You must be walking very fast to do it in 40 minutes plus its up hill on the way there, but downhill coming back.

No doubt the easiest to get to for flights, transport and amount of hotels available is Prague. Cheap flights from all airports no need for car just use underground and trams, loads of hotels and apartments.

Speedway Star Travel Club

Yep exactly and that was my point in how much profit travel plus are making, but like I said I suppose its good for single people to go on if they want to spend the money to be with others. -

£200? Don't think its ever cost us more then £150 to do a foreign GP, nowadays we do them for around £100! I see the advantage of the likes of Travel Plus for the single person etc wanting to go abroad but I still think they rip off to make a profit. Years ago Peter Ballinger use to organise trips to Slovenia and Norway and sorted out all the transport with coaches & hotels and charged less then half the price of Travel Plus. -
In the next couple of months I'd say. No rush, never sells out.
-
Probably, this year I could lean over and nearly tap Tomasz Gollob on the head.
-
Just had an email from them saying that rows 1 & 2 are not available now as they are covering them up for health & safety reasons, not too happy about it but can't do much about it, don't know why they are being covered up they are about 10 foot off the ground and have the pits inbetween the track.
-
Last year we were in D2 and was above Gollob/Andersen. This year we have gone for C2 so we are above the top guys.
-
Tickets for the German GP went on sale yesterday, we have got front row back straight again, great view of track and into pits where you can virtually touch the riders below for £30.
-
Easyjet flights to Ljubljana went on sale at the weekend, initially were £63 which was a bargain, now they are £84 which is still not bad.

Leszno Gp May 10th 2008
Rob B replied to Blazeaway's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yep : http://www.speedwayworld.tv/en/sgp/a8536 -
Why have we got two Leszno threads together, can a mod merge them?
-
We normally always fly Stansted to Ljubljana but last year we flew Stansted to Trieste (Italy) as it was dirt cheap and just drove over the border, stayed in Ljubljana and drove to Krsko. Roads are good now in Slovenia.

Speedway World Cup 2008

Why have the race off and final never been in Sweden? -
Correct, I rang someone at home and they said Sky were showing heat 3 but at the track heat 5 was just starting.
-
Rubbish, Harris would never do anything like that.
-
Think they are doing it at the last one because the championship has been decided before the last round last few years.
-
Sorry if this was mentioned in one of the other threads but not had the time to go through them all. At the end of last nights broadcast (just watched the end when I got back as the rest was crap) several riders refer to $200,000 next year, what is this for and has it been announced?

Final Gp, From Germany
Rob B replied to Steve Turner's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Ouch, sounds like you didn't have a good time, for us was one of the cheapest, flights £42 each, hotel £30 each (including free cocktail), Hire car £10 each, tickets £30 each. Agree the racing was rubbish but would go again next year, just hope the track is better. -
Thats kind of strange, I always presumed the interviews were live, can't understand why they wouldn't show them. Jonathan Green was going up and down the pits all night interviewing riders, wonder how many they actually showed then.

Final Gp, From Germany
Rob B replied to Steve Turner's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Got back about 8:00, overall had a good weekend, great flights with Air Berlin will definatly use them again. Stayed in a great hotel on the outskirts of Essen which was full of speedway people (mainly German and Poles) and had loads of bars and food places nearby. Drove to the stadium, dead easy to park, free too then just a 5 minute walk to the stadium. Thats where the fun started, we got there at 5.30 and was a huge queue to get in, mainly as there were only 4 gates open and they were hand searching every single person, but I still sneaked a bottle of drink in! Great stadium, we had great view, front row back straight right on top of the pits, I could of lent over and tapped Gollob on the head if I wanted to. Right Said Fred were rubbish, music was so loud too, a lot louder then Cardiff. Decent size crowd, atmosphere was kind of strange though as air horns were banned. Virtually all the Poles were on the first & second bends, mainly German on the home straight and the back straight was mainly English with some others like Swedes and Danes. The track was terrible, so hard and the racing was rubbish, people complained about the track cutting up at Cardiff but at least it provided entertainment. Best race of the night was the race off, with the final being a massive anti-climax. Jonsson was the rider who needed the money least, he can put that towards a second Ferrari now. -
Not without being told to. We were on back straight front row right above pits, Harris came back to pits first and want to his bay, Nicholls then walked past and got a lot of abuse from the mainly English at the front of our block, he just looked up and grinned and then went into his pit bay and sat down. Then Middleditch went and had a word with Nicholls and Nicholls got up and walked towards Harris pit bay, when he got there Harris told him to f*** off so Nicholls turned straight back around and went back into his pit bay. Question - I recorded the repeat that was on at 1am, on the live broadcast did they show interviews then with Harris and Nicholls because Jonathan Green interviewed them seperatly but they weren't shown on the 1am programme?

Pits are along back straight! As we are on front row back straight will be able to look right into pits from above. -
