  1. I feel for the Panthers travelling support, after the bashing we got at Glasgow, it isn't nice to watch your team like that and it gets harder losing key riders First time I have watched BWD in action and he was very impressive Nice to see us start without a 1/5!!!!!!!!!! Luke Ruddick can gate and when he gets the hang of staying aboard, he will be a good prospect SUNSHINE..... love it!!! Don't think I've seen so much bare flesh at the Dale since the Saturday afternoons of the Dale Devils
  2. Well done to the Comets but my top entertainers for the night were the two mascots..... absolutely brilliant lads!!! They must've been all in at the end especially after their dancing wearing their outfits...... take a bow Personally, I thought Ricky was the correct choice for ht 15 but he really has to get it together in ht 1. I will be very happy when Sam goes back to #1 Very bemused with the referees decisions in ht 8 - all 4 back? and then Campton allowed to leave the track? - consistency required The Comets fans would be the happiest at the end but any fan would feel entertained after some great racing and effort from the boys Great to see birthday boy Cookie and his family x
  3. We'll give it our best shot..... looking forward to seeing Cookie and wishing him a Happy Birthday
  4. Just like Friday, a draw was a fair result tonight after an enjoyable meeting. Track was dry & stoorie but we mustn't complain about dry weather!!! What about young Max tho'? It was so nice to see him smiling at the end..... well done lad...... gating like a demon and passing too!!! Get well soon Josh, trying too hard on an unfamiliar track. I guess he will be pretty sore tomorrow. There is no doubting his ability or enthusiasm although the Newcastle fans could be forgiven for wondering what I'm on about tonight
  5. Thanks for the weather report Tsunami Our result will lie in the hands of Max I fear. If the change to reserve suits him.... great, but if not we will miss Mark taking extra rides. Safe meeting for all See you there indeed
  6. Wow, feel the tension last night as both sets of fans went thro' squeaky bum time race after race but IMO a draw was a fair result. That pass from Sam in ht 15 obviously my highlight
  7. Well, that was a nice surprise, well done the Monarchs makeshift 7. IMO with Erik & Mark in place it was ours for the taking. Danny was an inspired choice of guest and I hope he and BWD are none-the-worse for that crash. Josh riding with broken fingers and tendon damage..... what a guy!!!
  8. I certainly don't love posters who quote others to suit their own form of "banter" ........ I made the Chatzone post relating to Dan's interview. I also made post #96 on here...... exactly where have I blamed the Glasgow track? I do agree with Dan that there was more dirt on the track but I happen to be a huge fan of Dan and I take exception at your cheek of quoting my post out of context
  9. No excuses, congratulations to Glasgow. They were sublime out the gate and into the 1st / 2nd bends Huge well done to wee Pocket Rocket Dan on his first paid max for the 0141 - superb style and control on a bike
  10. For a depleted Scunthorpe team, they put up a fight. There was some really exciting racing but Josh Pickering's "wall of death" to get round the outside was the turning point. Ryan was unlucky to catch Ricky's back wheel and MPT had bad luck in his last 2 after some impressive racing earlier. For us, right place, right time and a very enjoyable day out at Sunny Scunny. A great effort for the boys who never give up
  11. (Monarchs fan) we came down last night and brought my Granddaughter (who lives in Newcastle) to see her #1 rider The Cookster. Great meeting for a neutral and heat 13 was Cookie at his breathtaking very best!!! Huge plaudits to Super Stevie (former Monarch) for beating Cookie twice, it's hard enough to do that once! Nice to see young Ashley coming on too (former Monarch). Young Conor is a bit erratic but I hope he will come good (Dad, a former Monarch)..... gave me lots of riders to cheer for, even tho' they were on opposing teams All in all a very enjoyable night at the Speedway
  12. Great to be back..... congratulations to Justin on winning the Scottish Open!!! 2nd Ricky Wells, 3rd Erik Riss and 4th Rory Schlein After 20 qualifying heats:- Theo Pijper 6 / Josh Pickering 4 / Richard Lawson 11 / Aaron Summers 5 / Ludvig Lindgren 10 / Erik Riss 10 / Kevin Doolan 7 / Matthew Wethers 6 / Sam Masters 11 / Justin Sedgmen 12 / Max Clegg 3 / Ricky Wells 12 / Mark Riss 6 / Rory Schlein 12 / Mitchell Davey 1 / Ulrich Ostergaard 4 Semi final:- won by Erik Riss, 2nd Ludvig Lindgren, 3rd Richard Lawson, 4th Sam Masters Worst luck prize goes to young Erik Riss who blew his engine after winning his 3rd race, his other engine went in the final after leading the race initially..... who would be a speedway rider?
  13. Thanks for that, they are talking about roadworks around Ashfield too, any info appreciated. We are coming from East Lothian
  14. How bad are the road works mentioned in Speedway Star folks?
  15. Sincere condolences to Bryns family, enjoyed when he used to wind up us away supporters over the PA, great memories RIP
  16. Wishing all speedway supporters a very Happy New Year with no rain offs and a safe season for all the riders A'Ra'Best all
  17. Congrats to the Rebels (and their flags) and commiserations to the Yorkshire Tiggers & guests (great effort)
  18. Jings, I posted on the Newcastle thread last night by mistake..... Lucky I didn't get my head chewed off!!! Better late than never..... Congrats to the Tiggers and commiserations to Newcastle. Hope Danny is ok
  19. Or if they were one of the riders fighting for the top 8
  20. Good post (although I removed a bit) IMO It is a fact that Speedway and the sponsored riders would find life a lot harder without Joe & Monster. Their investment must be enormous and Joe does seem totally committed, love him or not
  21. Good luck to all, safe meeting and may the best team win over the two meetings. I know who I want to win but I don't want to jinx them
  22. Taken from Monarchs Chatzone (I'm afraid I'd lost interest by then) Ht 13 S Worrall, S Lawson, R Worrall, K Wolbert Ht 15 R Worral, A Summers, E Riss, S Worrall F/ex No problem here..... Max was wiped out by "friendly fire" and his bike was damaged too. The suggestion came from a supporter
  23. So sad that such a great GP will be talked about and remembered for all the wrong reasons...... Congratulations to Chris Holder on a great win and commiserations to Jason Doyle (my series "winner") Plenty of entertainment from all the guys trying to stay in or get into the top 8 (speedway out of Kelvin's top drawer) 2016 revelation....... Bartosz Zmarzlik !!! Well done that man
