Peterborough Panthers 2023
Purplepanthernotred replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The problem that you’ve got is some fans and I use the word some specifically because it’s not all before I get shouted down by anyone, are blinded by what’s going on and are happy too ‘just have a club to support’ which yes I get but there’s no realism in that, that’s like sending kids out on a pitch against United or something like that, essentially a hammering takes place and it’s not worth the money and it’s VERY difficult to get behind and take positives from. I’m glad we still have a club to support but serious questions should be asked over the point of it all when said owner knows he’s tracking a weak team to prop up the table. Just don’t understand it personally. -

Depends what Craig cook turns up on the night tho, not worth the risk atm I’m afraid, if we had a stronger consistent team then I’d get it more but at current it would be a waste of time -

Still essentially punishing one of the few that’s put in some steady performances. And too your point, Craig cook isn’t a free scoring rider, who knows what he’s capable of from one meeting too the next, don’t need another unpredictable rider in a team full of unpredictable riders -

I get that but there comes a point where you’d think why am i the only one seemingly trying, Hans is an absolute waste of time. Should have retired when we won the league. You still think Ben cook needs replacing??? Cuz I don’t -

On the subject of basso not handling the pressure…. My take on it is he was heavily relied upon last year and for what, us too finish bottom, would you seriously go out there putting it all on the line for us too and up with the wooden spoon because you are part of a p*ss poor team, because I know I wouldn’t -

100% agree!!! Can’t sit there and defend the car crash sh*te we are paying for as it’s not up too standard, my view is if you are gunna bother fielding a team, make it half decent at the very least, if not, shut it down and save the minimum effort that’s being put into it, any mentally sane person can’t defend it I’m sorry but it’s true. Be grateful oh please have a word * side note * I wouldn’t blame rob Lyon if he thought bugger this I’m off before I look like a dickhead -

Anymore than a fiver per point it’s too much money for Buster, god forbid the supporters could have a decent full side too get behind -

For the record and having spoken to MT, he’s still involved and attention has now shifted more towards getting all the new plans turned down for the showground. And in my opinion that is more important than what’s happening at the moment team wise. Buster is the one who owns Peterborough so it’s down to him to sort out the rider situation not Tomalin. He has also invested a lot of money into the team already so this attitude of busters that’s supposedly been heard as ‘we can run r/r and guests all season if needs be is ridiculous. Why should tomalin be the one that forks out more money to obtain another rider??? It’s busters job as owner -

Having listened to micks radio interview and spoken to MT the way forward is certainly to support what Mick Bratley is saying as and where we can. The development seems so disorganized and this could potentially be the only thing that plays into the panthers hand. Here’s hoping for a miracle -

Lynn have been for years. He’s now just decided that Peterborough are too do the same, be 3 times in 4 seasons, laughable -

I’ve never been a fan of Chapman but I will say in the current situation MT has a lot to answer for, all his promises are false ATM. I highly doubt we’ll get one but yeah, I think now panthers fans will live in false hope because of the crap we’ve heard from MT -

Naaaa regardless that you are biased that’s the most stupidest suggestion so far, why on earth anyone would swap a true racer for someone who blows hot and cold more than the weather when we are already struggling simply isn’t the answer. Hans and worrall were the questionable signings not Ben cook!!! -

Getting rid of Ben cook would be absolutely ridiculous, someone who I would class as a 100% trier/racer for Craig cook someone who spits his dummy out and gives up at the back is laughable -

Ben Cook will be fine when he settles, you’ve got to think that’s what, the second time he’s ridden the track?? And he kept pass with bewley in heat 11 -
Peterborough v Belle Vue 17 April
Purplepanthernotred replied to Rob B's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Seems everyone within the club is ignoring the issues yet again. This faff with the track is embarrassing… having to move the white line yet again just makes us look like a clown show. And as for the team spirit last night well, that’s the most unconvincing performance I’ve seen in years, absolutely gutless display -

Tbh in my opinion Tomalin looks a fool, spouting about what we are gunna do and making promises that he clearly hasn’t kept YET. This is the most bumpy ride of a take over if there even is gunna be one now which I doubt. Sad sad way too end -

Time too reach into the pockets and get Kenneth Bjerre back (tho I can’t see it after comments buster made several seasons ago regarding the caliber of rider Kenny is… he’s not a heat leader, comes too Peterborough with belle vue and scores a 15point max) If the management have any sense at all which seemingly they don’t, they’d pull out the stops and get a crowd pleaser back, someone like buzz or Bjerre. Instead it’ll be some rubbish like KK…. Oh he’s better suited to the showground than the AFA. It’s bullsh*t. I did a few experience days at Lynn before so I may aswell have a go. In 2 seasons we’ve become the joke of speedway. Disregard for supporters totally and it’s a joke. Expected to part with £22 a meeting plus extras when the club can’t even be arsed to publish a proper press release, and you’ll get the ‘use it or lose it’ comments, but the p*ss has truly been taken. Tomlin looks an idiot atm, something needs sorting NOW. Using the forecast for tomorrows postponement is half an excuse aswell. How on earth can you possibly go from the brilliance of 2021 to this p*ss and drivel state we are in now…. Pathetic
