Tom Brennan is in a different league to Stoneman and Rowe imo..... Neither Stoneman or Rowe will make it in to the main body of the team, but Brennan is definitely a future International imo..... However, I do enjoy watching Nathan race, he's a real competitor, in the mould of Hume and I do like Rowe's style and control and hope he goes on to better things!

Good Friday away to Somerset? M5 car park -
Neil Middleditch will be a hard act to follow....(away meetings) He's not only a very clever manager, he's gracious in defeat and conducts himself professionally whenever I've heard him being interviewed. Staying calm in critical situations must have a very positive bearing on the teams performance? I like 'Havvy' but he lacks composure at times and his passion gets the better of him imo......

I sort of agree with you here....from a 'passionate' fan's perspective? having said that, just because you don't attend meetings, it doesnt stop a person watching it on TV, reading about it and still having an interest/opinion about the sport ? I love watching Cricket, but I've never been to a 'live' match ? Not sure if I've missed the point? i'm knocking on a bit : ) my first meeting was in 1971 aged 4 ! (and I still attend....)

A manager in the North and one in the South ....is that because of Brexit, or just a language barrier??? LOL No wonder nobody takes the sport seriously !?

May be Newcastle are thinking of the future and hope that having one foot in the NL gives them something to fall back on, if their Championship campaign fails?

Berwick/Newcastle/Somerset..... look the weakest 3 teams to me? Kent might also be in that bottom 'bracket' if Nicholls/Covatti don't perform at home?

No fault there Col.....it's great to hear the name of riders from the past that probably didnt quite reach expectations or fulfill their potential? You are so right about 'Silver' ? great to watch, but you wouldn't want to be too close to him on a tight track? : ) He always reminded me of a surfer? on and off the bike ! -

And 'both' riders have nowt to do with Birmingham ..... So, let's try and find out for PTBaB if our 'Bulls' side are running this year? and who is going to be sorting our track out ? -

Totally agree! Silver was a very stylish (leg-trailer if I remember?) rider! All out action! -

I guess that they (the young uns) can still learn a lot by just being in the team.....set-ups.....track technique's etc..... -

I think the problem we have with reserves trying to progress, is that you can get away with just one strong reserve if the manager is tactically astute? The stronger reserve can/will replace the weaker one in 2 of their heats and then the weaker reserve will sometimes get thrown in to a tougher race, whereby he'll replace an average second string rider , or someone who's having an off night? I think it's a tactic that a lot of managers come in for criticism for not using the right reserve at the right time? (i'm certainly guilty of 'gobbing' off when i think that the manager has made an error?) sometimes I get it right and sometimes not !? -

You can add Leon Flint to that list shame as Henry Atkins looks set to miss out too? -

Alfie Bowtell is another rider that 'surprisingly' looks set to miss out ? I wonder if Jack Parkinson Blackburn and Zach Wajtknecht have given up for good? Blackburn was a definite international in the making imo.......great potential, just lacked some decent equipment! -
No young British talent on the radar then ???

No offence taken....we're both passionate speedway fans by the sounds of it! : ) You have a very valid point about 'averages' and it's one that the BSPA fail to address for the 'benefit' of our future prospects/talent. -

If you pay closer attention to my post about Danyon, you will see that I didnt quote you? it's just my opinion in general.... I'm not a hypocrite where Danyon's concerned if you read my posts properly....? I love watching Danyon race, I merely point out what I think are his flaws/short falls (no pun intended) and other clubs seem to have a problem with signing him also? (unless Poole sign him...I'll be thrilled for him if they do....) Why can't you just stick to commenting on the post ......instead of attacking the poster??? If it's something you don't agree with, you have to have a personal dig for some reason ? -

I think we need to turn the record over about Danyon?.....take a look at the 2020 Championship signings? we're not the only club who have over looked him ? Unless Poole sign him ? -

Point out a team in the Championship who don't have a few if's and but's ? Garrity and Harris are both 'big' race riders and can beat anyone on their day......making/missing the gate will be a common problem, which is why we need to get the surface right....not only for the start of the meeting, but more importantly, maintaining it throughout the meeting, so there's plenty of grip for Heats 13/15 !? -
Surely it's down to the 'BSPA' to develop British riders ? Not Poole Speedway Club? It's a difficult enough job to keep a club running/existing ? BSPA could introduce a 'rule' insisting all clubs have at least one 'developing' British rider in their team (obviously certain criteria's would have to be implied?)

Agreed! Can't have a team of racers on a slick/inconsistent surface!? I'm sure our management already know this and will sort it out! -

Agreed! Can't really add anything to your prediction, other than to 'endorse' your comment about staying 'injury' free? I also think that if we stay injury free, then we will always have at least one strong reserve, which can be a 'trump' card at times!? Starting with 'Paco' ....on his day, he can beat any team's reserves/second string riders....home/away! -

Hume is definitely on the pace, but can't control the bike for 4 laps on a regular basis! He broke Ellis's collar bone last season! FACT! -

Quite right PtbaB….thank you for pointing that out...… my opinion is based on what I've seen of both riders at their best.....It's not a negative swipe at Danyon. I love watching Danyon ride a bike, he's an out an out racer......I just remember Jack Thomas being a class act when he won the British U19 semi Final at PB 2 seasons ago! Lawrence Rogers and David Mason obviously agree with me ?
