
Just as long as we don't sign him if no one else comes in for him
-
Some interesting names - however neither Klindt nor Batchelor would be in my team as they don't get on well with the Monmore track.
-
I can understand the clamour to sign Klindt on his low average but as someone who has seen him struggle around Monmore off anything but the two outside gates so many time I can't say I would be overly impressed with his signing.

If Poland do insist on introducing the 2 club limit on riders who compete over there you would think any riders that do ride in Poland and want to ride here as their second team would want more meetings rather than less to make up for having to miss out on Sweden and/or Denmark. Therefore I can't see them signing if it was fortnightly speedway.

It would be about 5 years too late for both Harris and Nicholls. Admittedly both go well at Wolves - but really we need some riders who can ride away too. As you say if the EL is to be viable I can't see any team being allowed to be that strong anyway.

I hope not

Total bore of a meeting for the neutral supporter. Belle Vue were awful apart from Cook and Steve Worrall late on. Fricke's claim as a World Champion is a total joke. Interesting comments from Woffinden on Sky about the difficulties of setting up the bike. Hard to see any way back for Belle Vue from this disaster.

Lakeside Vs Belle Vue, 21/9/16...
SteveZodiac replied to Ace no.5's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Lots has been said about the Arena track but from watching on TV tonight the outside line seemed pretty deep and rough which didn't suit the home riders at all. Kennett couldn't carry out his favourite outside swoops and I lost count of the number of times Lawson lost points on the last lap. -
yes - and borne out by the results eh?

It looks like my logic was pretty well founded looking at the final standings Based on the standings they obviously changed something

And this is the Elite League Probably a good reason to give this a miss. -
Wolves have 4 home matches left and if they win all of those they will have 58 points Poole have 2 home matches left which they should win and they should win away at Leicester which would give them 56, plus away matches at Wolves and Belle Vue. Belle Vue have 5 home matches left which they should win which would give them 64 points, plus an away match at Poole. Therefore Belle Vue are still firm favourites to finish top.

Wolves V Lakeside 22.8.16 Return Of The Champ
SteveZodiac replied to stevebrum's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Was a very strange one crowd wise last night. There was quite a large queue outside when I arrived but it was quieter on the piece of terracing where I stand - maybe everyone turned up a little earlier expecting there to be a larger crowd than normal. -

Not helped by the fact that Swindon is the largest track in the EL so you are comparing one extreme to the other - although Monmore is small the racing is far far better than at The Abbey. -
King's Lynn V The Wolves 25/08/16

Wolves away form has been pretty poor of late but Woffinden's return - if he is there - should help. With Woffinden Wolves might pick up a point - without him I reckon Wolves will leave pointless.
