  1. Why it is not a rule I cannot understand.
  2. It might be better is some did close down, sooner rather than later. because if they all "hang on" it is going to drag out the dying of UK speedway even longer and more painfully. Lets end up with 12 - 14 or however few that intend to make a serious go of one league. Close down or drop to CL level.
  3. Thank you for sharing that with us, really. We often hear nothing of "why or why not". Assuming that that is what Riss said ( perhaps he talked about it differently but meant the same! )
  4. It certainly is and is the main reason that is driving me away. Unless the reserves are changed or improved ASAP. the forward thrust of the team recently will be lost. NKI may or may not recover his form / fitness but he has always been consistent in recent years and is not at the moment. Coupled with poor reserves that is a big hole in team's scoring power.
  5. The deafening silence from the BSPA doesn't help fans who are trying to make constructive suggestions. Of course, they control the purse strings and will do what they believe is best for their business ( not necessarily what is best for the sport in the UK ). The biggest problem is that they consistently show that what they come up with is a failure.
  6. Only interested in 13 heat matches if the cost is £9.99 ( or less ) and matches, without on-track problems, are finished in 75 mins ( as they should be ) so that those not interested in meaningless 2nd halves can get away if they so choose, as you suggest. Never much was unless the Next Great Thing was riding. Crisply run meetings seem to be high on the agenda of many fans ( definitely myself ). Not my first choice for speedway's next change of direction. which should be one upper league of 14 tracks running over 15 heats ( as now ) . Crisply run of course with no need for a 10 minute plus wait for heat 15.
  7. Spot on! We cannot afford ( in whatever way you use the word ) to carry on paying out the top whack for riders. The UK speedway scene is in great peril and unless the BSPA are ruthless and brave over the next few months there will be nothing recognisable left of the sport in the UK for any fans to watch.
  8. I know that there is more than 24 hours to go, but the KLS website fails to mention who is riding ie team lineups. I realise that most of the management are racing back from Germany, but it would be nice to think about those UK bound fans and do more than exhort them to come to the 3rd home meeting in a week. With a friend who they cannot tell who he or she will be watching. What is the point of a club website if club news is not on it promptly?
  9. Anyone genuinely losing interest in the sport in which they have a serious level of influence / control, should resign with immediate effect. That sport is in major decline and needs open-minded senior officers, Both the Chairman and Vice- Chairman should resign now " in the best interests of the sport".
  10. Well, we do see eye to eye sometimes Trees. Hurray! We do not want the K Bjerre back who we held on to for far too long last time and watched him gate and be passed by nearly all and sundry. He may have been recovering from an injury then, but he is out of form and riding no better now than then - for what reason we do not know.
  11. I truly do not think they incompetent, they are corrupt.
  12. An assessment made by observation by a group of four longtime fans at KL. Including the upstairs seats. We have seen the stadium rocking and bursting at the seams and believe that we are making a fair and balanced assessment of those present. If only we were privy to the genuine turnstile click totals. We are confident that we are not far off with the figures stated. It is not an attack on the promotion, we want to see 1,500 on a bad night and 2,500 on a regular basis. We just can't see that happening due to the way it is run at KLS and as a sport in general in the UK.
  13. The crowd is down at King's Lynn which never recovered from "Holdergate" last year and is half of what it was in 2015. A night that pulls in more than 1,000 is a good one. For the recent match V Poole is was around that and certainly no more than 1,200. Of course, fixed race nights at KL have not worked out well, as Denmark took priority over several team members on several possible Weds.
  14. That is the tragedy of the whole massive decline of UK speedway. They will not listen to anyone ( including lifelong fans ) and believe that the word feedback means something like poisonous assassin or despicable enemy. They view the people who have put forward constructive ideas as one of those.
  15. But how will the hordes of new fans hear all about the delights of this one big league? Twitter or Facebook as the BSPA believed the future punters were to be found - patiently waiting for the Big Shout Out. " We are ready and waiting for you" Roll Up, Roll Up. pay your nice £20 notes to the lady - no change but here's'a free racecard.
  16. I was under the impression that a 14 strong semi-pro league had been mooted already? The other teams would run at CL level with no double up / down and no fixture clashes. Might save the sport or rather delay its demise. Might not if nothing else much changes like processional chasing in 75% of heats and poor track preparation.
  17. Garrity has turned out to be as several predicted -"always in the wars" and as far as I am concerned is not someone who can be relied on. He seems to be always overriding and although his self-belief is good to see, you need the ability to back up those racing aspirations.
  18. How can you sell up and be responsible for what happens three years later? BMR were hyped as ultra professional and must have looked " buyer beware" style carefully at what they were buying? An ageing, tired business that BMR were certain they could revive and found out that they couldn't.
  19. And there you have it some promoters feel the need to be "awkward" or unhelpful even if you have paid a ticket to see the match! That is a way to build up your crowd levels. Do it "my way" or not at all is something we know all about at King's Lynn where much of the old Len Silver mode continues, "don't come if you don't like it". And many have decided NOT to go because they don't like it.
  20. Remorse is fine if it results in changed attitudes and behaviour.
  21. Not much is needed to be added to that. We are, always have been and always will be completely ignored while the BSPA is run in the way it currently is.
  22. In a "far off future" a long way away from The Abbey. Maybe. Why disturb a happy suburb of new homes, for a few hundred followers of a semi-defunct sport ( OK let's be kind, a sport in decline )?
