Scunthorpe Scorpions vs Poole Pirates
lbw replied to eric i's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Going to a tough meeting for both teams but the Pirates hold a 14pt lead for the aggregate point so all being good we should be aiming for that in the very least. But if anyone can we can and with Captain Cook leading the way in scintillating form all 3 points is a good possibility. Having pre meeting flat white although sadly I won't be in attendance for this one. C'mon the Boyzzzz -

Max Perry 3+1 when he guested at home vs Edinburgh July 3rd. So you can't categorically say that he wouldn't score a few points. -

Oh jeez! Hope Vinnie gets his shoulder right asap. Couldn't we get Max Perry in? Would rather have seen him at home at least.. But hope Trigger & Hook can get us a few points each. -
Looking to extend their unbeaten run in the league to 12, technically correct, the Pirates come up against one of the stronger teams in the league the Scorpions. That said the Pirates crushed the Scorpions last time out with a convincing 60-29 win in the KO Cup semi but as we know the Scorpions have tasted their own success at WImborne Road (When they had Ryan Douglas). Wonder if Lawson will be on the bonus points this week after his full house and I hope Vinnie's shoulder is feeling better as it was causing him a lot of discomfort on Sunday. Scunthorpe are 2nd in the league for a reason so mustn't be taken lightly. Both teams should be at full strength.

NDL Series Leicester Vinnie Foord 3rd 13pts after run off (2 3 3 3 2). Solid scoring all the way through but Springer clattered into him on bend 4 taking both into the air fence. Both got up and walked away. On the presentation Vinnie reported that he was in a lot of pain with his right shoulder, looked like he had an ice pack on it. I presume this injury is from Redcar?? Sam Hagon 4th 11pts (3 3 3 EX 2) Was looking good to winning the meeting until he missed the gate in the crucial heat 15 against the other unbeaten rider Joe Thompson. As Sam tried to make up the lost ground he clipped Spencer on the back straight which sent Spencer sprawling down the track. Spencer was up and ok but Sam excluded. Meeting won by Joe Thompson 15 max and 2nd William Cairns. Yes the Championship clubs will be queuing up to sign Cairns but he doesn't turn 16 till July I think next season.

Riders and officials being interviewed is one idea but I do wonder why they bother when they do do this as u can't hear what they are saying most of the time. I do remember Long Eaton had the animals from the local circus appearing during an interval once, good old Steve Johnston going round the track on the back of a camel. Ermmm yep that kinda wouldn't happen these days. Also remember bike stunts being performed. Think most things are difficult to do during the tractor breaks as they can happen without notice. And of course intervals can be curtailed if the weather is against things. Glasgow have a great idea involving the kids race on the back straight which keeps people's interest. Think the most important thing is engaging with the kids in the breaks as us 'oldies' seem used to seeing which tractor wins. Maybe something which can be interactive with mobile phones/tablets but I guess it comes down to cost. Ermmmmm, not sure I've helped any.

WINborne Road says it all with Rocketman leading the way with a full house as we showed them Tigers how to get 3 points in the bag! Rider of the Night for me was Vinnie, sorry Richard, because he's showing more and more ability this time with 2 race wins! Good lad is our Vinnie, I will be at Leicester on Sunday to get behind him and Sam in the NDL series. Hope Sam can sort his form out soon as it can't be easy for him at the moment. Heat 15.......Bomber, where's Ben? C'mon the Boyzzzz -
I arrived at 315 and all systems ready to watch the action

What you are totally oblivious to is that it doesn't matter who is in the race to produce a very entertaining race and that's where the quality lies! I enjoy all levels whether that's an Emil or NDL racing. I've seen great and not so great racing at all levels. Remember, all the greats have to start somewhere. And you should've been at Glasgow on Friday especially heat 10 Ben Cook vs Bomber.......beat any race in the top league any day if ur into separating the leagues!

Looking forward to pre meeting flat white and then travelling south to see the Mighty Pirates complete the double over last year's champions. How things have changed for Glasgow since then and with the Pirates in no mood to drop any points soon this is going to be one way traffic. C'mon the Boyzzzz -
