Can't someone ask for some 'nostalgic' meetings please? 2019 doesn't really make for great viewing....apologies if one sounds ungrateful....just 'need' entertaining whilst in lockdown : ) Happy to debate this suggestion if anyone's as bored as I am ? LOL

There will be a 12 week lock-down soon....nobody will be able to leave their houses. The Government are dragging it on as long as they can because of the SSP implications.

I havent seen the list of availabilities so I can't answer that question ? I have a feeling that Thomsen might have been a better signing if he could continue the way he finished last season......he certainly wouldnt be any worse!?

I think VG will be similar to Paco? he'll be ok at home once he gets dialled in......however, I can't see many points being picked up away from home ? I thought there'd be better options out there ? Obviously not! Morris has been around long enough and he was bang on the money just before his injury, so I'd expect him to make a claim for the 3rd heat leader position?

Just read last seasons report about VG leaving Somerset? May states that VG felt that he wasn't up to the job? What is the difference this season, especially having not rode in England since last July? Hmmmmmmmmm???

Having reflected over-night....I think that VG will have more desire to prove that he's capable, as opposed to a 'has-been' ? Obviously a massive skill difference, but us Brummies love a trier and I hope VG gives us his all, at the very least!? Did he quit mid-season last year, or was he pushed? that will tell us a lot about the man?

Quite right... My appetite for the new season has been suppressed by this team switch! VG will be behind Shanes/Morris and Paco in the averages....putting him 6th in the side....imo Thomsen will be back before we know it? (especially if he carried on the way he ended the season?)

Looks like the management had limited options to replace THJ......if I remember rightly, VG performed reasonably well at PB last season? He'll probably end up at reserve with Paco coming in to the main body? Play-Off credentials have dropped massively : )

Unfortunately we didn't have much choice with Lee's departure, It was always going to be temporary, as he juggled both clubs.... It's just a shame that we didn't employ an apprentice to work alongside him? Not an easy task selling 'speedway' these days?

Our commercial/marketing department needs a complete overhaul imo..... Since Lee Kilby departed, it's been non-existent!

Quite right Col..... having said that....it seems that 'speedway' in itself is all about surviving and winning anything is a bonus!? (just my opinion)

Not wanting to sound 'dis-respectful' here.....are we swaying away from the thread point by analysing how many Brits each team have, as opposed to the development, or lack of, re: British Talent? B'ham have 5 Brits, but how many of that 5 are we helping to develop? answer would be 3 imo ?
