Wolves V Lakeside 22.8.16 Return Of The Champ
SteveZodiac replied to stevebrum's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Will he be complaining that he is tired with the extra meetings he is doing for Wolves now following the unexpected Polish Play Off Qualifications? -
He didn't manage it last time he rode for us.

How wonderful to see the rumor that we are replacing a rider who committed himself to a full season of racing in Britain with a rider who didn't want to know about Britain until it became clear his continental bookings are drying up. No doubt we will be able to build next year's team around him.

So Who Is Going To Win The El In 2016?
SteveZodiac replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Belle Vue v Poole final and that could go either way. -
Howarth was expected to be a real trump card at reserve and in truth he has been the biggest disappointment of the team as he hasn't delivered what was expected. Truth is there isn't anyone out there that is better to replace him with. Lots of mumblings on the terraces tonight that we won't win anything with these reserves but there isn't a realistic option to replace them.

Kylmakorpi looked fit enough tonight as he did on Saturday in the SEC - he just looked slow. Also he lost out in two tight situations in two of his heats and just didn't look bothered after those incidents. Freddie looked slow in his last three heats. The track looked too slick for us and Belle Vue were constantly outgating us. Two heat advantages at home just isn't good enough.

2016 Swc Semi's And Final 29/30/july 2016

Hancock getting lots of stick for his withdrawal - will be interesting to hear the official reason. Realistically USA were going to finish bottom in the Race Off anyway even with Hancock in the team so probably a good chance to give the two youngsters some experience.for the future. Wells was way out of his depth on Tuesday so little point in recalling him to deny one of the younger riders a chance. -
18th July 2016 - Wolves V Swindon

I think it will still be tight for who finishes top as I can't see us picking up any more points away from home. Our away form seems to have deserted us which will make an aggregate win in the play offs difficult. -

Vintage PK last night - does his Paid Maximum make him the oldest rider to score a maximum in the EL? -

Can't afford any slip ups at home now that our away form seems to have deserted us. We should be strong enough. -
Very entertaining meeting - some great races - shame the weather ruined the final.

Lakeside V Wolves Friday 15th July
SteveZodiac replied to tocha's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think the home meetings will see us through to the play offs but our away form may make it difficult for us to get to the final due to it being difficult for us to win an aggregate tie. After a few bad meetings the reserves came up trumps only for the top 4 to let us down. Probably one of the best meetings I've seen around Arena Essex due to the Lakeside riders making passes which seemed all too easy at times on our riders when they gated. I like Schlein but it is hard to understand why the promotion booked him as a guest when he is clearly far from fully fit. -

The Russians do look strong but the problem is their riders don't always turn up. As I understand it the Reserve has to be a rider who is in the Under 21 Championship - not sure if Lambert qualifies on those terms but if he does he is an obvoius choice from there. If he doesn't qualify I would pick him in preference to Harris who doesn't seem to get on with the Belle Vue track. -
Mads seems well past his best and has looked poor when I have seen him but still hard luck for him to lose his place. Hope Rory has an injury free run.

The form of the reserves seems to be becoming a problem - hard to see what can be done though.

This meeting revealed what many have been thinking for a while now - Wolves reserves are becoming a weak link - hard to see what can be done to pu things right though. -

The track looks to be a great shape - looks like you need a fast motor - not a lot of passing so far though. -
