  1. You didn't buy me a drink because you were driving?? How does that work then?
  2. You're on the right road there Bert lad.. You're learning fast. I bought you a drink last night too Chivs.. that makes it your round!
  3. Stick with me Bert and you won't go far wrong son!
  4. Sloop is correct. As far as I can see you have 2 alternatives Gem. 1) You go all the way down the M5 turning off at the M4 and go over the bridge and pay the toll (mentioning money again, i'll get told off by LW). 2) M4 until Gloucester and pik up the A40 to Ross-on-Wye and then that connects to the M50 and you can then continue down the M50 (And no toll to pay). The choice, is yours!!
  5. There are 2 car parks for the rail station though isn't there? There's a small one opposite Sams bar, next to the NCP one, and there's a bigger one a bit futher down the road. We've parked in the bigger one before and it was quite reasonable but chose the NCP last year as it's right behind the Travelodge
  6. I think you've been talking to my wife Pantherslair and trying to get me to take her to see her favourite man... even before me.. Rosco!
  7. Toll booths!! They make you pay to enter Wales.. they should be paying you! Hello to all our welsh viewers!!
  8. Ah yes, Mr Chivs's birthday weekend too... I'll have a Bud please son! Oh and Strop's birthday weekend too.. another Bud please fella I can see this being a good weekend!
  9. And i'll have a Bud please Rabs! Ahh.. come on, it is your birthday weekend so that makes it your round!
  10. I agree Diesel, don't get me wrong. But i'm only reporting on what I saw last Sunday. It only affects the first 2 junctions, so you could always carry on down the m5 to Gloucester and then turn off that onto the a40 along to Ross on Wye and pick up the M50 again there... Or you could just go over the bridge and pay the toll.
  11. We came back from Cardiff on Sunday Diesel and noticed the sign saying the road was closed coming back towards the midlands if you like. There was no mention of the road towards Cardiff being closed at all
  12. There is a NCP car park (DGM ) behind the Travelodge which is accross the road from Sams Bar, and about 50 yards from the Prince of Wales. If you are stopping overnight its 9GBP for 24 hours which isn't bad if there are a few of you. We parked there for about 6 hours on Sunday and it cost us 6GBP, but I presume there are cheaper car parks about, that one is just close to the 2 bars in question and close enough to the MS
  13. I like to see the countryside though SCB, and the signs that make you realise your back in ENGLAND!!
  14. Steve Shovlar and a mention of a Movie in the same post..
  15. Sorry, just noticed that it says February, but the website says that was when the roadworks started and it says they are "on going" with no end date as yet!
  16. Right, seems it might have been partly true as I found this off a government website... M50 24 hour lane one closure & 40mph speed limit with full closure (M5 J8-J2) daily (07:00-19:00) on 12 & 13 February for carriageway repairs and renewal of roadmarkings. So by reading that I think it's just one lane closed, so if you had planned to be somewhere on Sunday and you're coming back that way, might be a bit wiser to leave a bit earlier.
  17. I went to the Millenium Stadium on Sunday, and on the journey back one of our party noticed a sign saying the M50 will be closed on Sunday (12th June) from 7am - 7pm at junction 2. Therefore, those stopping over may have to find an alternative route back on Sunday rather than cutting through Monmouth. I'll check this out on one of the relevant sites, but if anyone else has heard this or lives that way could you confirm whether this is the case or whether this person was mistaken maybe.
  18. BSI won't think of fans standing in the rain outside Sams bar unfortunately. They'll only do whats best for them, and with the footy moving back to Wembley there must be a big chance that the dates of the british GP will be moved?
  19. FT makes a very good point. With the playoffs and FA Cup final moving to Wembley from next year, I can see the date of the GP being moved to either the beginning or the end of the calendar when they can shut the roof and guarentee a meeting will take place. The roof was shut for the Rugby yesterday and it felt strange, but if they can guarentee a meeting then why not move it to say beginning of April or end of September?
  20. I was at the Millenium yesterday with a couple of other forum members for a rugby match. Those that can afford the expensive seats (Around M10) You'll have an excellent view. Looking forward to a visit to "Chip alley" after the meeting too!
  21. The thought of seeing Leigh must have put the fella off!
