  1. From the Rye web page..... Following the agreement at the Conference to maintain a starting points limit for each Premier League club of 42.5, the Silver Ski Rockets can now get down to the serious business of formulating their 2014 squad, with Silver saying, “We went into the Conference with several possible team permutations according to what might be agreed there. Now that it is over, and the league format and points limit are settled, we are hoping to have everything in place rider-wise in the near future. We are going to build a team at least one full point below the 42.5 point limit to ensure that we are non-competitive from the start of the campaign...........”
  2. In a nutshell. Crap team = No support. No support = No speedway. Boobs = Len Silver fan club
  3. Len looks at one thing only .CASH. Not spending much on decent riders.
  4. So as it seems I am not arsed about speedway anymore I thought I would make the effort and start the final RH home thread of 2013. Somerset lead by 28 points from the first leg one week ago so this I am afraid is a foregone conclusion as to where the KO Cup will end up. Len will suprise everyone by announcing a humungenous signing for 2014......................................
  5. Thought this was a Rye v Redcar thread...........Leicester.? Have I missed summat?
  6. Well, we got pumped at Zummerzet. I will still be there tho
  7. Already a thread http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=74533
  8. Thanks. Makes sense. Cant keep up with all the rules and regs...
  9. Sorry not up to speed on the rules and regs..... Why would Rye need an air fence if not going EL? is there a new rule that all tracks have to have an air fence or just personal choice...?
  10. Any insight as to why the season is being curtailed three weeks earlier than normal and no fireworks end of season extravaganza?
  11. Serious question here and only one man can really answer it.....will there be racing at Rye next year? I noticed in last nights NLRC programme that the last meeting at Rye is the KOC final on 6th October. No Ace of Herts,,,,,,? No challenges as meeting fillers? Silver Ski also seem to be mentioned a lot around Sittingbourne/Kent as well.......food for thought Edit...Mods can you move to PL section please?
  12. Didnt Briggo and Ivan Mauger ride for 'GB' ? Are you referring to the Lennox Lewis.....born in West Ham?.......I know the others particpated for England (because of SA appartheid) BUT although he boxed for Canada at least he was born in England
  13. I knew some idiot would react like this! I myself am a first aider being in the construction industry. My point is, a first aider can deal with most emergencies such as CPR. There were at least 4 First Aiders at the track on Saturday. However if the member of the general public had spinal injuries or a broken leg then that is different - a First Aider could determine this in a matter of seconds and then call for the paramedic or better still an ambulance? Also a paramedic can administer drugs and is an occupation like a nurse whereas a First Aider is not. When you want me to save your life when you collapse I will phone for a paramedic..OK D1ck
  14. Thought the track staff looked thin on the ground although I havent been since May. I saw the regular start marshall Terry in the car park as we entered, any reasoning as to why he wasnt working? Also on the subject of first aiders...On Saturday racing was suspended due to an 'incident' in the crowd and they called for the paramedic. BUT not only did the paramedic leave the track to attend so did ALL the first aiders one of which looked like he was carrying a CPR kit!. Why does the paramedic have to attend to crowd incidents? thats why you have first aiders employed surely? If the incident IS more than a first response incident then call the ambulance like anywhere else - the paramedic could deal with it if beyond the skills of the first aider until the ambulance arrives?
  15. Enjoyed the meeting but the set-up at Rye is still a shambles. What was with the ONLY paramedic at the track helping set the start gate FFS!
  16. Difficult decision this one.....Strictly Come Dancing starts at 6.50 Saturday night...
  17. Parking right outside the stadium but advise getting there early. There are housing estates with parking on streets local too.
  18. Yesterday would have been only my second visit this year. With a bit of luck and no rain I should get to this one
  19. Wont happen. Mear has burnt his bridges by falling out with the big 'cheese'
  20. quoted from ryehouse.com: (after BH Monday injuries) So all that lot leaves Uncle Len and John thumbing through the averages to try to line up a couple of replacements. This weekend Little Ben will get his chance and good luck to the lad who like many young riders is maturing at a pace and this might just be his moment. Strangely despite the mayhem there were positives to come out of Monday. The Admiral looked like he'd just rewound to the end of 2011, Which translates to: Ben Morley will be Simon Lamberts replacment until he recovers from his broken ankle. WTF...'The Admiral'............LMAO who thinks of these stupid nicknames....? Win for Somerset and frozen nads for all the spectators.
