  1. My money's on a Monarchs win, just hope the rain stays away
  2. Well done Berwick, every rider had at least one race win and points make prizes
  3. We always stop at the big roundabout and enjoy a meal at the pub - I'm driving but the others have a wee refreshment too
  4. Very hard on your team Gavan. This was a good meeting with some competitive racing and winners not winning by miles. You were still in with the chance of a point at ht 15. Your team tried hard to gain points but sadly for you, our "worst Edinburgh side" was the better "team" on the night I was most pleased to see " the real Max" last night. I have a lot of time for this lad and IMO he has potential in bucket-loads. Put the "unfair start of the season" behind you Max and let everyone see the talent you definitely have
  5. I have no idea where this crazy rule has come from but for a young struggling rider not to be able to drop to reserve is absolutely ridiculous Good luck Jye
  6. Jye is an exceptionally nice lad, who really wants to do well. It makes me really sad to see all this and I hope things will work for him very soon
  7. Oops 7pm in speedway star....... Very happy Erik is riding, hope he IS fit. Good luck boys, safe meeting for all and safe journey home all
  8. Gr8 night for the lads...... Invaluable track time. Shame about the weather!!!
  9. 1st Rye House meeting I've missed in years. I hope Erik is back to fitness. Safe meeting all
  10. Can I ask if anyone has got their refunds yet?
  11. After speaking to Craig at Workington recently when he was so worried about finances, I fear this block could sicken him to the point of calling it a day...... How can that be in the best interest of British Speedway???? If anyone is interested in supporting Craig, there is an ipetition started:- http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/CraigCookSpeedway Sorry I can't make that into a link - hope someone else can, thanks We are all behind you Craig, best of luck!!!
  12. I still enjoyed my trip to Worky who deserved their win. I have to agree about Mr Hansen's "shortcut" and Mr Wells got a flyer in ht 15 but it didn't make any difference to the fact we were second best. A real mix of good racing and some processions but the icing on the cake came 2 fold. Firstly was seeing Cookie trying out an engine after the meeting and secondly..... I won the 50/50 draw...... Thank you Workington!!!
  13. What was the score at Rye House tonight? You need to spend some time worrying about your own team and stop stressing about ours Gavan
  14. Well, here we go and ouch here we went! Superb effort from Sam and congratulations to the Tiggers on a well deserved victory
  15. I'd like to add my congratulations to all concerned in raising funds and saving Plymouth Devils. Superb news for all you fans and the riders Now the hard work begins..... Keep up the fundraising and keep bums on seats
  16. Here we go, here we go...... TBH I can't say I'm looking forward to "Monarchs without Cookie" but here's to a good meeting with a good crowd and everyone in one piece at the end
  17. Good luck to all at Plymouth from Edinburgh
  18. I see none of the riders who were stated to be "unavailable for a Sunday meeting" ( hence the need to run on a Friday) are actually unavailable on the Sunday ..... wasn't too hard to find an acceptable Sunday then eh? Also, staging on a Friday was totally unfair to the Edinburgh fans that will want to attend the semi.....
  19. I recall standing at Somerset for the pairs prior to Cardiff when word got out that they were ripping up the Cardiff track and relaying it overnight....... With the right equipment, miracles can happen. If they thought 2 "toy rollers" would be able to tyre-pack a new track with a problem area, no wonder they had a problem The riders mostly all avoided the soft bit on Saturday but the few who went through (slower than those on the outside) obviously left their mark on the track (I was on the third bend too). Give it a race with 4 bikes racing and it wouldn't take long to deteriorate
  20. I guess you think you're funny. I guess you think you're funny twice. Your response was totally unnecessary as you know exactly what I meant ie postponed PRIOR to Saturday. I can't add much more to the debate that hasn't already been said but IMO the track should've been the first priority. Speedway fans will put up with a half built stadium but a speedway meeting cannot go ahead without a well laid, tried and tested track For the record, I do think the stadium is excellent and once they get their priorities right, it will be superb
  21. This fiasco cost my elderly mother and I £234 + so I will comment when safe to do so without the mods removing it The meeting SHOULD'VE been postponed
