  1. Why don't someone just tell Col the bloomin answer? It's a Birmingham Speedway thread ? Somebody wants to invest in the club here?
  2. Assuming that all the other clubs have made significant improvements? My only concern is....and I'm not being negative....we have a team that''s capable of beating any other team when all are firing, but on the flip-side, we might be 'beatable' by the weakest team when they're not? I'm extremely happy with our 7 and look forward to seeing some proper action at PB this season..... If I had to choose between thumping everyone every week and winning the league, or seeing some great racing and not quite making the play-offs, then I'd choose the latter! May be it's my age?!
  3. Looks like there's going to be a few talented young Brits falling by the wayside, if they don't get fixed up? Surely Connor Mountain will get signed? Would love to see JPB back in action at NL level....he has/had massive potential ! I don't think ZW will re-appear? think his confidence is shot?
  4. I was happy for Brum to just survive their first season in the CL....play offs never entered my mind. With Nicholls and Covatti, you have 2 of the best riders in the division imo. There is only 2 BIG hitters in this league and that's Cook and Masters imo…..
  5. Leicester are weak at reserve imo.....(no disrespect, but it's a massive jump for Dan/Joe) Scunthorpe have a nice balance, as do Eastbourne imo.....
  6. When I say far stronger? I wasn't insinuating that we're far stronger than Somerset? I am suggesting that our starting 7 is far stronger than our 2019 starting 7 As for Ellis over Harris ? may be....but I'd rather have Harris over Schlein/Barker
  7. You're probably right......however, 'we' (B'ham) are definitely far stronger ! (thankfully)
  8. Somerset looking far weaker than last season imo !
  9. FIXED! That's why our beloved sport is a mockery at times!
  10. Or because nobody else wanted him ? joking of course ! I hope Tom manages to avoid injury for once .....
  11. I want Garrity to miss the gate! LOL Hancock is an exception to ANY speedway rider! Being a 'brilliant' gater.......avoiding serious injury,....keeping in top shape.....a rider, not only with skill, but a very high intelligence!
  12. Harris gives his all in every race for whoever he's riding for....even when guesting.....he deserves and earns every penny imo!
  13. Why wouldn't he when a speedway career is a short one? Would you change your job for more money if you were just doing the same thing?
  14. I'm guessing 'edicate' is a south west saying for 'etiquette' ? If Brummies did link Harris before the 2019 season ended, then I'd like to commend our promotion for some excellent 2020 planning in advance!
  15. Why 4 teams with a bye ? Is anybody interested in the KOC these days? It holds no weight in my calendar!
  16. Some of us like a 'free' week every now and then.....I'm not a football fan, but with us being a 'Wednesday' track, we lose a few fans when one of the local teams are playing at home.....and we have '4' well supported local teams.(arguably)
  17. Southern section looks a little tougher than the North ? can't see there being many free weeks with all the proposed fixtures?
  18. Absolutely! He saved our season 'single-handedly' , from an entertainment spectacle! He would've been my first choice and I'm so glad he was LR's!
  19. I'm sure management will be aware of his other commitments before signing......being a seasoned 'pro' all the travelling will be part and parcel. As soon as he gets dialled in at PB, we will have a solid Heat Leader! If we stay injury free, we will be a match for any one!
  20. You certainly know your stuff! Any chance for the lotto numbers tomorrow please? Well done LR....a very promising, solid looking side! at least 5 of our riders will improve their average if they can stay injury free! (imo)
  21. Hopefully our track will not be a gaters track.....it never has been in the past, apart from the odd 'slick' prep, which is obviously what the home favourites requested. We've got a team of racers and they'll demand an outside line, especially on the 2nd bend! (I'd imagine?) I think Heat 1 and 15 will be the 2 races that might require an electric start?
