I'm not bragging Tsunami, or commenting on the rights and wrongs of Edinburgh's number 7 situation. I am definitely for youth development... WHEN they are ready to step up or if we have a wealth of youngsters who are capable of stepping up but IMHO we have neither at the moment. Youth development needs to concentrate more on the N/L to nurture the youngsters until they are ready to step up, not poke them into the P/L and hope they survive. They need to serve their apprenticeship first, like most jobs in the real world.

Can I put a different slant on this argument ...... Speedway is a job and in any job you have to do it to the best of your ability, learn and progress and hope for promotion. I don't particularly want to spend my cash to watch young hopefuls who got a free leg up the ladder just because they are British nor do I believe this rule is anything other than a cost cutting mission. I prefer to watch 7 riders who have earned their team place just like Max Clegg and Robert Branford did last year with Edinburgh Try asking young Robert what he thinks of the new rule. The lad did everything asked of him and finds himself out of a job

Great to see the lads that finished 1,2,3 & 4 actually finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th - congratulations to Jack Holder - unbeaten and the winner - top job!

We get you Gavan, but the facts are that we HAD to destrengthen, Craig wanted to move on, Justin signed for Swindon and our promotion try to avoid "unavailable riders" and (after putting in the hard work nurturing Max and Robert) we have to have a 3 pointer. As for being worried...... We have to get behind the riders we have and hope to see good speedway. Will we have another great season?..... Time will tell but if we don't....... We'll regroup for 2017 Merry Xmas all

Thanks for that result, Merry Xmas

Well, it's official ..... The end of an era!!! It has been an absolute pleasure watching Craig develop into the rider and person he has become and we have been blessed with watching him flying round the boards at track after track over the last 5 years knowing how proud he was to wear the Monarchs race jacket and fill the trophy cabinet. Who do you want when the going gets tough, who do you want in a last heat decider? He will most definitely be missed and nigh on impossible to replace and on a purely selfish note, I am sorry to see him go but I wish him all the very best for his future progression. A remarkable talent on a speedway bike!!!!! Good luck lad

Australian Gp Is Back

you were there I take it??? Actually, I can't believe this is still running!!! Sam overreacted, has apologised, been fined and I doubt if NP is losing any sleep over it -

Yes, fair point but NP definitely wasn't the "innocent victim" nor was his mechanic -

Well, I'm going to praise our boy for his racing in his first GP ......superb Sam!!! As for the handbags, Nicki should stop taking other riders lines if he doesn't like a thick ear!!! It was a great race and Sam passed NP cleanly on the second lap, only for NP to cut back then shoot across the track to the fence taking Sam's line enforcing him to lift his leg out the way and back off the throttle to avoid a crash. A very typical NP move to stop the opposition in their tracks. Such a regular occurrence that it would seem no-one except Sam and myself noticed it...... I'd like to know what the mechanic said to Sam as he obviously took the heat away from Nicki but continued to stir the pot!!! Just for the record, I am not one of the NP haters Best wishes to Jason Doyle -
My gripe is the timing of the letter. The AGM was the place to take it and deal with it professionally What should've been a showpiece final between the TWO SCOTTISH TEAMS and something to be very proud of, has been blighted. We should be talking about the SPEEDWAY at both tracks instead of all these pages of bickering and it is sad that we couldn't all shake hands at the end, wish each other a good winter and hope to see everyone next year I am very happy (and aye, a wee bit smug) that we won and send commiserations to Glasgow and best wishes to Aaron and Robert I would like to apologise for the Edinburgh fans who displayed foul mouthed, bad behaviour but I won't as they should be doing that for themselves. I am very sorry it happened tho'..... NO place for that!!!

I go back a long way in speedway and remember the days when Dougie Templeton used to "duck under" the tapes before they were right up (well.... my Mum reminded me!) As far as I am concerned, if a rider anticipates the start without rolling and without touching the tapes...... let it go!!! Personally, I feel for James. When a young rider is under so much scrutiny, it must be really difficult to "get it right"
-
Why would Craig get none??? He never touched Charles and if you watch the Rerun DVD you will hear Charles admit that fact when interviewed Well done to both teams today, sounds like a great meeting. Wish I'd been able to go...... I can't say I'm looking forward to Friday and Saturday but it is now officially "the final countdown" may the best team win (as long as their fans have blue & yellow tinted glasses on)

Gr8scot replied to cyclone's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Congratulations to Somerset and their excellent travelling fans, I hope you enjoyed the rest of your night back at your hotel and the heads weren't too sore for the long journey home today Keep the cup polished 'cause we want it back next year tho'....... Oh, and BTW, my air horn is still better than yours!!!! -
Was there never supposed to be a semi and final or did they run out of time? Really great to see the highest scorer on the night win ...... IMO that's how it should be Congratulations to Ben

Personal insults..... No need for that!!! Huge well done to our Monarchs for such a great tour and thanks to all the Somerset fans who congratulated us and also applauded our boys on the post match parade -
Now there's a thought!!! Can you imagine how good Berwick could be with Doc on the tractor!!! You'd have to give him those big fellas, he'd be ecstatic Seriously tho' all this doom and gloom is sad and, as I have said before, Berwick is a great venue. A fans trust like Edinburgh's could make a huge difference tho' or a Grand draw. We all know how generous Berwick fans are, you only have to look at every years Ben Fund collection and how quickly the buckets come out and fill up whenever a rider is in need. I would suggest it has to work WITH the promotion as the logistics of fans "having a say" is probably unworkable in the long term. Losses can be huge and difficult to plug but it all helps.

Does anyone have a video link? I too have heard 2 versions and, at worst, a racing accident, unfortunately made worse by Stuart having nowhere to go. I am certain Ritchie will take no pleasure from Lasse's injury status
