  1. Would be interesting to know who puts these teams together? Plain to see batchelor ain't going to take any risks anymore, if anyone comes near him he doesn't want to know. Holm jackobsen can't stay on the bike, it's fall after fall. But every season we are going with unproven riders. Vinny foord has not progressed at all. Signing Drew Kemp to replace Craig Cook has been a disaster, which isn't really suprising. Kemp would never be a replacement for cook, and before anyone says it, yes cook probably had to go, but should it have been more than one change while jacobsen was still on a assessed 5? So who does pick these teams?
  2. Yes to the above, but he is nowhere near the standard required to replace Cook, anyone with a knowledge of speedway will tell you that. You've replaced a number one with a 2nd/3rd heatleader at best
  3. Replacing a rider of Craig Cooks calibre with Drew Kemp. Oh dear, season is a right off
  4. i'm led to believe its a French rider coming in to replace Craig Cook
  5. Quite evident glasgow made a big mistake letting perry go and keeping hodder. Max is a steal on that average
  6. So its R/R for cook. Which hands the meeting to the scorpions imo. surley we could of got a decent guest.
  7. Would be nice if the club could tell us todays team? is jeppesen riding and who is replacing cook?
  8. Don't know who workingtons team manager is today but shocking choices of the r/r rides
  9. Was an enjoyable meeting. Klindt replacing the unlucky charles wright actually makes redcar stronger. Craig Cook looked like the Craig Cook of old, the new dane looks a real prospect an was well worth more than 2 points. Jamie Erherington looked way out of his depth. Tate needs to sharpen up his starts. R.E the track, this is where british speedway really shoots itself in the foot, it was dry all day and a suitable race surface should be prepared to last an evening meeting in that time, supporters should not have to watch tractor racing for over an hour on a cold night.
  10. Season over before it even started. Best wishes to charles on a full recovery.
  11. Anyone wondered what average james wright would come in on with the new reductions? 🤫
  12. A very good signing. Workington done a full season without a number 1 last year but are going into this season with two number 1s
  13. Getting him on that average of just under 8 could prove to be a masterstroke, especially with every other team just having one over 8 rider. Workington could well be the only team in the league with two genuine number 1's
  14. Good start to team building, i think all three so far have potential to kick on and improve there starting averages. Which brings up my concerns about Jacob hook, yes he had a decent season but I don't see him improving on his starting average, especially if in the main body. Next for me would be antti, yes I get the concern about his away performances but I do think it will improve next year. Not only that he is entertaining at home, easily the best rider to watch week In week out last year. That's what we pay for, to be entertained. Especially at home.
  15. Hearing the news today that Nicolai Klindt has agreed a deal to be workingtons number 1 for next season
  16. Batchelor has had his day, I wouldn't want him back next season
  17. Jonatan Grahn would be the first name on my team sheet, rides workington exceptionally well and is worth a lot more than his starting average. Definitely can't be going into this season with batch at number 1. I would keep hook and vuolas from this year's team...
  18. No complaints, beaten by the better team. Workington paying the price for not having a number 1 or 5. I like antti but he's 3rd heat leader material and batch would be a good number 4. If only we had the tate of last season
  19. Cook needs to pack up now, obviously he's not comitted to racing anymore.
  20. It was good while it lasted. Great track and facilities but hardly any home meeting then gaps of 2 and 3 week just aint going to work, people quite simpley find other things to do. One big league is the only way forward, unfortunately that looks like it will be without the comets
  21. Workington have the best track In the championship if not the country although bell vue will argue that.
  22. I will also be there today as quite simpley I don't want to loose it again. I do feel for the promotion, but having said that questions do need to be answered and I would loved to know who put the team together? Batch was never a number 1, anyone with knowledge of the sport could see that. Maybe it's down to lack of experience? Young team? Young team manager? New promotion? There's a certain Mr Stonehewer who's wife is from the area, could he be tempted to take on the team manager role? Even if it was just for Home meetings? Would certainly get the best out of riders and has all the experience and knowledge
