Riders and officials being interviewed is one idea but I do wonder why they bother when they do do this as u can't hear what they are saying most of the time. I do remember Long Eaton had the animals from the local circus appearing during an interval once, good old Steve Johnston going round the track on the back of a camel. Ermmm yep that kinda wouldn't happen these days. Also remember bike stunts being performed. Think most things are difficult to do during the tractor breaks as they can happen without notice. And of course intervals can be curtailed if the weather is against things. Glasgow have a great idea involving the kids race on the back straight which keeps people's interest. Think the most important thing is engaging with the kids in the breaks as us 'oldies' seem used to seeing which tractor wins. Maybe something which can be interactive with mobile phones/tablets but I guess it comes down to cost. Ermmmmm, not sure I've helped any.

Poole Pirates Vs Glasgow Tigers 31/7/24
lbw replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
WINborne Road says it all with Rocketman leading the way with a full house as we showed them Tigers how to get 3 points in the bag! Rider of the Night for me was Vinnie, sorry Richard, because he's showing more and more ability this time with 2 race wins! Good lad is our Vinnie, I will be at Leicester on Sunday to get behind him and Sam in the NDL series. Hope Sam can sort his form out soon as it can't be easy for him at the moment. Heat 15.......Bomber, where's Ben? C'mon the Boyzzzz -
I arrived at 315 and all systems ready to watch the action

Northern Lights!

What you are totally oblivious to is that it doesn't matter who is in the race to produce a very entertaining race and that's where the quality lies! I enjoy all levels whether that's an Emil or NDL racing. I've seen great and not so great racing at all levels. Remember, all the greats have to start somewhere. And you should've been at Glasgow on Friday especially heat 10 Ben Cook vs Bomber.......beat any race in the top league any day if ur into separating the leagues!

Looking forward to pre meeting flat white and then travelling south to see the Mighty Pirates complete the double over last year's champions. How things have changed for Glasgow since then and with the Pirates in no mood to drop any points soon this is going to be one way traffic. C'mon the Boyzzzz -
Leszno vs Wroclaw featuring Ben Cook 9(5)
-
Ben must be supremely fit . Don't know how he does it because there's nowt to him yet he handles the bike with apparent ease. The organisation behind it all is mind boggling and to think I only have to organise hotels & trains for short trips.

Ben Cook scored 9(5) 2, 1, N, 3, 3 for Leszno today in their 47-43 win over Wroclaw https://ekstraliga.pl/en/se/match/4850 Well done Ben

Dust was definitely an issue in the stand on bend 1. Not sure what the cleaners will think of me brown towel ! I sit on the straight at Poole so not affected by any dust that kicks up there. Dunno, part of the sport I guess which is difficult to control on a warm breezy afternoon. Flying shale & dust is kinda common place on the bends. -

I've just had a celebration 2 pints of lager and a curry at the Waverley Equally as good was to see our reserve Vinnie starting to show his talent with 6+2(4) along with other recent good scores. Good to see you again and meet Geoff for the first time, where is he lurking? -

Was a classic, breathtaking, like 2 boxers trading blows which could've gone to a split decision. Ben showed the Poole lads earlier in the meeting where to pass coming off bend 4. Classic And I'll be in Workington soon, train gets in at 950 where I will go and toast the mighty Pirates with a flat white of course! -

What an absolutely pulsating meeting to attend and witness speedway at it's best. The races involving Ben, Richard & Bomber were phenomenal. Heat 10 with Ben & Bomber throwing everything at each other to pass & re-pass was incredible to watch. That race was a classic! It's a great shame that it wasn't captured on film because even the controversial reffing decisions involving Richard & Ben were worth another watch to see if the ref was right or wrong. But where would we be without a bit of controversy to talk about?! Special shout out for Vinnie as he contributed a vital 5 points and the way he rode you wouldn't think he was a 2 point rider! Well done Vinnie. Thoroughly enjoyable evening and well done to Glasgow for playing their part in an incredible meeting. The Boyzzzz dug deep NID
