Hard Racing Or Dirty Riding?
Rob B replied to Stephen JIM Owens's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Watch the replays again, Gollob didn't look left at all, I don't think Gollob was to blame for Jonssons crash he was virtually a full bike length in front, it was a typical Jonsson crash how many times has he had crashes like that in GP's clipping someone's back wheel, he did it at Belle Vue too at the start of the season when he ran into Lanham and injured his hand. -

Think ref was probably right to exclude Crump but how can he award the race, has there been a rule change thought you couldn't award FIM races? -
Don't bother having them delivered just do the e-ticket where you print it yourself, barcode gets scanned at the track.

She was working for Sky Sports. -
A few years ago the Grand Prix series use to have some really good sponsors around the air fence and on race jackets such as Castrol, Coca Cola, KFC, Fiat, Egg etc. Now the only two sponsors they have are Speedy Hire & Meridian Lifts. The rest of the airfence is taken up advertising upcomg GP's like Cardiff and the speedwayworld website address. Very poor, thought things werer going to get bigger with IMG.

Slovenian Grand Prix
Rob B replied to driver17561's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Got back last night from Slovenia, when we first got to the track there was loads of dirt on it and it looked really deep, I thought great should be in for some good racing tonight, then about 15 minutes before the start tractors came out and scraped it off. Night was all about gates 1 & 2 you could forget 3 & 4 and after the rain that got even worst. Crump was unlucky to have two gate 4's in the qualifying and only ended up with one point less then Pedersen and Gollob etc but had to go off gate 3 and had no chance, if he had got gate 1 or in fact if probably anyone had got gate 1 they would have won it. -

Yep we flew into Trieste last year, dead easy to get to the E70, turn left out of the airport, left at the roundabout, straight over the next roundabout and then right onto the E70 towards Trieste. Just keep following the E70 and it is signposted Slovenia & Ljubljana, over the border (we didn't even get stopped last year) and keep following E70/A1 all the way to Ljubljana, motorway/dual carriageway all the way and a beautiful drive through the mountains. Few parts of it are toll road but doesn't cost much, took us about one hour 20 mins last year. Tip when going back fill up your car in Slovenia before you cross the border, fuel cheaper then in Italy. Lots of bars in the centre of Ljubljana, especially by the river. -

QUOTE (Rob B @ Apr 16 2008, 11:08 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is Andreas Jonsson riding on a Polish license or is that a mistake? Can any of our Swedish or Polish friends confirm this? -

Slovenia (where To Stay)
Rob B replied to janey2's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Pete, Slovenia changed to Euros last year so everywhere only takes euros now, not SIT. -
I'd say its definatly going to happen in the near future.

Probably not all blocks up for sale at once.

We did it from Trieste last year and it was fine, off top of my head took 1 hour and 20 mins from Trieste to Ljubljana (lots of hotels) and about 1 hour 30 mins from Ljubljana to Krsko. Roads are very good now in Slovenia, nearly dual carriageway all the way, couple of tolls but petrol is very cheap. If you want any directions send me a PM. -
Two years ago we had tickets for back straight and got their early about 4.00 but couldn't find anywhere to seat decent (apart from front row where you couldn't see a thing) as it was all reserved by the Poles, each block seemed to have their own leader, we ended up standing up at the back which was a very good view but just tiring on the legs standing for 6 hours. If was going again would book reserved seats on the first bend.

About 3-4 weeks before the GP I think.

Zagreb To Krsko By Rail
Rob B replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I would of thought it would be taking a risk getting back, normally if a GP runs to time it will be finished about 9:45 but if there are a few reruns can go on quite a bit later then you have to find a taxi to get to the station. We have always hired a car, they are cheap over there and petrol is cheap too, easy to park at the stadium.
