I would say yes. How many meetings did Cookie get for his Polish team last year. I think they have included riders like Summers, Rose and Howarth (no disrespect to these riders) to pass some ruling but probably have very little intention of using any of them.
-
What of the chances of us still getting Lewis Rose. I understand he has signed in Poland and according to Stal Rzeszow they have named all of the following riders as part of their squad, no disrespect to Lewis but what chance has he got of actually getting a ride? @GregHancock45 @morra2012 @NicklasPorsing M.Kuciapa T.Jędrzejak D.Stachyra E.Mazur @RorySchlein3 @Rose822 @aaronsummers88 @kyle_howarth P.Wojdyło M.Rząsa M.Curzytek A.Bieliński A.Potoniec They have named 16 riders, they only need 7 (10 max I would think) and I do not know how much experience Rose has on Polish tracks, but would he even be ahead of Summers, Schlein or Howarth. I am not meaning to sound unkind to Rose as I think he is a cracking racer and love watching him, just if he is sitting out the Championship (not saying he is) waiting on a ride in Poland, will he even get one? I am struggling to come up with 2 names to fill our remaining slots and think Rose is a good shout and I don't think he would miss many or any fixtures based on above.

I remember this happening in a league meeting, hopefully it will have all cleared come 31 March 2018/1 April 2018!!!

Interesting that Berwick are to be sponsored by former (Berwick, Newcastle and Newport) rider Kristian Lund, I wonder if Newcastle considered this option? Glad we have BTS on board as team sponsor by the way.
-
Don't you think that would give us a very soft centre. With either Aarnio, Wilko, Perks or Morris switching between reserve berth and 2 or 4, we would have riders at no 4 who are not really middle order riders. I think Aarnio or Morris are good riders to have in the No. 2 jacket but think they may struggle at 4. Having said that, I was impressed with Morris last year when he rode at 4 a couple of times. I think we are trying to make the best out of a bad position and if these two (Kennett and Perks) are our best option then so be it. If they are happy to be at the club and really want to ride for us and show commitment week in week out then great.
-
Doesn't Kennett race stocks (not sure what day) and I'm not sure why people are suggesting Perks, in his last appearance at Brough he was woeful.
-
No and I think Poland might get in the way.
-
Could be good in the summer months, I hear he does a good BBQ!!!
-
I see Danny Phillips tweeted videos of him back on a bike for this first time since his crash. Good Luck to the lad.
-
Claes Nedermark or Lubos Tomicek!! You still got room on your sofa Tsunami?
-
Is he the 8pt man or the 5pt man!!!! More likely to be Gary O'Hare Or does he not count as he was a Fed Special!!!!
-
Ronnie Gill says Diamonds after an 8pt and 5pt man and possible ex Diamonds (haven't read the article in question myself, informed by someone else). If that is true, surely that rules out Rose!! I was hoping Rose would be back, miss for the Diamonds and miss for the Championship
-
So is Rose I believe so does that automatically rule him out. I think he has signed for the same team as Aaron Summers.
-
Yeah, looking up the world in a reputable dictionary and you see his ugly mug.
-
I can think if one from Redcar that comes to Newcastle or he used to before he was banned I believe.
-
Nicholls wasn't coming to Newcastle as he'd signed a deal before Christmas with Peterborough according to his Twitter account.
-
My only concern so far is that if we are pinning our hopes on getting either Nicholls or Kennett or both and the rule does not get changed by the powers that be, where does that leave us. I hope not up rubbish creek in a barbwire canoe. I know that George has been in this game long enough to have more than one plan but I wonder how long he will give it until he reverts to Plan B, C, D etc. I am like every other supporter who is concerned by the lack of communication coming out of the Promotion but as stated by Tsunami and others, not point reporting negative or bad news and if the Promotion have nothing to report they can't report it. I also think they are unlikely to report on potential targets for fear of alerting others teams of a rider they may not have thought of or considered. I think we just have to wait and see. I appreciate that we see the number of rider available for selection diminishing but we do not have all of the facts in front of use and we are not aware of who is and who is not available. Hopefully some news will come out in the next few weeks but until then I think we have to wait (as annoying as that may be) and see and continue to play guess the remaining 4 riders. I still have my hopes on the return of Rose and intrigued to find out who the final reserve is, hoping it is not Phillips, I think his lack of racing last year and coming back from injury has got to go against him, whether his Dad is a promoter or not. Keep thinking big fellow Diamonds fans and the dream of Nicholls may happen or an even bigger rider than Nicholls.
-
What facts did I get wrong. I am well aware that last year it was either Ludde or Matej and we chose Ludde. I am merely wondering why we have not used him this year!!! I wasn't aware he had confirmed he was riding in Poland. Good luck Matej in 2018, looking forward to seeing him at Brough.

I see Lakeside have had to make a change and have dropped Clegg and brought in Bowtell. Gutted
-
But based on that thinking, why have we not used Kus, I can only assume that he does not fit, is to expensive, does not want to ride for us or has he been sold back to the Bears. Seems strange to go to great lengths to sign a rider one year and then never use him in any of the subsequent years!!!
-
I would give the captain's armband to Robbo.
-
Still leaves the 1 and 29 July though.
-
He'll always be a legend, let alone a Lakeside one!!
-
July looks like it is going to be a quiet and boring month at Newcastle. Why can't we have meeting on 1 July, 22 July or 29 July? Kids will have just finished school, get the kids attention early at the start of the summer holidays and keep them hooked all summer!!
-
Any thoughts on the next rider to be announced? I go for either Ludvig or Danny Phillips!!! I hope it is not Danny, simply for the fact I think Alfie would be a better bet and if Danny hasn't been on a bike since the accident, why would we take the risk!! Think Nicholls would be a good signing and be great if he was the next one, I just think the commute from his base to Newcastle every week will be too much.
